I've grown tired of the increasing instability of this rom and the myriad data/voice issues with crazy outdated prl. I was going to flash the latest stock oreo from sprint/samsung but when cruising around I noted a post talking about flashing back to stock from root and it not working properly because of the 'verity bit' depending on the rooting method. I went thru the instructions post for my current rom and can't discern if that would be an issue for me. I've only got a couple months left with the phone before upgrading and just would like to be able to have everything work consistently.
suggestions about how to proceed? i had tried to use the samsung smart switch just to see what it would say, it recognized my phone as a g930u not p (obviously)

Hi all,
I've switched back to Touchwiz for the camera after having cyanogenmod on the phone.
Now it seems like a catastrophe - WIFI won't work with some roms (specifically touchwiz, and now touchwiz wont even boot) while making and receiving calls and texts won't work with lolipop or with cyanogenmod.
I've wiped totally in recovery before installing anything to ensure no issues, but I am at my wits end, about to buy an iPhone tomorrow because I need a reliable phone for business.
Any advice on what I might do? I have the I337M version (rogers)

If all else fails, Odin back to stock.
Give the lollipop Google play edition rom a try, it's been rock solid for me and many others. I will say that for whatever reason, I was never able to get WiFi working in the hyperdrive rom (since rls19) I tried changing modems and what not, but switching to a different rom worked workout issue. Try golden eye rom or one of the others from iB.

Which lolipop rom do you use, might you have a link? L is gorgeous
Will try other ROMS. I've attempted to ODIN back to 4.2.2 but wifi is not working even with clean wipe.
Hi All,
I currently have a Note 4 910G that is still 5.1.1 with no OTA updates available.
I have been having dramas with my phone rebooting sometimes every 2 minutes, laggy and generally unresponsive.
I have backed up the phone the best I can as its stock and not rooted. However I was going to factory reset to see if it fixed the issues I am having. I have decided that root and flash may be a better option though as back up is horrible on android and also some added features would be handy (titanium back up and tasker).
My question is I am not 100% across what exact files to use as everything I find is for a different version. I found the CF auto root application, however, I am nervous that the kernel that is listed on their website is based on 6.0.1. I am finding it hard to find the 5.1.1 N910G Kernel to use instead
Will this cause an issue or does someone have the 5.1.1 kernel I can grab prior to flashing.
I hope this makes sense and any help would be much appreciated. Sorry if this has been covered, I have been searching around for a while and couldn't find this specific enquiry.
Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help me better understand this.
I would like to have either DarkWolf or DarkLord on my Verizon Note 3. For a few months or so I've been running JasmineRom so I understand how to do it for the most part, but I seem to keep messing up.
When I tried to flash DarkWolf through TWRP, it didn't work. I had to end up doing everything all over again. Using Odin to flash the firmware, rooting it with the root tool, etc.
A few questions I have are: How do Kernels work and how do I go about using them? I know Dark Lord, from where I downloaded it, came with a Kernel. Except when I tried to flash to Dark Lord from JasmineRom last night... it ruined the device and I ended up having to reflash the firmware with Odin, etc..
I settled back on JasmineRom last night just so I had a rooted phone while I went to work, but I'd still really like to have either DarkWolf or DarkLord (not sure which is better, but at this point maybe I should say which one will work.)
Currently I'm flashing the verizon firmware OF1 on my phone and then I will root the device so I'll be ready to go.
Also, can someone direct me to a thread or youtube link that explains how to get twrp back on a device? I was pretty sure I got it through flashify, but when I tried that earlier it kept coming up with errors. I'd really like to get twrp back as when I used it to flash DarkWolf last night, when it messed my up phone, everything was wiped clean.
Also -- when dealing with my phone either during or after rom changes and so forth, is my phone still considered a verizon phone even though I have a tmobile sim card? I'd just like to know if there is a difference or not. I'm thinking no because the firmware is still VErizon, but I'd still like to know from someone here.
Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.
None of them work on N900v. but @Sczar made AryaMod to work with his latest version. and honestly its Amazing. you should give it a try.

Never heard of this. Thanks so much... going to give it a try!
Some time ago, I managed to unlock the boot loader on my Verizon Note 3, then flashed a newer TWRP recovery, and Temasek's Android 5.x ROM. Like others, I lost GPS at that point, and some other functionality. I shelved the phone for a while, recently pulled it back out, and updated it to Temasek's 12.3 ROM based on CM13. I still don't have GPS, and have been trying to roll it back to a prior version of something to get the GPS working again (like the guides I've found here on how to fix the GPS issue), but it seems like anything except the 2 Temasek ROMs I have fail out on install now.
The extra hard part for me is that since it was so long ago that I was messing with this phone, I'm not even sure what I did back then as far as what specifically I did to unlock the bootloader, and what recoveries I was using, so I'm not even sure what to search for now to figure out how to roll this back. I was fine even on KitKat, and only tried to get it running a newer ROM for one nav app that required Android 6.0, but if I don't have GPS, a nav app is pretty pointless, lol.
This is the wrong forum if you have Verizon model.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Flash odin to stock. I've heard that's is the easiest and fastest way to recover GPS capabilities.
I own a G950U and have been holding out updating dealing with the annoying system upgrade notifications since i'm still on bootloader rev.2. My question is, is it even worth the trouble of rooting and flasing the one or two roms that are avaiable for this model or should i just update and stay stock (as there doesn't seem to be much in the rom development area of samsung devices going forward)?
Im stuck at the same point. I kinda wished i never rooted my phone, and I somewhat messed up and got stuck in a bootloop. Long story short i fixed it and am running this root by PartyCyborg and I like it alot. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-partcyborgrom-aqi6-deodexed-t3702988 theres the link and its the newest one not previous versions. If your going to run a Root this is what I would do.
yea I run stock rooted And i debate wether to upgrade so my sim unlocking software can unlock mine or stay root And so far I have stayed rooted
Yea...It seems to be a matter of opinion if your a legacy rom/root installer or up-to-date current tech type...I belong to the latter so I assume i'd be happier with this option, I've checked out this rom and attempted install one time, but quickly reverted due to time constrictions, but now that i have the time am trying to decide (because it doesn't always go right on the 1st try, lol) Thanks for the input guys!
btw, which carrier do you use? I have Verizon and was wondering about the hotspot issues i've read about.
