Hi everybody!
I have just find out this article from Sony blog:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/2014/11/06/android-5-0-xperia-z3-running-aosp/
So I think I will get Lollipop in our Z1 very soon.
See you!
AOSP is fine but not from sony
I like camera in my z1
Yep can't wait for the new 5.0 custom roms to roll in. At least sony has now officially supported the modding community.
a good ROM?Thanks
I use my camera far too much to support being a beta tester in the various 5.0 ROMs rolling out in Original thread..
I can live without mobile data since I'm in a WiFi zone almost exclusively, but no camera? no dice..
I too love aosp, even on kitkat. But I really hope they have fix camera issues. That would be awesome!
Yeah i could try livin without modem since there is citywide wlan available but without camera ?! no way!
Will there be a official release for android Marshmallow for TN7 ?
Are you sure you want one?
I suppose it would be nice to get something beyond the slightly glitchy 5.1 they released. But 6.0 isn't exactly bug free.
Would be happy if they release a patch for glitchy 5.1. Sent several tweets to nvidia, tegra and someother regarding this. Lets hope for the best.
The Shield Portable people are stuck with a poor Lollipop build too. I think NV is done supporting the Tegra 4 hardware.
They are having enough trouble making MM work properly on the Shield Tablet. The first release had lots of problems. Last week they pushed another update but then pulled it because it was breaking wifi for many people. Ugly stuff. But other people claim it is solid. So who knows. Heh.
Don't know about the official builds but shaky is already working on a custom marshmellow
No developer interested in this device?
I am a noob, but would have loved to see marshmallow or nougat on this device.
Android 7.0 source code released. Much quicker than I thought.

According to android police the final build of Nougat is based off the Marshmallow dev preview 2. So maybe this will help in bringing it to our devices faster

Unless I'm misunderstanding, I'm pretty sure you mean the final Nougat build is based on Android N dev preview 2? Wasn't named Nougat back then (April 2016, when N preview was released), and Marshmallow dev preview 2 would have been a year ago (2015).
By the way, do you have a link to that story, because it sounds strange even that it's based on N preview 2, with 5 previews released. I'm pretty sure they did NOT revert any improvements. Preview 2 had the greatest speed improvements but the others after that had other areas of improvement, like stability.
Dev Preview 5 features include system images for preview devices, an emulator for app testing, final level 24 Nougat APIs (also available in Preview 4), plus bug fixes and optimizations

Seems more likely it was based on the final preview, Nougat Preview 5? Here's an article detailing all the preview builds and improvements...
Android 7.0 Nougat: release date, news and features
UPDATE: Nougat released for Nexus devices
https://www.androidpit.com/android-nougat-release-date-news-features
Its based on M preview 2. The full article can be seen here

It really makes a lot of sense. Its a major release of android, however the changes made are improved upon marshmallow source code, and even lollipop. N development started over a year ago, and even today there are devices running test builds of 7.1 and even "O" at google

Thanks. Interesting.
I've seen that the new roms release are based on oreo 8.0 not 8.1
I'm thinking if the jump to 8.1 is extremely difficult or HTC just wants to kill his brand with this bad support. I expect that not even HTC 11 had a release for 8.1
Whats happening here?
8.1 vs 8.0 is a big difference - lot of work is needed to have it working. At my work fully working 8.0 system after update to 8.1 was useless, lot of effort was needed to get it running.
So probably they will not do it for Ultra, too much money involved for already dead phone. There should be security updates at least as it's not as hard to implement it.
if they do another update it's probably android p... they still didn't release a stable oreo update for europe.
Android P will never arrive for sure. I've assumed it. So essentially, the only solution to get 8.1 is praying for lineage 15.1 what a pity for HTC.

LOL
Android P should come for U Ultra. And about 8.1... not every phone will receive it. Only those which comes really close to Stock Android like Essential Phone, Nokia, One Plus, etc.
Phones like Galaxy S8, G6, and U Ultra, U11, won't receive Android 8.1.
Any luck with a build?
Guess that's a no
bump
Woot woot
Our guy @Travisholt92 has made a few posts regarding his intent to get Pie for the K20 Plus, with a possibility of skipping porting Pie altogether to get a working ROM on Android 10. But as far as I know he needs to wait for some official releases on similar devices in order to build something that'll work on the K20. Plus some set backs have caused delays needing some equipment to build and test the ROM, esp with 10 requiring Treble compatibility. So, couple that with waning activity on here and people switching to other phones, we may never see P or Q on this K.

Once I order a back camera and H flex ribbon for the rear speaker. I can start working on this device again. Lately I've been working on the Stylo 3 plus which is in the same product family
Project update?
Is there any updates on the project? I hope we see most features working..
Last rom upgrade had a lot of missing features

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Pie ROM for the K20. I'm pretty sure Travisholt92, the last remaining developer on these 'rums, has either moved on to another device or is working on porting Android 10, or both.
