My OP2 slider has become hypersensitive and even a slight touch makes the notification slider go berserk and it keeps toggling between different modes(silent, vibrate etc) for 15-30 sec. I am currently on Oxygen OS latest. I think it is hardware issue so decided to go rooting the phone way as there are no options to disable slider.
I want to conform is there any way to disable the slider in custom rom (pixel experience or RR)?
thanks.

I have a couple of questions about this.
1) With Ambient display enabled, the screen pops on when a notification comes through, or when I pick up the device. If Ambient display is disabled, the screen doesn't wake for either circumstance.
- The way I would like to have it, is where the screen only comes on when a notification comes through, and not when I move the phone. For me, it's a bit annoying most times. Is there a setting or another way to achieve this?
2) When Ambient display is enabled and I get the sound or vibration for a notification, it takes a few seconds (3-5) for the screen to come on.
- Is this normal? I'd prefer it to come on right after the notification sound/vibration.
I'm currently on build MDA89D, and have fingerprint/pin set for lock screen security.
Yeah that sounds normal. It definitely needs some advanced settings to make it less annoying. I foresee custom roms in our future

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure that it is working as intended, even though I'd like to tweak it a bit.
Hi,
I use moto display without gesture detection. When i receive a notification (mail, text message, ...) the screen turns on and slowly turns off which is the expected behaviour. But then the screen keep turning on/off indefinitely until i open the notification or dismiss it.
Do you have the same behaviour ?
Moreover this behaviour is not linked to any phone mouvement as it is just laid on the table without any vibration that could wake it up.
It seems to me that this new bahaviour appeared with MM.
Either you disable Moto display for notifications or slide the unlock icon to the right so it will dismiss the notification on moto display but not on the notifications bar.
Yes, but do you confirm that this is the expected behaviour ?
I thought it was supposed to turn the screen on just one time and not to turn my screen into a christmas tree. Moto display is supposed to save our battery life, not sure it is going to reach that target with this behaviour, especially with a screen that is not an amoled...

It's gonna pulse every minute or so for about 10 minutes I believe. Then it stops. If your phone is face down, it won't pulse at all.
Thanks for your feedback, too bad that we can't configure it, it's way too long by default imo.
I had a problem with the Lollipop and now the MM versions of the Moto Display. You can dismiss the notification, but it will start pulsing again for the same notification a little while later, with nothing new happening. Wasn't too bad with Lollipop, because I just switched to Ambient display which worked perfect. Now Ambient is gone for some reason.

I've checked, i don't have this behaviour on my side, once the notification is dismissed it stops pulsing... i don't understand how it can be different from one phone to another.
Edit : How did you switch to Ambient display btw ?
I haven't found a way to switch to Ambient on MM, you can only turn off Moto Display which gives you no notifications at all! It was easy with Lollipop, just go to the Moto settings and choose which display version you want.
Well it could be acceptable to turn it off with a notification led...

Maybe unfortunately for some, Motorola got rid of Ambient Display in MM.

Is it possible to change the general Vibration intensity?
I'm not talking about the keyboard key vibration duration, I talk about the general strenght of the vibration motor wich is way to high with this device!
Even if I disable all vibration settings within an app, and just use a short pattern in lightflow, this phone is waking up the hole house if it lays on a desk.
Is there any custom Kernel or a root method, with a way to change the intensity like it is known from Samsung, CyanogenMod, LG or all the others? This little simple slider under Sounds wich let you set a percentage value for the intensity.
I love this phone, but this drives me crazy...
This was discussed quite a while back and I never saw any solution to it.
Is there any way to tune the vibration (eg. notification, touch, global vibrations separately)?
Previously I've used Xposed modules, but Xposed is not available on Android N afaik.
I'm using EX kernel, and there are two settings for vibration in the EX kernel manager app, but the only that works is the first option "Vibration" which is the global setting.
The second "Notification vibration" slider doesn't have any effect whatsoever.
Also, I'm using Swiftkey as my keyboard, and the lowest setting for key press vibration is still too high, 1 or 20, there is literally no difference.
The only way I see it is to tweak the global vibration down, and then raise the notification/call vibration intensity.
I'm on Android N stock, rooted, EX kernel.
I have the same issue. I hate the vibration so much that I turned it off completely for all notifications. Anyway to tune the vibration to the effect that it's closer to the vibration of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. I'm looking for a softer vibration as opposed to the rattling strong vibration the Nexus 6P currently has.

I hate that I almost can't feel the vibration while the phone is in my pocket, and also hate when typing on the keyboard instead of getting nice haptic feedback, there is just an annoying sound.
That's why I'm looking to tweak it, it's really badly calibrated, at least in my case.

I am starting to think that maybe they just put a cheap vibration motor in the Nexus 6p.
Is there any way to stop the phone from vibrating whenever I change panels on the e-ink screen? Switching between the YotaPanels and YotaCover or moving between panels always produces a vibration and I can't find a way to get rid of it.
The same thing when drawing a pattern to unlock the phone when in YotaPanel mode (when drawing the panel in YotaMirror no vibration is produced, as configured).
I got the phone last week and it's still with the original Android 4.4.3 that came with it, in case that makes a difference.
Did you or anybody else figure out how to turn off vibrations on eink?
Go to Settings -> Soubnd & Notification
Disable Vibrate on touch for always on display.
It is working using Android 6.0.1 RU version
