Hello,
I am looking to manually upgrade my daughter's tablet to lollipop. I have not found anything resourceful out there to help me. Is it still possible to update without root using odin or is this no longer supported? I as well cannot find a lollipop rom to download as well.
Can anyone shed some light for me?

My galaxy note 3 tmobile Version was recently rooted. After I rooted it, I noticed that a software update was available. After research, I realized that you cannot update the software while your device is rooted. I tried using Xposted and Wanam, but it didn't suffice. Is it possible to flash an updated rom such as c-rom onto my phone? Or would that end up in a soft brick? I was hoping to install c-rom 4.4 onto my phone but its been taking a while to load up. It shows the c-rom logo, but I get inpatient after about 15 minutes of waiting. So I end up going into recovery. Is there another way I could update and keep my root?
Help would really be appreciated
Anyone?
I use stock rom and update with Mobile Odin . I Keep root with it
Hi,
I've been using SAMSUNG GALAXY GRAND PRIME SM-G530F for more than a year now and never faced any sort of problem before even though i rooted it immediately after purchase.
But after the update to kitKat 4.4.4 from kitkat 4.4.4, lol sounds crazy but i already had a kitkat on my phone but after the update of 76 MB file from OTA i didn't find much of a difference in settings but the notification panel was transparent and WiFi stopped working! It won't even turn on now. whenever i press the WiFi button it diminishes, and does nothing.
i tried everything, rebooting, wiping cache, even took it back to factory mode. but still the problem presist.. so could anyone help me with this problem?
i don't want to flash a new custom or official rom, there maybe some thing i could do make it work? :/
WiFi problem presisted in some devices back in jellybean too.. so that too could help me. please share any ideas or guesses below on the comment section. Thanks in advance!
Device: Samsung
Model no: SM-G530F
andriod version now: 4.4.4 kit kat
android before update: 4.4.4 kit kat
Country: UAE
Base band version: G530FXXU1AOES2
Root acess: rooted (Updated to OTA using wnamp, fake serial number)(Xposed Installer)
if needed any further information please let me know this has been a headache to me.
Edit: After i factory reset it, The transparent notification bar is gone means the update no longer exists.. but still the wifi problem presists. thanks!
I'm having the same problem new phone (same model), not rooted any help?
Im having the same problem with same model

New firmware
You can flash a new firmware with Odin. Check this page provided by me: (goo.gl/SjGv7x).
Ok, my device is the Note 4 SM-N901C, Baseband is: N901CXXU1BOE1, Thailand. I rooted it recently and I might revert back to stock as I am just not needing it rooted right now. Not really taking full control over it like I wanted. I was wondering if there is any way to get 5.1.1 for my device and if Marshmellow could be installed using another baseband for my model? Forgive these questions, I am not much up to date on all the root, baseband, kernel lingo and don't know much about it. This is my first Samsung, and possibly my last since they are super slow in releasing OS updates. I am still stuck on 5.0.1 while the rest of the world is sporting 5.1.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Like the title says, I have a g900v running 4.4.2 with ank7 and it seems like that's a combo nobody else has. I had it rooted before but I believe I accidentally updated with an OTA at one point and lost root. Does anyone know how to regain root from here, or guide me to which updates I should install to get to a rootable firmware? Thanks in advance!
also, I do like 4.4.2 a little more than 5.0. My gf has 5.0 and I'm not too fond of it, but if 5.0 or 6.0 are a lot better speed-wise then I'd be ok with upgrading. I'm just not a big fan on how it looks.
Does anyone have any tips or knowledge on what I need to do to get root back?
Have you tried to root using towelroot by geohot?
you can install it just by googling towelroot and then installing it
once installed you just click make it rain and you should get root
Try this web page if it doesn't work at first

otherwise flash using odin to a different KitKat firmware that is supported by towelroot and then root
T337A Temp root, boot(LP fix).tar, & official 5.1.1 firmware. Help w/permanent root?
I just thought that all of this might help a permanent root be developed. I have no idea how to work the magic that developers here perform all the time. I just thought I would post this information if it helps to get a permanent root on the T337A running 5.1.1, and politely ask that if anyone out there is able to check this out, I would greatly appreciate it. So, here's my b.s. :
TechNyne66 posted that Kingroot apk temporarily roots T337A and knox is not tripped:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/att-tab-4-8-t337a-temp-root-t3301345
I've rooted it this way, but reboot softbricks the tablet. It can be rebooted with the boot(LP fix).tar via odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/rooted-nk2-att-t377a-t2992639
This will boot it back up with a custom logo and root is essentially removed.
In my experience, after all this has happened, the battery life sucks.
Now the 5.1.1 firmware is available here, to fully return to stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/official-att-lollipop-firmware-tab-4-sm-t3439252
Just throwing it out there. Maybe people have seen all of this and it doesn't help at all. It just sounded like it could be toyed with, now that there's an official firmware for 5.1.1 available. Anyone I could approach with this to ask for help? I don't want to go bugging people though...
If you read all this shiz, thank you.
Nobody? Is there anyone who could help, or direct me to someone who can possibly help with rooting the T337A with this information?
