Whats the best way to report bugs/suggestions with CM6 RC1 to cyanogen and his team?
For example...
In spare parts, there is an option to make the font size of the system smaller but when I select it and leave the menu. It reverts back to normal.
Another one being, in the customizable section of his settings where you can change the color of notification bars etc.... the color orange is not an option on his color wheel. I had to go find the HTML code for orange to input it myself.
I know these aren't major bugs but it would be nice to see a fix in future RC's

CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 2.2 (Froyo) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
This version is a release candidate, but you will find it stable for everyday use.
Code:

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Visit the CHANGELOG for a full list of changes and features!
All source code is available at the CyanogenMod Github! If you'd like to to contribute to CyanogenMod, checkout our Gerrit instance.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 6 to your G2 (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. WIPE
4. Install the ROM
5. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from earlier CM6?
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
- Please use the issue tracker whenever possible!
Please visit the CyanogenMod Wiki for step-by-step installation walkthroughs and tons of other useful information.
Known Issues:
* QuickKeys have not been implemented yet
* Bluetooth Voice Dialer will crash
* WiFi calling stutters a bit
The preferred method of installation is via ROM Manager, or you can head over to the CM Forums for manual downloads.
Thank you to EVERYONE involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging and documenting! Enjoy!

Although the Xiaomi Mi 2 is almost five years old, and it seems there would never be a working nougat/oreo ROM after ivan stopped the development of his AOSP project, but it's not the truth. As the issue of light and proximity sensor have been fixed, I think most of the system components are stable enough for dialy usage after my couple days tests, so I decide to release the AOSP 8.0.0 to you today.
Install:
Please make sure your phone haven't modified the stock partition. It means my rom only work with the latest miui-dev partition table, so you have to Download lastest Mi 2 Developer tar file and flash using fastboot before install my oreo/nougat ROM . This process will earse all data on you phone, so backup all data before you getting start.
1. flash stock miui developer by fastboot update (http://en.miui.com/a-234.html)
2. flash twrp recovery use fastboot and reboot
3. hold power and volume up key to boot into recovery mode
4. install oreo or nougat ota package
5. wipe data and cache (you have to do this even if you are using ivan's aosp marshmallow/lollipop)
Working:
(Note: I use Mi 2SC with CDMA network support, but I don't have an available CDMA SIM card right now for test, so users with CDMA network might have trouble with RIL)
- Audio (bluetooth headset not test)
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- RIL
- WIFI
- FM
- Sensors
- GPS
Credit/Thanks
Special thanks to ivan for the initial device source tree and his preview works on Mi2 device.
Many Thanks to @AdrianDC @Ziyan for their great work to bring Android Oreo to MSM8960 platform.
Also thanks to @m11kkaa (M1cha) @zaclimon for their projects.

UI is very unsmooth. After installing gapps got 'setup wizard has stoped' error. Can it be fixed?

if you open logcat and got error like this:
Code:
I zygote : Rejecting re-init on previously-failed class java.lang.Class<com.google.android.gms.org.conscrypt.NativeCrypto>: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[DexPathList[[zip file "/system/framework/com.android.media.remotedisplay.jar", zip file "/system/framework/com.android.location.provider.jar", zip file "/system/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore/PrebuiltGmsCore.apk"],nativeLibraryDirectories=[/system/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore/lib/arm, /system/lib, /system/vendor/lib, /system/lib, /system/vendor/lib]]] couldn't find "libgmscore.so"
this is a temporary solution.
1. extract Phonesky.apk and PrebuiltGmsCore.apk from Core/vending-arm.tar.lz Core/gmscore-arm.tar.lz (320/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore) in opengapps zip file.
2. extract Phonesky.apk to Phonesky and extract PrebuiltGmsCore.apk to PrebuiltGmsCore use any zip software, or you can run:
Code:
unzip PrebuiltGmsCore.apk -d PrebuiltGmsCore
unzip Phonesky.apk -d Phonesky
the Phonesky and PrebuiltGmsCore folders should like this:
Code:
➜ ls Phonesky
AndroidManifest.xml
android-support-multidex.version.txt
assets
build-data.properties
classes2.dex
classes.dex
com
lib
libs
META-INF
org
res
resources.arsc
Code:
➜ ls PrebuiltGmsCore

assets
build-data.properties
classes2.dex
classes3.dex
classes4.dex
classes.dex
com
googledata
HACKED-META-INF
lib
META-INF
org
res
resources.arsc
3. then, push the lib to your phone by adb:
Code:
adb root && adb remount rw
adb shell mkdir -p /system/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore/lib/arm/
adb push PrebuiltGmsCore/lib/armeabi-v7a/* /system/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore/lib/arm/
adb shell mkdir -p /system/priv-app/Phonesky/lib/arm/
adb push Phonesky/lib/armeabi-v7a/* /system/priv-app/Phonesky/lib/arm/
it should works now, tested with gapps nano.
It seem like an uncorrectly odex/install problem, I need more time to investigate it.

It seems that my kernel not working on 13MP camera, according to the feedback.
I think Mi2S with 8MP camera should work fine as I using 2SC 16GB with 8MP camera. I think it's really smooth after had a data cleaned boot. Even after I installed the opengapps, it's smooth as usual. Can you describe you usecase or record a short video that shows UI stucked.

About Project:
Cardinal-AOSP is a Custom ROM which was initially based on AOSPB, then we changed our mind and rebased it to AOSP-RRO, to get better compatibility with most of the devices. And now we are based on AOSP on oreo.
The main aim of this ROM is to bring stock AOSP experience as much as possible while maintaining performance, smoothness and good battery backup.
I hope that you'll all love this project, and help us, shape it even more better.
Meanwhile, all of our sources are publicly available on our Github. We also do own a Google+ Community, where you can.... uhm... you know, do what all others do at forums and communities! Hope you enjoy your stay and like our work on Cardinal-AOSP.
Changes on top of AOSP
NOTE: we won't be accepting any feature requests, and only essential features will be added to enhance stock AOSP experience.

It allows easier installation of MicroG. MicroG is an alternative to Gapps where you don't rely on Google Play Services, it provides the end user with more privacy from Google however some developers have claimed the signature spoofing opens up a security loophole but I have seen others mention they are using that as an excuse to avoid falling out with Google, I won't name anyone involved as it's controversial.

I'm wondering what's the process to install MicroG here?:
Do I have to flash the ROM, then Gapps, load Android, remove Gapps and then install MicroG?
or can I just install the ROM and then MicroG? I feel like doing that the phone may fail to boot?

Yes, it's working for me on my P2C72 with an F2FS format Data partition. I can't speak for the P2A42.
Can this rom be used as a daily driver ? The reason I am asking is because the developers have marked it beta. Now I don't use volte or NFC so I don't have any issue using. Just need to know if the rom is stable enough and don't restart frequently or loose mobile signal. Please let me know

It seems stable to me so far. I am having trouble getting Magisk installed but I just found out I can use ext4 and still have fingerprint working so that could be it.

This one is a lot more up to date and as a result has less bugs.
I couldn't get Magisk to work the install.zip created an error most times, and it soft bricked my phone when I had it set to F2FS.
I went back to EXT4, flashed SuperSU and I have root access now. I think I have MicroG working mostly but I haven't been able to add the F-Droid repository yet.
If anyone is interested in getting root access and SuperSU working I will post up a tutorial, it took me a lot more trial and error than you might expect.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will also try this ROM but I have to wait 7 days till Bootloader is unlocked. I will also root my P2 so I will be glad if you make a tutorial for this.

Fingerprint works but FP gestures will not work.
Any hope for FP gestures in this ROM?
I have found a few bugs and issues:
- Video recording doesn't work, the camera is very dark and playback produces a still image with sound (will try Footej camera again) Footej camera works for video recording but the exposure or ISO is still very low.
- After the phone enters deep sleep (from not using overnight), I couldn't unlock the screen, the display stays black until reboot or mashing the buttons a lot.
- Signature spoofing for MicroG shows as unsupported (see screenshot at the end) I have tried using Snapchat and it says Google play services aren't supported on my device, I installed MicroG following the tutorial on Github exactly.
- The screenshot from power menu isn't timed correctly it creates a dull and dark screenshot because of the transition, on a similar ROM it was often taking a screenshot of the power menu itself and not what is displayed on screen.
- Always on display should not be used because the clock is a still image, on an AMOLED screen this will eventually cause burn in.
- Expanded desktop doesn't work as it should. After the navigation bar buttons disappear they are sometimes still pressable, ie: I have Nova Launcher behind the home button, I wait until the home button disappears but when I press the Nova app drawer button it press the homescreen instead, I had this bug on other ROMs too so I assume it's ported from the LOS base.
- Kernel Adiutor crashes on boot
https://imgur.com/a/QmagX
Everything else is working fine so far.
You can ignore this my phone was being buggy and didn't fully flash the new ROM.

Magisk only works with ext4 file system! And video recording issue has been there since many days not an issue now! Screen unlock is normal see if you have disabled some app bymistakenly.

Yes, I meant I installed it with ext4 data partition and during the install it gave me some error. SuperSU works anyway so I prefer that.
The screen unlocking doesn't work properly; when you have expanded desktop turned on. That's the issue and I had the problem from a clean install with only that setting changed. If I turn off the navigation bar, or turn off expanded desktop then it's fine. Turn it on and blackscreen instead of screen unlock. I think it's relating to the encryption on my phone because when I was using F2FS it fixed the problem.
I will try to flash again if you're sure video recording isn't an issue it seems like some settings are hanging around for no reason, considering I did a full wipe pre-install it's odd unless these bugs are exclusive to the P2C72 (I read somewhere it uses different camera hardware).
Btw, I was thinking with Magisk since the problem comes down to the Moto/Lenovo kernel if I flash your Magma kernel before install would that be a workaround for the bug or is the fix not included yet?
Thanks

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Cool, could you maybe write a short review of the rom? Your experinece? Bugs/features/etc.? It would be very usefull for all, because there is almost no information about this rom on Redmi 5.

I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

THANK YOU im testing it, just flashed thanks
You shared an img file which you didn't mention about flashing but when I flashed it my phone kept turning on and off.
Hi @bennychs61, first of all thank you for this amazing development. The rom feels good however Yumi vendor does have some drawbacks but does not mortify the user experience. Amazing rom but still requires a few tweaks to tune it out universally.
Here are a few issues I faced -
1. 4G Mobile data does not work
2. Lot of stutters when opening various apps
3. There seems to be some issues with processor tuning due to which the phone heats up during small workloads
4. Like many roms the compass does not work which is fine as it is not a major necessity
5. Display refresh hertz does not match which creates some jittery animations
The issues listed above are common to a lot of roms including EvolutionX 4.1, HavocOS 3.3 and versions 4.0 and 3.0 respectively. However I see a lot of potential in this rom because if we ignore the issues above then this rom seems like an all rounding win.
Tested on J600G. TWRP 3.2.3
+A few jokes hidden in the settings were good.
