Galaxy Tab A SM-T350 in boot loop - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hi folks,
Relatively new to this whole flashing business, so please bear with me. I've got a SM-T350 that had 7.1.1 installed on it, and I wanted to revert to 6.0.1 (any Marshmallow really). I downloaded and flashed using Odin and this firmware (sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-a/SM-T350/XAC/download/T350XXU1BPK1/111485/), and I'm now in a boot loop - essentially, the tablet boots, a bunch of processes stop/fail, and then it reboots.
So, I'd love some help getting going again. I'd prefer to get going with Marshmallow, but if I have to run Nougat, that's better than my current situation.
Thanks so much!

download Samsung Kies 2 on a PC and go through the process of doing 'Emergency Firmware Recovery' I think it's called. Kies will ask for you model number, and then the serial number and should allow you to factory reset it to the original firmware. Be Careful what ROM's you use to flash, which specific version of Odin you use, also what options you select in odin.
That's your best bet right now. even if you want to root again you have to flash to stock firmware using Kies on a PC (way easier if it allows you), or you have to use Samsung SmartSwitch which will not restore/upgrade a rooted devices, in my experience. I've had to use both before for my Tab A (SM-T550). Hope this helps.

[Q] Quick Question If Someone Has a Moment, Please

I just swapped from my Amaze 4g, to a used Note 3, and I'm a little lost as far as where I should start.
It says that it's on 4.4.2, and that I cannot update due to a modified system.
Basically, I would like to get updated to 5.1.1 (or as close as is official for the Note 3), and root it.
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Samsung devices, and because I purchased this from ebay, I don't know how to tell the exact state that the former user put it in (I expected they would return it to stock prior to selling).
It's currently a T-Mobile branded, SM-N900T, on 4.4.2, build is KOT49H, security software MDF v1.0 release 2. Kernel is 3.4.0-660648.
It is supposedly unlocked for carriers, though I have not attempted a SIM card use yet, until I can tell that what I have is a valid device and the IMEI is checked out.
Any thoughts on how to validate the IMEI, and sort out how to get my new phone up to date would be appreciated. As I stated, I expected the vendor would have returned it to stock, but that is clearly not the case, so I don't want to accidentally boot loop it by doing something I shouldn't. I have not owned a Samsung before, so I want to be careful on how it differs from my Nexus 7, Amaze 4g, and Droid X, as they're all obviously very different in the OS area.
Thank you for the help1
Download tbe stock 4.4.2 rom and use odin to install. Then you will get the OTA updates.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
There is no stock 5.1.1 for note 3, only cm12.1/ aosp. Latest is 5.0 and you can use odin to flash. Maybe it's rooted that's why you can't update.

Some apps to install from Play Store...
Phone INFO Samsung - this will tell you all about your phone and the firmware etc.
Root Checker Basic - tells you if you are rooted or not.
SuperSU - this is so valuable you should buy the Pro licence. Chainfire does some great work for our phones.
TWRP - I have the zip version on my extSDCard and an Odin version on PC in case I have to rebuild from a Stock firmware. CWN works OK but most ROM builds seem to be for TWRP I think and a backup from one will not work on the other.
I don't know your previous phone so you probably need Odin v3.09 - this sits on PC and lets you flash firmware to the phone. (connected by USB)
For which you need Samsung USB drivers so the PC will recognise the phone. Install on PC before connecting phone.
Then do some browsing and find the processes to root your phone and install the ROM you want. If you just want Stock and access to all your phone, you can root it after flashing the original v5.0 download (from Sammobile or similar site - note on Sammobile you need a free account to DL) and then install Custom recovery (if wanted - it WILL trip the Knox flag but that may not matter given it's 2nd hand and might already be tripped anyway)
Read, make SURE you understand what is being said BEFORE you do anything - ask if you don't.
Good luck...
N9005 Lollipop brick
Hi All, just need a huge help here, a friend of mine has been using a N9005 which was auto restarting, she went online and downloaded this firmware...N900AUCUEOC1_N900AATTEOC1_N900AUCUEOC1_HOME.tar.md5....2.5GB in size...and flashed it, but the phone is stuck in boot loop even after recovery wiping data and cache, the phone can boot into download mode but re flashing the firmware always fails.....is there a solution for this.....please help
Thank you all for the info, especially the detailed info from Journyman16. I checked, and it is flagged as custom, which is fine, so I'm going to go ahead and try to return to mostly stock, update it, and root it.
Ok, everything went well. I had to do two attempts at rooting, but I think it's just one of those things where sometimes it doesn't restart into the process every time.
All seems good. I'm on 5.0, rooted, busyboxed, and smooth sailing.
Thank you all, again, for the tips. The Note 3 is running very well. Thank you to all of the devs that have made this process so refined. I've donated to you before, and did so again today. It's outstanding to have such well versed coders, on XDA, helping out the community.

Yoga Tab 2 830f Is there a soft brick fix?

I've searched but apparently it seems like most of the answers have been deleted or redacted.
My problem...
I was just given a Yoga Tab 2 from my sister who has given up on trying to fix it.
The tab was on 5.01 and rooted when she got a system update. She ran the update but now the tablet freezes during/after the boot animation.
It will go into fastboot but is not recognized by ADB.
She tried to install the original Lollipop firmware through recovery but ended up getting a system 7 error.
This is exactly what I see when in the bootloader screen

I know nothing about Lenovo and how they do things but I know that with HTC you have to go back to 100% locked and stock before you can install an OTA. If you do try the OTA usually just won't install but unfortunately this thing seems to be at least soft bricked.
Is there a way for me to maybe roll back? I've read about people going back to KK in order to get the LP OTA but all links to the KK firmware are gone.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate any help I can get...
BTW, She is under warranty but of course she was rooted and is worried that repair will cost her almost as much as she paid for the Tab when they realize and void her warranty.
If its the same as the 1050f try these files.

http://tinyurl.com/zgt7sjo do not bother about the warning with this one, its something to do with its size, just download it.

Thank you. I used the Restore KitKat Bios you posted along with an 830F specific KitKat firmware from the Russian Lenove site. Worked fine after editing the flash.xml file to allow for a larger system.img file.
The tablet is now back from the dead. Unfortunately it gets the 5.0 update but fails in the Lenovo Recovery when trying to flash the OTA. It gets to 100%, stays like that for a bit and then a blue X saying flash failed. After that I'm back to a black screen and have to reflash the kitkat firmware to get up and running again.
I have no idea why the OTA flash constantly fails but I guess I have to do a bit more research and hope I can get her up to date.
Did you set the country code , without setting it updates fail.
Look at this advice from ionioni to me about setting the code

Outstanding!!! I entered the code in contacts and it gave me a menu of different countries to choose from. I Chose US and she rebooted, went into recovery, ran a bit and rebooted into another fresh install which looked completely different. We're talking different wallpaper, and different apps. After that it successfully installed 4 or 5 OTAs and as far as I can tell it is now completely up to date!
Android Version is 5.01
Build is S100250-160119
Kernel Version is 3.10.20-x86_64byt-g9f7fad7
Security patch is dated 2016-02-01
I'll wait a few days before I root and install Xposed just to be 100% certain it's up to date.
Of course my sister will probably ask for it back now.
Either way, THANK YOU VERY MUCH corasman!!! Your help has been invaluable!
I am so pleased it worked for you, ionioni helped me so much and now I am trying to do the same for others.

Samsung Galaxy SM-G928X stuck on startup screen!

I have been trawling the internet for literally hours.
This is my final hope before I get really desperate with this device.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Edge+ online as a demo unit so I could use it as a glorified tablet,
since it was a demo unit it had demo software which I tried to remove using the 5444 password
trick on the retail software to no avail. So I decided to root the phone using Odin and the
SM-G928 F/I/C/K/S software as i couldn't find the particular software for this phone anywhere.
This worked but every time I booted the phone it would give me the 'KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING'
on the top left of the device which I promptly ignored and continued to use the device, I downloaded
root check which said my device was rooted and then I downloaded system app uninstaller to try remove all the trial
software, which unfortunately didn't work. I then attempted a hard reset, which also didn't work and just
rebooted the device, finally i decided to download Flashify and TWRP recovery to try and delete the trial software
from there. At this point I was just messing around with the phone when I noticed a thread that said i needed
titanium backup to fully delete the software, so i rebooted the phone and it has been stuck on the bootup screen
ever since, I have tried several methods to get it to work including re-flashing the software onto it,
(the SM-G928F one I mean) but i simply cannot find the correct one for my device.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :good::good::good::good:
The device is running 5.1.1
I am not sure of the kernel or anything like that as I am quite noobish.

First thing to do is to get into STOCK recovery and do a "Factory Data Reset"
or you can boot the phone up and go into "Settings>Backup and Reset" and
select "Factory data reset".
After doing that odin flash the proper S6 Edge+ Lollipop 5.1.1 or the new Marshmallow 6.0 firmware.
You can see the exact model of your G928 phone by going into settings and scroll down to "about"
there you will find the specific model of your phone.
Be sure to ONLY odin flash the correct firmware for your phone's model.
Once you do all the above you will no longer see:
'KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING'
The only reason you see that is because the phone is rooted.
After odin flashing the proper firmware your phone will no longer be rooted
unless you root the phone again.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

I can't boot the phone up, if I could I would, I can't find the software for this particular model, which is aforementioned SM-G928X,
If you could help me with that, I would appreciate it. The phone is stuck on the Saumsung boot up, it doesn't actually boot up into
the lock screen so I can't do anything with it, if you could help me with link to the SM-G928X firmware that I could use in ODIN
that would be greatly appreciated cause the phone is a paper weight at this point.
I had a moment of madness and decided to do what you said anyway, and I can't factory reset the phone from the recovery menu as it says
its due to security policies or something of that nature, which again I mentioned in the initial thread.
Also to clarify, I can't flash my own firmware because I can't find the firmware anywhere on the internet.

I have done a bit of research on your G928X device and I think you are in luck.
Check out this link carefully http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=8759&c=samsung_sm-g928x_galaxy_s6_edgeplus_lte-a_samsung_zen
and you will see that the firmware in your phone is identical to many other G928 firmwares as you will see in that link.
Odin flashing any of the ZEN firmwares in that link cannot brick your phone, the worse thing that can happen is that it will not
work. (just like it's not working for you right now).
I would go a head and odin flash the S6 Edge+ G928T firmware which is also the ZEN baseband firmware, there are many S6 Edge+ phones
using the exact same firmware. All Samsung S6 Edge+ firmwares contain the modem but not all of them will be compatible with your
carrier but at least you will be able to boot your phone normally without getting stuck on boot screen or bootlooping to start with.
You can get the G928T firmware from http://sammobile.com OR
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762636004597 (fast download)

HELP!!!

Hi,
I recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 4.0 Lite (SM-T337a). I successfully rooted it using Kingoroot but upon restart the entire operating system seems to be gone. It is an overseas tablet (AT&T) that I got through the classifieds here in Australia.
There was nothing on there so I am not worried about losing data, I just want to be able to restore some form of OS onto it.
I can get into Android System Recovery <3e> and have tried installing the stock firmware through the SD card, but so far nothing has worked. I'm also having trouble getting my PC/Mac to identify it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
http://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
download this and make the process
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862688251
you have to flash the official firmware that you can find in sammobile and flash it whith odin. it should that your device is in download mod : down key home and power bottom on the boot
Look for the stock firmware for your model in this thread or somewhere in SamMobile, the language specified doesn't matter anyway cause you can always change that in setup but make sure that you've got the right one for your tablet. Then flash them using Odin

Device not starting/black screen after stock-ROM flash via Odin

Hello, everyone,
I tried to install LineageOS on my S10 Plus yesterday. That worked so far, but I found that it didn't have a decent camera app and the Samsung Watch wasn't that easy to connect either. So I thought I'd just go back to the Stock ROM again. I then downloaded the latest stock firmware according to this guide and installed it with Odin. The installation also runs through, after the installation the mobile phone starts and after the start screen there is an Android man with the signature "Erasing". After a few seconds, the device turns off and stays black. Even if I put it on the charger or try to restart it, nothing happens. I keep getting into download mode and recovery, but that's about it. Multiple reinstallations and resets via the recovery didn't help - the phone just won't start.
I used the CSC_... and not the HOME_CSC_... at the firmware is the right one for my phone.
Is there any way I can salvage the device? I'm afraid that something in the memory is defective now, which has nothing to do with the flashing itself. Do you have any ideas?
Many thanks!

I'm glad it worked.
I was very afraid that the phone died, what did you do for 5 days in this state?
Now I have a question in my mind: When Samsung releases an update in the future, will the bootloader and modem files be updated when we update it with odin? won't it be updated? After that, do we will always update manually as twrp? do you have any idea?
Well, I simply didn't use a mobile phone in these days. It was a very "interesting" experience, but not a huge problem. I sometimes opened WhatsApp as Windows App (interestingly, which works without phone).
I don't know, what happens at a Samsung Update, but until Android 13, I will not update (so probatly never). In our German forum (www.android-hilfe.de), a pre rooted and debloated "Stock"-Firmware is provided, but I can't install it, since my Bootloader is too new (V15 instead V14 for the ROM). When it is possible, I will install this firmware. If you are interested, here is the link: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...3-2022-stock-rom-v2-0-pre-rooted.1000713.html
