How to root j7 prime SM-G610F Android 8.0 Oreo
Thanks to all

the method used in J7 Nougat doesn't work

OLD Android 7 Files do not work

I recently updated my j7 prime to 8.0.1, I tried flashing magisk directly using Odin, but whenever my phone boots up I lose network signal. So I had to reflash the rom all over again.

Tried on J7 Prime (2016) G610F and it's working. Use magisk v17.3. I installed thru TWRP however make sure to untick Auto Reboot and F. Reset; boot into recovery after flashing TWRP using hard keys.

Help me rooting my G4 Plus on Nougat!

I was running Resurrection Remix (mm) until Nougat started rolling out. I flashed stock firmware(MM) and manually installed the Nougat update. That obviously voided my root access. Now, when I try to flash SuperSU, the device is not booting into the system and stays in the bootloader itself.
Anyone on Nougat who's rooted or anyone who has any idea what this is about, please help.

If you mean noverity and nocrypt, noverity means it disables dm-verity which allows you to modify /system and nocrypt is just no encryption for /system partition iirc.

I have tested C636B521/B563, C432B560, AL10C00B577 & TL00C17B575 (in stock firmware). Rest of the region I think should be working.

Yes followed the steps one by one...
Edit: One thing worth mentioning is that I used the update_data.zip from the russian link, when I orignally installed Nougat this was the only file that worked for me.
Edit2: Redid the steps but used the update_data-zip posted by Sillanwali in his thread to update to nougat C432B560 but I get "Error: 7....."
After the step 4, I preconize to reboot the recovery. It's advised after a "Format data".

Make sure you are running unmodified stock firmware. As method above only patch boot img and push superuser files. Do not install decrypted boot img. It need untouched stock boot .
Once you completed the steps and reboot to system. It will normally bootloop twice then you will stuck at huawei logo about 3-5mins.

It's optional step but normally most of my experiments I don't even need to "reboot to recovery" but I will add it as optional step in OP.

It's just not working for me. I was on stock firmware, only unlocked bootloader, I did not install decrypted boot.img.
I left the phone for roughly about 15 min (one Fifa game) in screen, it doesn't get past Huawei logo and I haven't seen it reboot.
Edit: What about the update_full_hw.zip is that not needed after formating data?
Edit2: Tried again but these time rebooting into recovery after formating data as suggested by @franzyroy but it didn't make a difference still bootloop

Unable to switch on phone (maybe it got bricked)

Hi guys. Today after flashing twrp using Odin everything was fine. I went to the recovery mode to see whether it was properly flashed. It was installed properly and on exiting I saw that it it showed that my phone is not rooted and and I need to swipe to install it (though my phone was already rooted and supersu installed) . I switched on my phone and uninstalled supersu. Then I again went to the recovery mode and I swiped on the option to install supersu. But when the process was going on it somehow stopped (maybe I did it without my knowledge). Now I am not able to switch on my phone (I think it got bricked). ??? If I try to switch on it gets stuck in the Samsung icon and restarts from there again
What will I do now?
I had faced this problem.
Flash this file in recovery mode.
Go here and download That update file...
link is https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067&postcount=2459
Now go to recovery mode, connect usb and copy this file to you phone (sdcard or any).
Now flash that file and reboot phone.
Always click do not install when twrp says super su is not installed.

Root goes wrong?

I just tried to root my s7 edge nougat g 935f with CF autoroot. following tutorials. Just flash it with odin and now it is stuck in samsung logo the bright one. how to fix this ? I need to install android stock ?
thanks guys . a bit sad for now.
just fix it reinstalling stock with odin. any way to root the sm g935f?
I was able to root it with CF-Autoroot, but the latest builds have changed something that it's no longer working with them.
Look for Nougat build that is mentioned on chainfire's site for 935f device. Newer than that one wont work

You need to flash TWRP via Odin. (AP), disable Autoreboot, AFTER FLASH U NEED TO BOOT TO TWRP enable modifications.. then you need to flash dm verity disabler then flash root - supersu and it will work.. also you should format data thats in wipe IT WILL REMOVE EVERYTHING FROM INTERNAL STORAGE

No problem
my supersu dissapear after a factory reset. this sucks. I just factory reset because greenify bugs me the push up notifications from messenger. ****ty app. and now It seems to be rooted but isnt rooted at all. I cant install netflix or snapchat ( because root ) but neither I cant install titanium backup because it says the device isnt rooted. I cant install apps because it says its rooted and in the other hand I dont have super su privileges.
how to re root this **** ?
what is the best way to re root the device.
install stock with odin. then twrp then root again
or the dirty way just rooting through twrp again withouth reinstalling everything ? ( in this case i need to flash no verity opt encrypt again ? )
You need to do it like before. dm verity.. format data.. NOW bcz u want snapchat working.. Boot.. without root.. login to snapchat.. now go to back to recovery.. flash SuperSu latest package.. woah rooted and you can use snapchat without limits
---------- Post added at 08:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:55 AM ----------
You can do it without formating a data BUT you need to put SuperSu and dm verity on SD Card.. and you will be able to flash from SD card without wipe.
the problem was greenify. still greeenifiying apps after even I delete the app. I has to go back to stock with odin and flash twrp and root. the dirty way doesnt work. now It is working like a charm ty . the sound mod is the best <3

[guide] how to dirty flash open beta on 5/5t ( compitibility & magisk solution)

Hello there,
Although we have done these things tens of times recently we are having some issues with the updates if we are rooted and have magisk modules installed.
I just want to write a small guide to overcome these things which might be helpful.
1) Download the full update zip form Settings/system/system updates/ it is downloaded inside Internal/.ota folder which is hidden by default. or download from anywhere and keep in your storage.
2)Install and Open Mixplorer file manager (MANDATORY) from HERE (Trust me its the best file manager Thanks to @HootanParsa ) if you are already on Pie Be on latest blu_spark TWRP V9.100 HERE Thanks to @eng.stk and skip #3
3) Go to .ota folder open the update zip and delete Compitibility.zip (extracting and repacking is not necessary)
4) Go to Magisk Manager and disable all magisk modules. (Mandatory else there will be reboot issue)
5) Reboot to recovery and flash Full update.zip
6) Flash latest Magisk Zip HERE Thanks to @topjohnwu (it keeps your TWRP alive)
7) Reboot System
8) Open Magisk Manager and Enable all modules and reboot your phone
Cheers!!
Note: if you still get reboot issues just keep a latest magisk modules remover in your storage HERE reboot to TWRP and flash it and reboot to system.
Don't forget to smash Thanks Button ??

Might want to fix the link to MiXplorer. It takes you to the the thread, but opens it in reply mode.
Anyone successfully remove webview? Titanium shows Frozen and won't defrost. Debloater works great otherwise.

On H2OS I did delete that manually and installed bromite webview but it didn't work on OOS, BTW if you keep Chrome you won't have issues I guess.

And if you forgot to disable the magisk modules(like i did  ), just flash "Magisk Uninstaller" - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445, then the Magisk installer and then.... nooo more rebooting problem.
Thanks for the guide :good:

Guide updated with blu_spark TWRP V9.91 link no need to delete compitibility.zip now!! Cheers
Hello, after installing blu_spark TWRP V9.91 i cannot get into Recovery anymore, the screen remains black and the led turns on. I need to restart and then reflash TWRP thru their update application. Im disabling Magisk modules and have even tried setting the core only mode but nothing seem to work. I have tried installing blu_sparks kernel and it works fine, only recovery TWRP does not work. Im stuck not being able to install the ltest update since normal TWRP does not support it and for some reason the process explained in this forum does not work for me. Any ideas? I must be doing something wrong. Thanks in advance.

I think you are on Oreo or decrypted and blu_spark TWRP v9.91 isn't compatible with that as far as I know, so ignore that part and try using previous version.
Hi, yes, I'm on Oreo but encrypted. Anyway, I tried with bluspark TWRP 9.85 which actually boots fine but when installing the update I get the same error as with official twrp, some zip compatibility error. I did delete compatibility.zip from the zip file but still doesn't doesnt do the trick.
Regards
