One of the best Bixby features is now gone? I can't seem to find custom chats in Bixby 2.0... Only the quick command crap.
Is there a different way of setting them up, or has Bixby actually gotten worse?
I feel the same too...there is nothing showing (no cards) if i open bixby
i miss the bixby's custom chat it was one of the most prominant feature from samsung
to those who said bixby is worse i said its not, and it has many usefull features but now i hate bixby as they removed custom chat
Why i get this message when i try to use my comand call someone from contacts. View attachment 4723000

Chat bixby = translate
Bixby 2.0 can still chat with translate English to English etc
There is nothing like Bixby 1.0 !
If anyone has trouble figuring this out (I did) here's the EXACT steps.
- Open Bixby (obviously)
- Click the Hamburger Menu Icon ≡
- Select "Quick Commands," then the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.
- In the "What you say to Bixby" field, enter whatever you'd like to trigger the action.
- In "What Bixby Does" click "+ Add a command," then "Type a command"
- Enter this exactly: with itranslate, how do you say "INSERT YOUR OWN TEXT" in English?
- Confirm by hitting the message icon to the right of your input field
- [Optional] Confirm that it works by hitting "Run"
- Save your Custom Command
...and you're done!

Hi all,
1. How do you copy & paste certain text with Android?
2. How do you take note? or you just have to use Voice Recorder?
I'm quite disappointed with the Legend/Android for its basic functions of making call; taking note while making call; copy & paste; Sending contact by SMS (have to send via MMS).
It's funny that I've been so comfortable with winmo & laughing at the Iphone's inferior features.
Now the iphone users can laugh at me!!!
just my 2cent
1. You just hold the finger over the text you want to select, then copy it or use the small thingys to select more text. Easy as pie!
If you hold over a word and get a popup you can search the word on google, wikipedia and translate the word/sentence.
For notes you can download a notepad application from market free, there is several to pick from.
---
there is an application on market thats named "note pad" or search for "andronotes".
This is a simple app to make notes and e-mail them.
if you want to take a note during a call, just press the "home" button and open the application, just as you would do on winmo.
----
and in apps not inside sense, you can just press and hold on the text and "select text". then use the triangle or the scrollwheel/optical scroll to select the word and then press and copy/cut.

Hi jmkhenka, in my messages, if I press my finger on any word, it auto highlights the whole message & gives me the Message options. There's no Copy. The only thing closest to copy the message is Forward.
In Winmo, during a call, I only have to pull out the Stylus & the Note will pop up to let me take note.
I will look into that app that you recommend.
Thanks for your time jmkhenka.
This notes app also looks very nice:

The press release for this phone (I'm using the slide right now ) says that dragon can read texts aloud and then allow us to dictate a response as if we were having a conversation. Has anyone found this feature yet? It would be awesome to use and make it so much easier to text and drive. And safer too haha.
Here's the part of the press release in question:
Genius Button™: With the Genius Button, you press one button, talk, and it delivers. The Genius Button, powered by Dragon Dictation from Nuance Communications (Nasdaq: NUAN), is an easy-to-access button on the front of the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide allowing the use of voice commands to control the phone and it’s features including making calls, composing and sending texts and e-mails, searching the Web or your surroundings. It will even read text messages aloud, and lets you dictate responses naturally as if you were speaking directly to a person.

EDIT: Here's the URL to the full press release: http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/myTouch-3G-Slide/T-Mobile-myTouch-3G-Slide-Press-Release/td-p/367193
Long press inside a text field box, select input method and then pick Dragon Dictation.
After you press the genius button, when it says listening now say "driving mode on" then it will read out message

You are awesome, man. Thanks!
Only need to activate driving mode. Once activated, it will read the texts, and then let you reply with voice regardless of input method.
Is there any list of things you can say after you press the Genius button? I wasn't aware of "Driving Mode On."
Or should I just rtfm?

hi
what i understand from your second question is that you want to "change /modify " home button functions with Nova launcher ?
If so ,yes, you can change /configure home button .to open basic any Nova/app /shortcut function... etc ..
Nova /Gestures and Buttons /longpress top option ( home icon ) and choose ( ? ) etc ..
hope this is what you looking for ?
Good luck
Hi there,
For those who don't have this option on their phones (like we don't in Russia with the SER region code).
All credit goes to a 4pda.ru forum user who spotted this hidden option, Stimyl020.
1. Install some quick shortcut management software like QuickShortcutMaker.
2. Launch it and find Bixby Voice in the Activities tab.
3. Find the "Settings" sub-activity.
4. Open it and tap "Try".
5. Find the setting called "Bixby key".
6. Open it and choose the right option.
7. You're good to go
Works like a charm :good:
Thanks for sharing
I'm using Bixby Button Remapper - bxActions
Another way to block Bixby app completely is disable it via Adhell 2 app.
Or simply use adb fastboot to remove it. You don't need root.
Is it illegal to block Bixby.? 20 years in the slammer for me then .
I have a solution for anyone in regards of using Google assistant through the Bixby button after Yesterdays update to remap the Bixby button to third party apps for the Galaxy S8/S8+/Note 8/S9/S9+/Note 9.*
Follow these simple steps
1. Make sure that your Bixby apps run the latest update from the Galaxy Store.*
2. Install the Google assistant app from the playstore and set it up for first time use.*
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.googleassistant
3. Open Bixby through the Bixby button and enter settings.*
4. Instead of choosing the app from 3rd party apps like you do with most apps installed on your device, chose run a command instead and add the command "open assistant" and press save.*
5. You can now single or double press (It's your choice) the Bixby button and Google assistant will pop up, just waiting for you to say something. I've tried it myself, and it works like a charm.
Hope someone find this helpful, i saw a lot of people complaining about not being able to use the Bixby button to open Google assistant on YouTube, and came up with this solution.
