With normal routers the connection is really stable.
I have stable video streaming with wi-fi signal strength as low as -90dBm with average 15 devices overlaping in the channels, and this is in the 2.4GHz range. I can use the net from one of my neighbors, and he is 4 floors under me. I live in full concrete building...
The 5GHz is another story.
After few months I would be able to test it seriously at work when we`ll get new network equipment. There will be 5GHz in every room and floor, but the building is from USSR times and the walls are over 40 centimeters thick with floors over 1.2 meters thick (bricks and concrete) so it would be interesting testing how stable would be the traffic with so much people around. (over 500)

Give you 5 star for Wifi strength..
U11+ has an excellent wifi range and throughput. I get around -71dBm signal strength) from my router at a spot where my HTC10 gives me -83dBm. At that spot, U11+ maxes out the internet traffic, whereas 10 is limited to about 45Mbps. So, anyone with HTC 10 will appreciate the huge jump in performance of wifi.
Also, the idling issue found with HTC 10's wifi is not there in U11+. It does not eat through battery while idling on wifi.

Wifi Signal range is lower than average ,, I used devices like OP3T, Moto X Play,Moto G 2014 .earlier.
But Happily ,, speeds are equal or sometimes better than what my earlier devices giving, Specially 4g LTE speed.
I agree, the Wifi Signal range is lower.
It is very easy to tell for me, because there is one room in my house which is farthest from the Wifi AP. All previous mobiles (Redmi Note 4, OP3T) have been able to connect to the AP from this room. But Nokia 2.1 can't. The connection breaks as soon as we cross the room.

No problems so far
TL;DR -> It's Wi-Fi. Decently fast.
In the north-east room of my home sits a Linksys AC1600 Wi-Fi router. My bedroom and computer lab are on the south end of my home, about 150 feet away from the router.
The Fxtec Pro1 (aka clack) does not have any problems on 5GHz Wi-Fi. The speed on stock firmware is just fine, and the 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) gets fully used on the phone and the router. I've not done a ton of downloading, just a few NewPipe videos and mobile web browsing, but I have noticed no stuttering then or during app downloads.
This is a rather unscientific reply, but until more people get their devices and can weigh in, I suppose it will have to do.

According to me,
WiFi is above average, i usually get full bandwidth (24mbps) where as other phones struggle to get even 15mbps
The highest speed I got so far is 130Mbps in 2.4GHz 40MHz channel width sitting next to the router. Range is good too. Didn't try 5GHz yet.

Wifi speed is much faster on 5 II than on 5:
Did not measure but file transfer through wifi is at least 1.5 times faster.
Wifi signal is better than my P30 Pro. I only have a Wifi-5 network in my house, but the Xperia 5 II is able to consistently get 350Mbps speeds both up and down from the main rooms in my house. It even exceeds the performance of my P30 Pro outside in the yard and on the porch.
