Just incase anyone was having issues getting it working

Super simple. Download the Viper4android module from Magisk, boot to TWRP and flash it. It's that simple.
It also works on the pixel 2 stock rom rooted with magisk.
Hi, I have the Motorola Moto G7 Supra Android 9.0 from cricket wireless on the June security patch update, will I be able to get Viper4Android installed? If so, I can do this without being rooted?
Can this cause a Bootloop or any issue when flashing it?
Any feedback is appreciated!
Thanks

Recently got Moto X pure, and I'm loving it. Now I've rooted before, but I really don't much experience with this, (since that phone never got an OTA update, afterwards or bootloader unlocked). I wanted to ask, When it comes to rooting, Does the Operating system it is on matter? I did the OTA update from 5.1.1 to 6.0 and I'd like to root my phone now. Do I just follow a 5.1.1 guide, or is there something else I have to do? Thanks!
Dont follow the guide on youtube thats for lollipop!

Unlocking the bootloader is the same though, then search to trupure on the forums, its a really good minimalistic rom for the moto x pure
I would read the 6.0 thread, the twrp thread and the kernel thread to get started.

Once your bootloader is unlocked, flash a custom ROM with SuperSU baked in.

Restore a backup and flash 2.62-3. The others seem to cause issues like the one you're experiencing.

What's confusing though is he states in section 4 the steps are only for lollipop. To go to another link for Marshmallow. Is that still the case or can we flash Beta SuperSU the old fashioned way through TWRP? I took the MM update while on stock. I have since unlocked bootloader and installed latest TWRP. Just making sure nothing has changed.

Rooting the MXPE on MM requires systemless root because, for it to work, a modified/patched boot.img has to be flashed along with SuperSU.
The most recent versions of SuperSU patch the boot.img automatically.
If you follow the link to those MM instructions, you will find the systemless root method option. Follow the link at the top of that systemless root thread to download BETA_Super SU v.2.62-3, which is confirmed to work on our Moto XPE without issues.
Once you download it, you can flash it normally via TWRP. Profit.
Hope this helps.

That worked perfectly, THANK YOU! Found BETA_SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip, flashed via TWRP and worked like a charm. I got so confused by all the variants of devices....XT1572, XT1575, Brazil, India, US, Lollipop, Marshmallow, TWRP... I really appreciate the help!
Hey everyone, just got a Nexus 6P today and it came with the latest image. Before I scour the forums, is there a link to a specific root for this firmware. Or do earlier methods still work?
Thanks
Well their are 2 ways now.
1. Traditional root which is what you know
2. Systemless root, the 'new' way
I've used both. The systemless root basically decompiles whatever kernel you have, patches it with root, then recompiles all in twrp. I think. Their both good.
When I was on stock ROM I used systemless root.
But I recently flashes resurrection remix and that uses traditional root.

That's def want I wanted to hear. Much thanks. I'm familiar with the systemless root since I'm pretty sure it's done like that with the Nexus 6 as well, which I had not too long ago. Probably will go with the stock and systemless.
Thanks again

I did root by following instructions from this thread.
I just noticed that Netflix is no longer working.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed Magisk on the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900V) or any other suggestions to get apps like Netflix to work properly.
first off what rom are you on? and or android version. 2nd are you using the latest version of Netflix? third what is the exact issue you are having with Netflix? (errors, etc..)

Netflix blocks rooted devices now. Apparently you have to run something to hide the fact that you are rooted.
I have heard you can do this with Magisk
I am really thinking about unrooting now but i don't know how.
also, i accidentally posted this under general and should have posted it under Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

magisk has an uninstaller zip you flash via twrp however im not 100% sure if it works correctly due to odexed rom as xposed has this issue as far as installing or uninstalling.
you could try this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-netflix-enabler-enable-netflix-t3708126 might help.

assuming you have not tried to install magisk:
if you have the bootloader unlocked and are on lollipop or below bootloader (in case it relocks doubt that it will) and not just safe strapped and have TWRP or a custom recovery installed i'd say make a full backup via recovery and then attempt to install magisk the usual way and if you hit a snag or bootloop restore the backup and reach out to the official magisk thread for getting it installed..magisk thread: "Magisk" best i can suggest as it seems these threads are like a ghost town a lot of the time. lol
I am rooted have been for years, Netflix works fine.

Has anyone with the McLaren tried rooting or custom recovery yet? (Not talking about custom roms) The help guides currently come with verbage indicating 9.0.5, 9.0.6... etc, not 9.0.9 which this version shipped with.
I've unlocked the bootloader and am hesitant on the next step. Can anyone that has rooted link/state their process in order to assist weaker individuals like myself.
Thanks

Install TWRP and flash Magisk 18.
That should give you root.

Well yes that's normally how you do it but... and this is what I'm talking about... In order to install twrp, I'll need to fastboot boot the 9.0.9 stock boot img. The unofficial twrp for 6t only lists up to 9.0.7 of these imgs.
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure I don't want to use anything but the exact version my phone is currently on (9.0.9).
Also, yes I'd be willing to pull files after I get rooted.

Sweet! Can I ask what img you used to boot into twrp initially? I'm assuming it matters because different versions are always listed.

Ah ok. I was doing it wrong.
I'm now set. I booted the twrp img from that post you linked and after getting into twrp, I flashed the installer followed by magisk.
Thank you guys.
There is almost no differences between the Mclaren 9.0.9 or the Int 9.0.7 minus the boot animations etc. The 9.0.9 is actually a earlier built date then 9.0.7 i dont see why it woulnt be rootable etc just like the normal 9.0.7
My OnePlus 6t is rooted with TWRP but I have no wrong yet will substratum work with just the root without Rom
