i restarted phone many times in last day....
the date of system is automatic today but i did the trick....
i hope a help
thanks
Same here
Same here with the S9 Plus SM-G965F.
I don't think I have it for a week since I booted and reseted the device but I'm afraid that the OEM unlock option (RMM prenormal) is not time dependent on the August patch - maybe Samsung blocked it completely and we actively need a workaround to get it back.
Definitely that manual time trick is not working anymore and it's waste of time to even trying it on the August patched devices.
hi there i had the same issue, so actualy this is the samsung security guard you have to wait like 7 days to get OEM Unlock button, i did the same but what i did is, changing the dates like for 20 days then i did the update manually few times then i reboot again and again like 10 times the same steps, but i did not get the oem unlock button, so i did wait like 2 days and i have it .
I have the August security patch and my oem unlock shows in the developer menu.

I have a Samsung g950fd , just updated to official oreo on air.
I used to flash roms earlier but now after the update I can't seem to find the oem unlock in my developer options?
delete.
The Rmm states shows prenormal
I'm guessing I'll have to wait for like 7 days for the oem lock option to pop up.
No way to get it before hand?

Alright mate.
Hello! If it is before doing root, you have to delay the date setting of your smartphone for 7 days. After that, restart your phone with Wi-Fi enabled and if the date does not update automatically, go to date settings and return to automatic date and time, and that's it. Then unlock the developer mode and the oem unlock will be available. However, after root, the oem is locked again, so you have to wait not to block by frp.

Have you even tried for yourself ,lol.
It does not work
I tested the G955FD that way and it worked.
I tested too and it works with the phone in airplane mode... I was locked again and now i can't delay the date anymore, everytime i restart the phone it sets automatically the current day...
Hello. I Also have the s8 SMG950FD, oreo, had my phone for almost a year and do NOT see de OEM unlock option. Whats going on?
Please Help!!!
I've been trying for a long time to get OEM unlock with the Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro SM-J530 G variant. I've seen people unlocking the BL in the J730G, same exynos chip.
Here is what I have tried so far:
All date/time tricks
Factory reset
Flash Stock ROM
Waited 7 days
My last attempt made me give up and ask for help here... I completely flashed the most recent stock rom, wiped everything using the CSC file not the CSC-HOME, I did the start setup logging into samsung account and google account, after completing the start setup I inserted the SIM card otherwise that stupid start setup would consume 4G costing me $$$.
Waited for 168 hours with the device always on, and still no OEM UNLOCK, I mean what else can I do... there's almost nothing about this problem with this device here on XDA... I'm hoping someone with a SM-J530G and that had OEM Unlock could tell me what was the process to enable this option. Or what are my options here? Thx
And by the way, I've seen something called Miracle Box, but I dont want to use it since it does not look very legal, I think its meant for FRP bypass. I'm just an android user trying to root my personal device e.e
I'm having the same problem, I'm tired of this, never buying Samsung again. I tried all the things I searched on the internet for hours and nothing works, I do not want to wait 7 days, if you find a method of bypassing that actually works, please do tell me, I will do the same if I find one.
I'm so pissed.
I have good news for you my friend, and for everyone that is reading this. I tried many and more times the same procedure changing small things. I will try to write it out as best as I can so I can help some fellow buddies who've got the same problem.
1 - (As I had already everything backed up and got nothing to lose) Factory Format the device (I did it from the bootloader), hell, I even also cleared cache just for god's sake.
2 - Proceed to initiate Android, DON'T sign-in to any account (nor Samsung nor Google), don't change the date during installation, finish set-up.
3 - DON'T enable Developer's Mode yet. Change the date, I've set it for a month back just to be damn sure (disable automatic date-set). Now go to the Software Updates tab and disable auto-updates and manually check for updates, once done, re-boot.
4 - Once rebooted enable auto-date (that should correct the old date and replace it with the actual one) and re-do the manual check.
5 - Re-boot and enable Developer's Mode and hopefully, for the love of Ragnar Lothbrok, OEM Unlock should be there. I hope it is for all of you.
Hope it helped, good luck buddy/buddies!

That is awesome! I'm going to try it tomorrow, I've been using the device doing my third 168 hours. If it fails again I will repeat everything like you did.
Thank you!!
Sent from my SM-J530G using XDA Labs
Another 168 hours wasted and I followed the trick above, it does not work it was patched with the august 2018 security patch, my device is running with the november 2018 security patch.
My frustration is beyond what I expected to experience with this device... I guess most people were able to activate this thing except me >.<
Enlighten me
When you keep it for 168 hours does the WiFi have to be on or is that not necessary

I tested with wifi always on and logged to google and samsung account so it could sync whatever it had to sync, still no success. I have no idea on how to meet the requirements to unlock the BL on this phone

Is their any other method for 2019.am at my wits end
OK I tried something and it worked to unlock the oem.
Have a Samsung account, then go to find my mobile website and press unlock.it did the trick for me.hipw it helps you as well
Firstly, i use miracle box and then i use samsung tools pro to "reboot" my device because when you unlock the bootloader there is a fail on the room.
here you have a video which could help you.
I've been stalking XDA for a while and I finally decided to make a post because this RMM stuff is sending me over the edge. I received Galaxy Tab for Christmas and from day one, I unlocked developer options, you know, the usual. USB debugging and such and to my surprise, OEM unlock was not hidden. I had a note 8 and waited months and months and months for this stupid option to appear which obviously never did so this was a nice change of pace. Even then, I wait a few weeks before I actually decide to start rooting.
So today was the day I would root it and as I hit start to flash TWRP recovery;
I ran head first into a brick wall; "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed"
I'm sitting here like, are you kidding me, I did everything that was required of me, so what the problem? A while of looking around later, I figure out what this god forsaken RMM status thing is. Great, wonderful. A form of defense against theft but I've had this device since Christmas; 23 days in total. There was even a period where I had it on for 7 days because it nagged me about resetting it after this period of time (which I did).
I look over the screen, completely dumbfounded;
FRP LOCK: OFF
OEM LOCK: OFF
RMM STATUS: Prenormal
What???
I’m not on a know it all level with Knox and all these security measures that Samsung has been including but, to me this doesn’t make sense. If my status was ‘Prenormal’, wouldn’t the ‘OEM unlock’ option not even be visible to me? If it was ‘Prenomal’, why does the ‘OEM unlock’ option in my developer menu say that ‘the bootloader is unlocked’?
I just need someone to save me and point out what I’m missing cause it has to be something preventing me from moving forward. It would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
TLDR; Had it longer than 7 days, OEM/bootloader unlocked, yet my RMM status is on prenormal. Can’t flash TWRP or root cause of it. Help, pls, thanks.
Miracle Box (no box version)
after finding the right working version i am happy to report that Miracle box worked for me to remove the prenormal state - same device same issue
I just got this phone today, and I want to root it and use custom ROM, but having troubles. Previously did this on an S6 and it was fairly easy.
Was following one guide, and was getting Fail Auth error from Odin.
Now trying to follow this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-how-to-install-twrp-root-galaxy-t3752480
But I don't even have OEM unlock in Developer options....
I'm still running 8.0 android. But an update is available, should I update to 9.0?
Please help
Edit:
In an effort to find a way to get the OEM unlock , i found this:
https://www.the***********.com/fix-missing-oem-unlock-toggle-samsung-galaxy-devices/
"The method below has stopped working on the newer firmware released in or after August 2018. In most situations, your device will be forcibly locked and the OEM Unlock toggle will be missing. Ensure that you insert a SIM card, connect to your network, and NOT REBOOT your Galaxy device for straight 7 Days (168 Hours)."
Is this accurate? Would it have to be a sim that's currently network activated if so? I was thinking of continuing to use the active sim in the s6, and an old sim in the s8 until I have it all set up. Also, if I have to wait a week, I probably might as well update to 9.0 that samsung is providing.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

You will need OEM unlocked in developer menu to flash twrp etc. As for getting unlocked you can try different variations of the date method. I have 2 S8's one Oreo one pie both with twlrp, etc got OEM by using a variation of the date method. If not you will have to wait.
As to updating to pie well personal choice my daily driver is still on Oreo while my other phone is on pie.
As to the method the thread you quoted is still valid but a bit outdated as it doesn't take into account of rrm state ( and kg state introduced in pie ). This guide is more up to date but is basically the same procedure but includes RMM fix.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...w-to/guide-root-install-twrp-samsung-t3747535
Also be aware the have been updates to twrp as well.
Yea, I've been trying various date methods, but none of them worked for me. The lack of OEM is likely the issue here, so I'll probably just have to wait for a week to proceed
I have a samsung galaxy j3 star model number sm-j337t have had it for years was thinking i could use it as a backup phone since i dropped my phone and cracked the screen, hoping to use this samsung till i got another phone but sim is incompatible. but its still a decent phone thought i could root it and still make use of it but it has no oem unlock in the developers options tried date and time chage but still no its been without service for a few years and it wont recoqnize my wifi hotspot so no software update for a while. my question is would a ugrade in software enable the oem unlock so i can then root it? if so how would i go about doing that?
