This will restore your Indian variant Honor 7x back to stock, in case you have rooted or flashed TWRP before. After this you can get OTA updates and they will flash fine. If you want to manually flash OTA updates, you can continue to next video after watching this
I suggest you to watch it carefully and do same as I did to prevent any damages.

Thanks for the helpfull information.
I have the files for BND-L24 uploaded and want to share same method of restore , for US version. As the method is the same.
Would it be ok to link to your thread from a new thread with L24 files attached , or add the backup here and just change the title?

All the post I see about manually flashing Oreo say you CAN NOT return to emui 5. So I would believe no
**EDIT**
I see now on firmware finder there are roll-back to emui 5.1 full-ota packages.
right now only for
BND-AL00
BND-AL10
BND-TL10
but perhaps after flashing that full ota to get partition table back , then follow this method from here to get correct regional specific parts back.
All still untested at this point
Suppose if I install Other rom first like AOSP or RR?

I have no first hand information. Just that for RR you need to first update to Oreo, so same as before, the information at this point is, NO , roll-back is not able.
need help please

What if you used recovery and went to stock but you don't have system updater and when you try to update firmware it keeps failing is there anyway to fix this on my bnd-l24?
P.S no longer have twrp
Can I try it on my Honor 7X BND-AL10 variant.??Please reply

Your other post show you are on Oreo. This method, files linked are Android nougat.
You need to replace twrp with stock recovery, then wipe cache from there. This should fix your bootloop ,caused by wipeimg cache in twrp. Unless there is more to the story than you tell.

Well it twrp is not staying on, then fastboot will have to be the method to recover
Hope this will work
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
If those not work, or not allowed try
fastboot -w

the downgrade is tricky , if not done with full downgrade files. It is pretty much a half full update, then restore a backup. There are many things that could cause trouble with this.
Did you try to factory reset after failed OTA?

XT 1806 here. Well, not long ago I posted about thinking I found a way... well... nothing. followed every single thread on hoy to restore basemand/imei to no avail.
So far what I know is that I was running fine, while trying to make cerberus a system app. The phone rebooted and bam. No more baseband.
Before that, I had done the trick of installing an oreo rom (Validus) and going back to stock. It worked and I got back Baseband on bootloader and then in the OS.
I have backups from my EFS from TWRP and PartitionsManager (modem, modemst1, modemst2 and persist) within the OS. Restoring those was no good. It worked before but not now.
I have bootloader C2.06. Before, I had C2.07. Installing the latest update from https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto G5s Plus/Stock/ , being it SANDERS_NPSS26.116-61-5_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml did nothing to update the bootloader or writing the modem.
So far I have a theory and is that, the phone is not taking flashing to the bootloader and or the modem as it should. I am using a high quality USB cable. Changed cables, too. Also, I think something weird is happening with the bootloader or chip programming. It is the first time I face something as weird as this.
I also think it does not like when you start the phone and reboot it quickly. Forgot its Baseband.
Let's be detailed and share experiences to find a cause and then a solution. I have more than 30 hours spent trying to fix this and it is getting to a scary point.
I lost imei and signal....somehow I don't have my efs backup....tried every combo of ROM to get signals ie. something 2g/3g but nothing happens...
However my baseband is intact
Am on 1686 Indian varient
Q. Will moto z Oreo modem work?? Am planning to give it a try

You can start with this
Code:
https://www.androidbrick.com/ultimate-guide-qualcomm-snapdragon-xiaomi-mi5-imei-and-baseband-repair-fix/
and it's sister article part 2. I wrote a how-to on using QFIL to back-up and restore qcn files, and my research started there. However, after seeing how many cannot follow basic instructions to use adb/fastboot and even sometimes twrp, I am not going to post it. Let's just say you can edit the proper baseband components, but it is not going to be download and click to install. You will need the following to get started:
Code:
1.[QPST] https://www.androidbrick.com/download/download-latest-qualcomm-flasher-qfil-qpst-2-7-460/
2.[Qualcomm drivers]https://gsmusbdrivers.com/download/android-qualcomm-usb-driver/
3.[hexeditor]http://www.mitec.cz/hex.html
4.[IMEI convertor]https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962021903579482959
5.Motorola USB drivers [you probably already have these, if you have used adb/fastboot]
You will also need a knowledgeable donor who is willing and able to donate a working backed up qcn file, of the same make/model, and bootloader must be in same state as yours. Although this will have the IMEI , it can be edited to 0 out all but the first digit of the IMEI and thus be safe for posting without fear of someone cloning it. This method has been done with other qualcomm chipsets, and the ultimate goal would be to get the proper working qcn file disassembled and compared to the faulty ones to see exactly where the basebands are being corrupted by the Oreo roms.

In my particular case, it happened for no apparent reason. Quick reboots being a suspect here. It seems some got baseband and no imei, others no baseband at all... Any ideas on this?
dev here.
I've been looking into this problem for quite a while now.
Can anyone briefly summarise the problem? Like what all you flashed?
From my understanding:
efs = modemst1 & modemst2 = baseband cache = created on the fly
important baseband related partitions: modem, fsg, persist
Additionally I'm sharing potter retin (march) firmware files: (Download)
Try flashing this (on stock 7.0):
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash persist persist.img

I've just captured the Official OPP28.85-16 OTA for retail cedric and I'm posting it here. I'm on retbr channel but this will work on any retail device. If you're on another updated channel, I don't know what would happen if you installed this.
Notice that to install this YOU MUST be on NPPS25.137-93-2-5 to install these, since OTA's are not full firmwares like fastboot files, but instead they're patchings tailored to be applied upon a specific firmare - NPPS25.137-93-2-5 in this case.
Another particular detail is that the OTA file (gotten directly from my credric) lists the Blur Version as Blur_Version.25.361.10.cedric.retail.en.US, but curiously, the fastboot version for the same firmware ( which you can download here) lists it as Blur_Version.28.41.15.cedric.retail.en.US
Someone also reported in another thread that they just sideloaded this upon the Second Soak test. I wouldn't doubt it since this is what should happen to regular soak testers, but if you do it, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
I also won't post instructions on how to install this since they're already available here
Download
Gdrive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/149hrGFpuWUgAvJr02McYNwJVaqSvllYO/view?usp=sharing
That's it.
changelog?
Has anyone already tried it?
Since this is a (Delta) OTA Update that expects NPPS25.137-93-2-5 (Blur_Version.25.361.10) it should be correctly named "block_delta-ota-Blur_Version.25.361.10-28.41.15.cedric.retail.en.US" in my view.
Someone also reported in another thread that they just sideloaded this upon the Second Soak test.

Update fails from OPP28.85-13 since it expects either OPP28.85-16 which is the latest Oreo build (that I want to update to) or the latest Nougat NPPS25.137-93-2-5.
There is no OPP25. 85-16 build! I think you misread the error message.
BTW I updated from OPP28.85-13 to -16 using the full fastboot version and it worked out perfectly.

yeah, I actually misread it, now I see it.
Anyways, flashing it from fastboot doesn't prove anything. but seems like Cedric can be upgraded from the soak test to final version using this ota. Idk because I used fastboot myself too, since I had already modified my system partition.

how is speaker quality in this build ?
because there is some issues in previous oreo builds
Speaker
Hi,
i would say that for my ears the speaker sounds better than it was with Nougat.
After a few days of testing everything works really good and i have not found anything not working or any problems.

how do you get back to NPPS25.137-93-2-5
I followed the steps from this Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/stock-upgrade-to-official-stock-oreo-8-t3823598
- Unlocked bootloader (don't know of this is necessary)
- back to NPPS25.137-93-2-5 via the commands from the thread i linked (without the lines:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
)
- via ADB sideload with the Oreo download from this thread to Oreo.

to flash official Motorola files there's no need to unlock the bootloader.
you've just unnecessarily voided your warranty
@freeZbies
Hey is that twrp stock rom (137-93-2-5) the only thing we need to flash before going for the ota ? Cause I've been told that we needed to be on a completely unmodified system partition in order to receive the ota. In that case just flashing twrp stock wouldn't be sufficient right?

I dont know if the twrp version would be valid. To apply an OTA, your system must matchbit by bit, so the most guaranteed way is to flash that firmware via fastboot, but you could try flashing the twrp version, and in case it works, you could post the results here.
just dont forget that if the ota fails youll soft brick ur phonr and will only be able to recover it via fastboot

Thanks I'll keep that in mind
Being soft bricked,, wouldn't I be able to use twrp still? Like to flash a valid rom or one of my backups?
Anyways I can't really try it that way since the update hasn't come to me yet I'm on software channel Retca.
Edit : right I forgot that I could just use the official ota available here if I would like to test it.

being soft bricked doesnt necessarily mean you can recover it through twrp. OTA's are different of twrp flashables in that it modifies things beyond system partition. I've seen reports from people with other motorola devices who applied an OTA while having a modified system partition, and even though they were able to boot to twrp, flashing a custom Rom or restore a backup wouldn't make the phone boot. Their phones weren't hard bricked, but still they had to fastboot to recover their phones. Anyways, why don't you flash the Twrp flashable if, it's already available (considering you have an unlocked bootloader).
I'm case you have a locked bootloader you may fastboot without executing "fastboot erase userdata" in case you want to try. I did it without losing my data (although I was already in Opp 28.85-16)
but after all I really advice you to flash the twrp zip if u can
Hey guys, I tried flashing the stock moto oreo rom (october patch) through 1. flashing via fastboot and 2. twrp flashable rom.
Both methods worked but I lost my IMEI, regardless of which method I flashed the rom with.
I had made two EFS & Persist backups (one from resurrection remix rom and one from a twrp nougat june patch rom) and tried to restore them after flashing the moto oreo rom, but no success.
Can anyone help me with this? I really want to use the stock oreo rom!
Please help guys!
What version of twrp?
twrp which error during restore?
Ever flashed someone else's persist file when you were on stock?
I too am in the same boat, I upgraded to 8with the smart assist no isshes. and when trying to restore my efs and persits (backed up from android 7) with twrp it just doesnt work, hope someone has a fix

Try flashing one of the full flashable zips from that thread, get the last one. But in the installer, do not select firmware.
Hopefully that will get you going again. And no, don't ever install an ota.

Thanks for all your help is there any way to fix OTA updates? like relocking bootloader? or should I just leave that unlocked ?
I just installed \POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
and am getting a 3g \ H signal now but its a different sim card and service from original card, seems to be working now
Is it just oreo that screws everything up , I know this is all over but its not very straight forward
im no android expert clearly

Bootloader doesn't matter, can stay unlocked.
And the IMEI/4g problem is Nougat only, never heard of someone who lost something on Oreo or when updating to it.
If you flash latest Oreo firmware for your region (endings with 17-xx are US, 13-xx is for the rest as far as I know) you should be good to go.
Guys who are using TicWatch C2:

Anyone who own a global version could also share with it here to save other's device.
Required images for OTA:
aboot.img
cmnlib.img
modem.img
rpm.img
tz.img
boot.img
keymaster.img
recovery.img

How to flash:
0. extract the zip file.
1. fastboot flash <image_name> <image_name>.img
I hope someone can share the international version, thanks guys
THIS IS MY TWRP BACKUP OF MY TICWATCH C2 INTERNATIONAL ANDROID 8.0 OWDS.181126.001
https://www.mediafire.com/file/c6cuj...CKUPS.rar/file
This is my stock copy, I backed up everything TWRP allowed me to, just in case.
I installed the Ticwatch C2 rom, and I'm getting pretty solid battery life, but I'm not able to update to PIE, since I get an error as I mentioned, even when I flash back to stock, and lock the bootloader, so we're confined to custom roms from now on, or to TWRP backups of PIE.
So if someone has a TWRP, or a stock firmware backup of some sort of PIE for the ticwatch c2, that would be amazing.

That might because the OTA script check more than only boot, system or vendor partition, and that leads to the exception.

You should be able to get the error report and see which partition doesn't pass verification from the recovery log. Also I updated the list of images that OTA required.

I use dd under TWRP recovery. You can also use TWRP backup.
As some users report incompatible of international build. Also there is no Pie rom for our global C2.
Can you read Chinese? If you just want to use Google play, use this:

Yes, I'm Chinese. So the things I can do is unlock BL first, then boot into TWRP to backup, flash TWRP, Magisk & install the github module, right ?
Thanks again.

感谢回复,我安装这个module后重启,手表无法进行操作,不能打开应用列表,下滑也反应,感觉几秒手表会自己闪一下。

你得重置手表重新配对
1. twrp双清
2. 刷magisk
3. 立即紧接着刷模块
4. 开机使用wear OS国际版配对

感谢,弄好了。可以连接国际版wear os和上play store,但过了一会儿就不稳定了。4个边缘无法滑动,手表闪烁。
