Dropped in Watter, Screen Problems - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hello, I dropped my Mi A1 in water a couple of days ago, I quickly took it and wiped it down with a cloth and the only problem I noticed were the speakers not working. Like a idiot, I kept using it and the speakers started working somehow but after 1/2 days the screen begun to make me problems, even after leaving the phone in Rice for 2 days in a row. My question is, is it any way to solve it? I will go to a GSM tomorrow but I want to know your opinions too. The screen looks normal for 3 seconds when I unlock it but after that it starts to show a lot of lines and stays like that until I lock it again, it also changes patterns from time to time.

Help - 2nd MDA Pro Failing within 5 weeks this time Hinge

Helpppppp!!!!. This will sound very odd, But my phone started flicking the screen last night and now the screen image is a complete mirror. And I mean absolute mirror. The software wants you to click in the same place but the image is completely reversed, words everything. It sometimes comes back, but when you move the screen or use the on/off switch it goes hay wire. I have tried hard resetting and soft, but makes no difference. Why Oh why did I buy a T-mobile. Every morning I kick myself. Why didn't I stay with orange. At least they would replace the phone over night. Now I will have to wait at least a week for T-mobile to agree it is faulty and then replace it. Anybody got any ideas what could be wrong or could this be the start of hinge failure. Going off to cry. Bye.

Screen problem... general bug or isolated device defect ??

Hi,
Does anybody else experience buggy screen more and more often ??
The first few days, i couldnt' unlock it for 1 second or so... was fine
Then after 2 weeks, screen got unrepsonsive for a few seconds from time to times.
Then 3rd week, screen was unresponsive for 1 HOUR... found out cleaning the screen or decreseasing screen sensitivity with BsB seemed to help.
And today... i wanted to scroll down in some program, it reacted as if i had another finger on the screen and started to zoom in or out.... 3 mins later : my screen became unresponsive and it s unresponsive now for the last 2 hours... cleaning the screen doesn't help.. it just doesn't react at all and phone is useless now.
Question is : Do you guys also noticed some decreasing screen quality over time ?? (maybe in some DIFFERENT ways than i had.... like this guy here : http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=10735
I am not able to do what that guy did on the video ! :/
Maybe you should update rom

Yes, I've had exactly the same problem for a few weeks - it's Summer here in Australia and I noticed the same thing happening when the phone gets hot while in use or connected to the charger.
It doesn't get better until the phone cools down. Believe it or not, I had to put mine in the freezer to unfreeze it. That's right, the freezer to unfreeze it...ah forget it...
I've tried several ROM upgrades and hard resets - makes NO difference. It's a device (not software) fault so you'll probably need to replace it.
Here's another thing you can try to see if you have the same problem as me - put a second finger at the bottom left edge of the screen and see if it presses soft buttons on the right hand side.

Lower part of screen stopped responding

After 4 months of flawless work, the lower part of the screen (a strip several millimeters from the edge) suddenly stopped responding properly!
E.g., all buttons in this area (including launcher/phone/+ on home screen) either don't work at all, or sometimes activate after a while when strongly pressed with the thumb (orientation doesn't matter).
Just two hours before they responded fine to the index finger.
Also, I've noticed that when I "multi-touch" the lower line in a file browser with two fingers, it works nice! Buttons are too small for that, however
I first tried to restore backup, but it didn't help, of course.
Has anybody had the same problem?? I guess it's a warranty case ...
I would agree, it's probably a hardware problem that you'll have to bring your phone in for service to get fixed.
I'm having that same problem my self, but just now and then. What helped with me is that I press the upper left corner of the phone with my other hand and then the lower part works fine, so i think i should get a new digitizer or its just loose connector.
im having the same problem , i have put up with it for the past few weeks and its driving me nuts now. today i did a factory reset which made no difference , i called htc who didnt sound a bit suprised by my phone call it gets picked up tomorrow morning to go for repair so the question is ... is this a common fault? and how the hell am i gonna cope without my hero in my pocket ?
Yeah happened to mine last week, a few have had the same issue where it's just the launcher bit not responding. Although the good news is that I'm getting it back tomorrow though so it's good times!
I had the same problem with my touchscreen (after a month or so!)
Mine got picked up thursday by HTC and I just checked the tracking site and they just recieved it.
I wonder how long it's going to take
Visited their service center last week.
They've immediately replaced my screen with a new one without any ado. Now everything works as before!
BUT a friend of mine who bought his Hero in January is having similar problems now...
It is a common problem according to HTC.
Mine was repaired in just 10 days.
Same problem here, did htc said anything about this problem? is it a common fault?
thank you
I said it in the post above yours.
ah yes, right, thank you

If they acknowledge it officially, couldn't you provide a link please?
i gave mine last week to repair, they returned to me unfixed. on the paper stated that they only updated the software, what a dumb this htc guys. need to go back and tell them again the same story. im wasting my time only for this. wtf
I recently had this problem. The 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen wouldn't respond, took it into T-Mobile who said I'd have it back within about 7 to 10 days... 3 weeks later I got a text saying I could collect my phone...
On the paper sheet it says they've replaced the lens.. Which I can see they have as before I had a miniscule hairline scratch near the top.
They also mention a software update (1.0.0.A6288)
Either way it works nicely now.
I've recently experienced the same issue - the lower part of the screen, the one where the LauncherPro icons usually are stopped responding to touch. If I press really hard it works sometimes, but it's pretty annoying. I didn't sit on the phone or drop it recently, it just stopped working all of a sudden.
Is there anything I can do, as the phone is out of warranty ?
HTC South Africa gave me a new hero after I took mine in for the 3rd time. Hardware problem. Very happy with their service.
i have this exact same problem, is the only solution to send to htc? >_> Cuz my warranty's out already unfortunately... i flashed my hero to CyanogenMod 7 and it seems to have helped, but still not completely responsive... I also have a problem where at times i completely lose control of my touch screen where the spots i touch seem to respond to opposite sides of the screen... anyone else?
Remove battery, Remove sim card. put a dryer on the htc logo for about 40 mins. put the phone under a heavy object. Let it dry for about 15 mins and your fixed.
^ wtf do u mean?... are u just being a gimp...

Screen Flickering on edges

Hello,
So I got my Nexus 4 and it was all good for i think 40 whole hours, never left my desk and then i noticed a strange flickering of the screen, it was on all screen and everywhere, i put it to sleep still there upon awake. I restarted the phone and it was still there but less, and then i pushed soft on the edges and it went away..
Sucks, It took me many months to get this new phone stuff put behind me and now I don't know what I should do send this to google and get a refund ? What a gong show getting this thing, and then wait for months for a replacement ?

LCD/ Touch screen not responding. Hardware or Software (ROM/Kernel)?

Hello Everyone. What I'm about to write might be a bit tricky and complex, so thank you if you'll follow along.
Unfortunately, I dropped the phone into water couple of weeks ago (I know, how dumb...). I let it dry 3 days in rice and Silica gel. After that, I tried to boot it up and it worked, but after couple of hours the touch screen was not responding anymore. I rebooted it and worked again, but lately failed another time.
I tried to let the phone standing up for 3 days, and it worked again perfectly. But as soon as it lies flat horizontally, the touch screen stops working.
After several attempts, I figured out that there might still be water in it, which reaches the motherboard/top of the phone when it is horizontal and messes up with the screen.
However, just out of curiosity, I tried to change ROM and noticed the following:
1.MIUI Global Official: Phone works perfectly, even after lying horizontally. However, everytime something full screen is running, touch screen stops working.
2.DotOS/Lineage/AICP(unterwelt) (All based on Nougat): Phone works, but touchscreen fails after it lies flat.
3.Factory Kernel/ Voodoo: no differences.
So, do you think the problem is in the Hardware, or Software?
Do you accidentally know any good seller of LCD/Touch-screen replacements?
I'm looking forward to buy a Redmi note 4 (if I find any, since there are very few on the market and there are no redmi 4 prime anymore), so I thought this topic might be an take-off for some interesting discussions/opinions.
If you arrived here, thank you very much for your time and hope you can help me one way or another.
Best,
G.
PS: I tried all possible paths while changing ROM/Kernel (Clean and dirty flash, no/formatting data, reinstall TWRP)
In case might be useful to someone:
I opened the phone, use a hair dryer (cold air, not hot) for couple of minutes and now it's working perfectly.
