My friend has a Xiaomi Redmi Pro that he picked up on a business trip to China. I want to build him a ROM based on AICP Oreo. Are there any sources / device trees for Oreo 8.1?

Mtk cpu dont got sources so no luck.

I recently found out that CyanogenMod is dying ... *crying in desperation* ... What will i do now ? I was planning to install CM cuz MIUI looks and feels kinda weirdo ... I don't like it's iOS similarity. What will we do now ? Maybe there's LineageOS to come or something. Or Windows 10 on Redmi 3s will work ?

Basically nothing will change, we didn't have official nightlies so we aren't dependent on CM servers, zwliew builds by himself. The only thing that matters is the source code, which has already been forked on Lineage. Tl;dr don't care, things will sort themselves out. The only thing we can do, is to donate to the new OS.

Let mi release kernel source than after no stopping in development of land our device maintainer is more active than anyone on cm earlier now on lineage

It's still in development, and not stable yet. Have patience and enjoy nougat.
Xaiomi has finally released the kernal sources for Mi A1.
Can't wait to see an Official Paranoid Android ROM for our device ?

Better than nothing. I think we could have good custom ROMs anyway. Remember the cancro. We have some really amazing custom Oreo 8.1 ROMs at the moment.
BTW i would use a excellent N ROM as well (something like RR, NOS, DU or similar)

Hi, circa 15-30 August will be global beta MIUI 10 Oreo for MTK Note 4. Sadly, there will be no kernel sources. Now is closed china beta. Works perfectly, antutu 98000. Thx xiaomi!!

Years of experience with Xiaomi.
Take a look at the other Redmi Note 4 (Mido). It got MIUI 10 but still runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), not even 7.1.

It was question to OP, not to you. I am using Snapdragon version and I am angry that Redmi 4x and 4a got 7.1 and Mido only 7.0. And I cant believe too that Nikel will receive oreo update. So OP should prove this.
I think they will receive the Miui 10 yes, but in version 6.0 of the android.
I do not even care, I really like miui.
