hey bros, does enyone knows how to make google camera work on custom roms?
usually it just works on most custom roms... have you tried just flashing it with a gaps package that includes it? that should work. but then again, I've never had an issue with it when I installed it from the playstore either. it should work with no issues. Did you check to make sure all the correct permissions are set for it? if permissions aren't correct it will force close
Having the same issue on RR official. App requests permissions, once you have given them it crashes and crashes again whenever you load it up.
Google camera have some issue it just won't work for op2 be it any nougat rom

The solution is in the post above yours. Stop seeking...
As another user said before, this one should work:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...era-4-1-006-126161292-2-android-apk-download/
okey, so 4.1 version works indeed, but why newer versions don't work?
i would recommend you to flash STOCK GAPPS along with Any ROM which will replace the default camera application in the ROM to the Google Camera one which you can update later from the Play store itself

The google camera which is pre installed works well.But every time I update the google camera from Play Store it just force close.
Latest Google Camera versions do not work because they require camera HAL3:
https://source.android.com/devices/camera/camera3.html
Seems like no one has so far managed to get HAL3 working properly on custom OP2 Nougat roms. Devs have tried to enable HAL3 multiple times on OP2 roms, but have always reverted back to HAL1. In case of HAL3, the photos in portrait orientation are scrambled, and some apps have focusing issues. The most important benefit of HAL3 is the support of capturing RAW images. Other benefits include better photo sphere support, etc.
Latest HAL3 enabled rom release I know of is RR 5.8.2 from 25.02:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862705912
On that one the latest Google Camera 4.3 works, but portrait orientation pictures are messed up. Also RAW image colors are screwed up in OP Cam app.
I hope that the HAL3 issues are fixed after/if Oneplus releases Nougat for OP2, as currently it seems like it is either too difficult for devs to fix it or even impossible.

Since OOS3.5.8 sources has been released and OP2 has HAL3 support for quite a long time, do you think some of the custom nougat roms could take this advantage to enable HAL3 supporting? And have you heard anything about it? I want to switch to custom nougat rom but camera functions always make me go back to OOS.

Can anyone please upload link for potrait mode camera for oneplus2 ...Gcmod5 not working and it is displaying a black screen when potrait mode is selected.can any one please help me with this prob??
Hello,
I found that by adding the following lines below in build.prop, the EIS becomes functional in recording videos using the apk mod of the Nexus 5 camera.
Add the following lines;
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.is_mode=4
Unfortunately it only works in this camera application and autofocus does not work.
Download the apk on original thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/themes-apps/mod-google-camera-t3279714
It might work better on other roms and Nougat, I'm currently at smalleui 13.1 and the best camera app I've found so far was the Moto Z camera with the professional mode (sadly no EIS but it have autofocus working on video)
Edit: Works too on Footej Camera!
Edit²: I installed for the first time a nougat rom (RR) and EIS works in video on all app
Edit³: I'm just an Network engineer, i don't have any programming skills, don't ask for new features
Can you also post the link for the Moto Z camera that you use?

Sorry, i forgot to tell you that you must change on build.prop "ro.product.device"
(moto g4)
ro.product.device=athene
(moto z)
ro.product.device=griffin
On smalleui 13.1 all settings of professional mode works, on nougat (RR) only a few

The line "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" already enables it
On cuoco's v97 it's disabled by default. Thanks

Sure, see samples on attachments.
Only will work if you have enabled camera api2
Install Camera X from https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/themes-apps/mod-google-camera-t3279714?nocache=1 to use EIS on EUI.
PS: Video was recorded on 720p because file size limitation from xda

But I still need to do the trick you have provided yes? Editing build.prop as the first page ?
Take care.

Isk anythi g about build. Prop never touched it.. Just wonder about the possibilities
Thanks for the eis.. Its awesome :laugh:

Yes, EIS only works if you enable camera api2 and EIS line on build prop.
Make sure to change to read-only build.prop or else bootloop.

Nope, didn't work.
LineageOS Official works! It seems to be that the ROM must *not* have HAL3.
ressurrection remix official with oneplus 2 camera.all things works fine.
Try Cosmic OS.
Or ViperOS. Only few ROMS's still have HAL1, unfortunately. For some reason everyone says just "need HAL3, it is better", although I haven't seen proof of that. Only problems with it.
Currently running RR Official, HDR works (I think) but panorama still doesn't. It's odd that I have so much difficulty using base features on anything other than stock.
Edit: HDR says its working, but doesn't actually do anything. Tried on OP2 and OP5 cameras. Google Camera force closes.
I'm using Mokee OS with OnePlus 5 camera. Everything works fine.

Weird, that one should work with OP2 original camera zip flashed. I had it for some time, was ok but development stopped, it seems. By the looks of it, soon there will be no HAL1 ROM
go for official aicp rom
Any idea why google camera force closes ? Is there a fix to it ?
I installed the google camera ported to mi note 3 the only issue is ,it doesn't click HDR and HDR+ images (all appear green ) normal can works and video OIS 60fps
AOSPExtended version 4.5 (not the latest one) has working HDR thanks to HAL 1.
Hi,
Are gcam and call recording apps working fine after Pie update for the non-rooted M1's? Many users are saying otherwise that is why I haven't updated yet.

Hey,
as title says my A1 is rooted with magisk, running an android 10 custom rom. Everything works fine, but the camera is terrible. Which Gcam works stable, with Photo and video?
And do i have to do anything to enable EIS and camera2api or is it already enabled or is there a way to check it?
Thanks

https://t.me/mia1_gcam is a telegram group about all the ports of gcam for the mi a1, there is also www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/ that is about Gcam ports in general, you should check those out. In the last link go to "developers and modders" and search for the Mi A1, there are a lot of different ports so you have to test them and see which one works the best!
