I recently installed Optimized LineageOS 14.1 on S4-L720.
The install process went without the glitch. Everything was responsive and worked without the glitch. But as I started to add some apps, things slowed down dramatically. the screen does not respond that well to a touch and apps hang/crash more than I'd like to. Rebooting the phone does temporarily solve the problem. Has anyone seen such problem? Is there a some OS memory leak and more importantly is there solution to this problem?

I have rooted my Zenfone 5 and it worked fine with no problems at first. Apps runs fine with out crashing or lagging.
However after a few weeks from rooting my phone, I've noticed some poor performance. some apps jitters/lags or just crashes. However, if an application crashes, be it a game or something else, my whole phone crashes. I find it strange when a game/app crashes everything else crashes, ZenUI stop responding etc..
I have no idea why is this happening because I have not downloaded any apps or anything from the internet during those weeks. (aside from apps updating it's self from google play store)
I have no choice but to hard reset the device by holding down the power button. I did try to reinstall the applications that crashes but it's still the same.
Any help or suggestions? I'll probably try to unroot my phone later if it fixes anything.
If you still have the problems, flash the firmware fresh.
So I am debating on loading a custom ROM. I have had the lineage rom on my Nexus 6p before. But it went in for warranty repair and I have kept it stock since. I have noticed that after some time on Oreo and all the apps I use, it was getting a bit slow... so I factory reset it and it seemed fine for a while. But now it is back to acting up where occasionally I get majorly bad lag time when launching apps or even trying to access the keyboard. I don't know if this is an OS problem under load or perhaps a hardware problem. Does anyone know if putting on a custom ROM (oreo) is likely to resolve this? I would hate to spend the time if it is a lost cause.
Even better... is there a phone app out there that will give me a real deep diagnostic of phone CPU and memory? Seems like antutu and all the others really dont do that much.
My wife has a Nokia 5 which seems very slow at times. Apps are very slow to open, if I restart it, it fixes the apps issue for a while. Ids there anything I can do on the phone to solve the issues? If rooting and installing a custom rom fixes the issues then Im good with it. Anyone else had similar issues and solved the issues by rooting? Nice phone, good sise screen, just buggy as f*&k. Thanks in advance guys
hey guys i have the phone for almost a year now, without problems but suddenly the fingerprint sensor stopped working and the phone was lagging extremely hard, the sensor works partially but not with a recognizable pattern, sometimes it may work (if im lucky to enroll a FP)
ive tried everything, re-partitioned back to stock, flashed stock, changed kernels, flash non treble, every rom has the same problem
does anyone else faced any similar issues?
I've been looking around to solve this issue, but haven't have much luck. It looks like it's an issue with a good number of ROMs on this phone, but my issue is that after some time, the touchscreen in some games and apps stops working normally.
Phone is running Lineage 16, rooted w/ magisk
To have it work, I need to hold one finger on the screen and the other finger will register properly.
The issue can temporarily be fixed by rebooting the phone.
I notice the issue occurring when an app/game accesses the camera. At that moment, issue occurs.
I came across this in my searches: https://review.lineageos.org/c/Linea...ative/+/198809
Not sure exactly how to work with that, but I figured I would provide as much info as I can before asking for help. Thanks ahead for the help
