Hi all.
I just noticed there's new firmware. Has anyone updated yet? In using an XT1572.
I'm rooted etc... So I can't quite simply update.
Should I be flashing the last stock firmware i have and then update? The last fastboot I have is the February patch, but my phone is on the May patch. Whatever firmware i flashed gives me another language in the update notification screen...lol.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'll just do my thing blindly.

After your post, I rechecked the update service on my phone (xt1572 also). I got also new update here, but right now I cant do update (rooted + xposed). WIll try later, but I suppose that there is just new security patch. Strange that I got another version..
EDIT:
fount out Motowebpage
it look like the only improvements are - September security patch there.
Is the update for India dual sim xt1572?
I've installed the update today. The download size was about 40 MB, so seems to be a small patch indeed. I can confirm that it contains the september security patch, haven't noticed anything else yet.
I do think it's a shame that Moto is lacking so much in the update department lately. This is a security patch of two months ago... Also I would have expected them to have news on Nougat by now, at least for their Moto Z family...
6.0.1 ? at the time of 7.0?

it's not 6.0.1 update it's only security patch, we already had 6.0.1 in eu for a while
Has someone already tried the update with Flashfire? Im Rooted, on Frankenclark and Xposed. Does anyone know if we can get a flashable zip to flash in TWRP? To much work to go back to Stock, update and install everything again. Is the patch it worth?
Sent from my XT1572 using XDA-Developers mobile app
can someone upload full firmware for retasia? thx
We have to wait for Moto to release/leak the firmware image, the OTA zip won't do any good... This usually takes 2-4 weeks, sometimes more, to get the factory image. Be patient.
BTW, it is nothing special, all it does is patch to the Sept 1, 2016, security update, including Dirty Cow (which if you have been following the security threads is pretty much worthless on Lollipop and newer devices anyway)

FYI that forumer have been banned so no point tagging him LOL,
I tried installing this with Firmware Finder but it crashes after 5% when I attempt the install (power volume up) from micro sd... The update from the EMUI app doesn't appear.

Updates for Mate 9 can not be installed from mocroSD (except two offline full ROMs)
You must use "install via system update" function in FF. But so new OTA doesn't approved to install.

That is the version I used until switch to Alexa USA beta.
It's good update, but security is February not March. Also kernel build is a little older. Now finally everybody can install using FF maybe. Anybody has done?

As you can see paying money won't make you any happier, you are switching from firmware to other
I prefer to wait for an ota stable release for free
Between huawei are not slow pushing the updates.

For me, no. Beta is very fun. Trying new features first, I enjoy it. But I think Huawei very slow with update. I mean make update authentication. Post to FF but waiting so long for authentication failed, so I make my choice to pay money and try many things faster.
Anyway many update coming now. So I want to know what's next! For you already very nice battery life but for me I hope for more optimised.

Is there anyone use this rom from updating by OTA (stock system updater app, not Frimware Finder or FunkkyHuawei)?

I don't think that you can update by OTA, if you try to update with firmware finder it says that its not signed.

Fine here as well......what about dialer and settings? ....are both apps working. In my case after installing and just wiping cache, both apps were closing immediatel. After a factory reste everything is working fine.
The same, setting a dialer error. Wipe cache a factory reset and all OK
Has anyone tried again to update with FF? Maybe they signed it
Found that the device (L09 and L29) is not certified in Google Play, but the update in Google play still runs OK.
Hi,
I have an Huawei P10 Plus Dual SIM VKY-L29C636 with the current running Firmware VKY-L29C636B172
The last update was in November 2017 since then I don't get any new Updates displayed in the settings.
I downloaded the App "Firmwarefinder for Huawei" and it shows me the following newer Firmware Versions:
VKY-L29C636B210
VKY-L29C636B211
Does anyone use this new Versions?
Should I update to one of this new Versions?
Just check firmware access see if you approved to update. My FF already shows B301 which is Oreo but denied access when checking it.
Depends where you live. I got tge same phone and I don't have access to download and update.

The latest model is 211 and you can install it via HWOTA. I don't know anyone using this version. But probably there were no changes after all. Only simple performance tweaks. Otherwise software already stable.
For me latest firmware is 321 however says not authorised to download it..
I've installed the new Version VKY-L29C636B212
It has the Android Security Patches from January 2018
The first thing I discovered, that the phone runs a lot smoother, espacally when scrolling websides in Firefox.
The secound thing I discovered, is that the phone has more free ram, old Version round about 3,6GB, the B212 has 4,5GB free ram.
This are the first impressions, if i discover more, I let you know.

You download full OTA or OTA?
I did the Full OTA, but be carefull there are 2 Versions!
The Version with "PV" didn't work and almost bricked my Phone. I had to load an older Version thru recovery to get it back working.
The Version "FullOTA-MF" is working fine, I only had to wipe the cache and make an Factorydefault after updating, because the phone was in
a boot loop.
My Phone is running fine with the Version 212 and has now a way better Batterylife :good:

That's mean I am on 172, if I want update to 212 I should use the one without PV? Sorry if I asking too many questions
Rollback firmware means what version to what version? 360 to 212?

Yes use the normal full ota.

Yesterday my Phone was not approved. I looked in FirmwareFinder today and my Phone is now approved :good:
So should I update to Oreo thru FirmwareFinder or should I wait a day or two?
The normal Huawei Update says in the moment there is no Update.

Ota would come from your Huawei updater in over a week or so. Just update it if you authorised.
Now I have Updated to Oreo :good:
Everything works fine, I have only one question:
The Phone is using the Treble Project (see screenshot).
Why is there only one partition, does this mean that fast Updates are not working?

You have to have 3 partition for treble.. And even tho Huawei said p10 plus supports treble it's not the case. Or maybe need to do full factory reset so new firmware will partition correctly im not sure
Hello everyone,
I read several post about updating to Android 8.1 on the Moto G5 plus, but I'm still on Android 7 with Security Patch from January 2017. I never had any OTA updates. When I manually do a check, there are no updates available.
Here is a screenshot:
I'm also unable to update to 8.1, but I think the problem is that I first needs the security patches, before updating to 8.1 will work.
It is no custom ROM. What can I do to get the security patches?
Screenshot unreadable, can you give software channel and build, both found in about phone section in settings.
Thanks
It is a thumbnail to the bigger one. Here is the link: https://tweakers.net/ext/f/pYZxVQJCcXqbkf5Q4zS5GXcq/full.png
I have no idea why your phone is not on the latest European software which is currently at NPNS137-93-14, take it your in Europe with a mainstream phone provider.
You could try fastbooting update or maybe using motorola update tool, sorry neither of which I have used, so cannot be of any help there.
OK, thanks for you reply anyway!
Is it possible to grap the OTA updates to NPNS137-93-14 manually?

I was able to grab the OTA with this:
https://motoota.lolinet.com
It has to run on a PC browser and you have to use the lines like the ones from a getprop command, for example
Moto G (5)
Blur_Version.25.226.11.potter.retail.en.US
RETEU
Sent from my Moto G5 Plus using XDA Labs
I recently bought Max Pro M1 but I am not getting any updates
My current build is .316(oreo), can I manually update it to .055(pie) directly?
Dont update your phone....the first version of this phone was so good for battery and other factors....native video calling also there...if you want to update directlh just go to asus site download 1.5 GB latest update to root of your internal storage...restart your phone you will see notification for update

Oh ok thanks
About the battery and stuff, Can I update it to oreo's lastest version (. 340) without having any problems like battery drain or the other factors you mentioned above?
I won't update it to Pie as it has many bugs
I think you should avoid any upgrade even for oreo you will lose native video calling....even in recent pie update they removed widevine certi. Support from l1 to l3
