How to? G950f android 8.0 root - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi all
I was reading around the forums and could not find a good guide for my specific phone.
What I need: just to root my s8. Nothing else. Only root it.
Is it possible to root my model without installing any custom bootloader and if yes/no how do I root my s8?
(I did search on xda for this but I'm afraid to use a wrong guide and be in danger of bricking my new phone..)
Info :
Sm-g950f
Android 8.0.0
Many thanks for anyone leading me to the right direction :good:

root the updated galaxy s5

so I got a Galaxy s5 in august. The phone is awesome as is, but I really want it rooted. I tried towelroot, but that failed because my phone runs on kitkat 4.4.4. I then tried Odin3 v1.85 to attempt it. This didn't work either. What other things can I try?

Hello,
Generally rooting a samsung device is fairly generic. However before I suggest a method I need to know the model number and variant of it you're using. Some devices have locked bootloaders which may require a different method to avoid damaging the device.

[Q] Help/Questions regarding rooting Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 4.4.2

Hi all,
It has been a few years since I rooted my last Android device and I seem to be having some difficulties in rooting my current Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 running Android 4.4.2.
Please see attached screenshot of my phone Baseband version, build number, etc.
Are there any supported root methods for my device?
How important is the build number/baseband version when attempting to root?
I seem to be able to find root info for similar devices although quoting a different build number etc.
I attempted to use the chain fire auto root and selected the root file for the Qualcomm international and it did flashed in Odin and showed PASS but did not grant SU privileges.
Luckily my phone was fully functional after a hard reset, although I am wondering whether these methods of rooting are still working for my version of Note 3.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
For ease of reference my build number is:
KOT49H.N9005XXUENE3
Is there a possibility that it is not possible to root my SM-N9005 due to the particular build number?
Bump - ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated!
I have attempted to search around for any useful threads, although I am not having any luck.
Can anyone even suggest a method which I could investigate further, or even possibly direct me to an existing thread which may prove useful?
Thanks in advance,
Alex.
Flash latest TWRP to the N9005 through Odin. Then boot in TWRP and flash the latest cf root from chainfire.
http://download.chainfire.eu/352/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
That's how I do it all the time and have no problems.

Do I have SM-G950U or G950V

Hey folks,
I recently purchased a SM-G950UZSAVZW to replace my old S5. My question is, for rooting purposes is this a 950U or 950V?
From my understanding this changes my root method, also possibly depending on rev1 or 2.
I want to be able to root but hide with something like magisk for various sites/apps that don't like root. (it's my device dang it, and I am honest!)
Phone should be here tomorrow, and I can grab more specific info if needed.
Thanks for the help!
I believe I have found the answer to my question. Confirmation would be great.
It appears that the SM-G950UZSAVZW has been shorthanded to SM-G950V various places and indeed are the same thing.
This means that I can follow this link taking note of my firmware version U1 or U2 before beginning.
...correct?
Assuming that things go pear shaped I could always flash stock with odin? I am not finding recovery threads with root (e.g. TWRP) like I did for my S5
*edit* found the snapdragon version on the TWRP site (https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys8qcom.html)

Again not sure, but that B right at the end stands for a B bootloader. That means you can't root it because there is no exploit/Engineer boot file for it.
i have the same build i don't know if there any root method for this device :'v
