M3 lte 4g firmwares? - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

My tablet has the B303 version of May 5, 2017. Is this the latest version available for my BTV DL09 C 100?
I find it strange that I do not get any other more recent version if it exists ...

No one?

Have you tried using firmware finder?
It may list other firmware that could be installed

What I need to know is how many versions higher than the B303 have come out. I do not get any by OTA. How can I know this? You know, if you were so kind as to list them, you would do me a great favor

[OTA] X909AS_12.A.08_OTA_INT_008_patch_svn2959

As subject I recently have Oppo Find 5 for a review on magazine and I found this update.
I hope this can be useful for further development

Where did you find this update? The last update from OPPO was dated 0413. This is likely an experimental build not meant for the public or its a Chinese firmware update -also not meant for the international market.

Nobody else running official firmware on the international variant has this update. You didn't punch in a dialer code to get this update to show up did you?

This is not an official update released by Oppo. This version is experimental and not intended for public use. The Oppo Find 5 is on 04/13 International release.

what dialer code?
I have this device for a magazine review since I'm currently working as an editor for droidmagzid.com
This is not a prototype device, or at least I dont think so.. I dont know.
Just got this device early in the morning from my boss for a review.
I was checking the Android version and the build number to match with the latest firmware here on XDA, then I clicked the system update..
and it show an update.. and so I began updating the device. The previous build number was *********413
The CASUAL root method works on this version, I am able to gain root access, CWM recovery, make a nandroid backup, etc..

As long as you didn't punch in a dialer code to access experimental OTA builds than you should be fine. It seems to be an update for the Asian market or something.. not sure really. But the rest of us... who are using the official international firmware are still on 0413

That's for the Chinese market, not the international.. And even though the Chinese model# is an X909 it doesn't support the same radio bands and there are some other differences. But either way, that firmware is not intended for us. Our latest is still 0413.

[Guide] Online Firmware finder

Hello there,
Since a lot of users are using Huawei firmware finder app on desktop or phone and it's relatively slow I guess this link should be posted for quick search instead.
This is a Russian site, but you can translate it or not since it's really easy to navigate and it finds all results pretty fast.
You can even search Model number + carrier at the same time( for example FRD-L09C10) and it will filter only those results with changelog and download link. It's always up-to-date and faster than desktop or mobile app of Huawei firmware finder.
Link: http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/база-найденных-прошивок/
PS: I'm not the owner of this site.
You can also use this address format if you don't speak Russian:
http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=FRD-L04C567
Replace FRD-L04C567 with the model you're looking for.
Though your link is in a prettier format.

List of Mate 9 / Mate 9 Pro Latest FIrmwares

Since I spend 12 hours a day working with Huawei firmware, I figured a list may be handy.
Key:
Model and Version
Chinese Model:
MHA-AL00C00B301 (EMUI 5.1, beta)
MHA-AL00C00B203
Meafnaf (Middle East / North Africa) Models
MHA-L29C185B181
LON-L29C185B180
Eu (Europe) Models
MHA-L09C432B182
MHA-L29C432B182
LON-L29C432B185
Spcseas (Asia/Pacific) Models
MHA-L29C636B181
LON-L29C636B182
USA Model
MHA-L29C567B190
Porsche Model
LON-L29C721B185
Generic Model
MHA-L09C900B186
MHA-L29C900B186
LON-L29C900B187
Note: It's not possible to tell how new a firmware is based only on its build number. For example, MHA-L29C567B183 has a very high build number, but it's much older than MHA-L29C636B181
Any chance to include the PD version in this list?
Anyways, it's depressing to see they are developing indeed, but they are struggling so hard at keeping a decent official release pace. I mean, pretty much everything is unauthenticated, or if it is it still takes ages to become available. If it wasn't for Firmware Finder, I'd still be stuck at a 4 months old firmware on my PD, without 10x zoom, all the camera tweaks which were applied later and so on, how can this be possible?!

Ok, added it.
Actually, Huawei is very active with development, but not active with public releases/authentication. Basically, the rollout cycle is:
Build, upload for internal use (usually day after build), upload publicly, release to some devices, release to all devices.
With the Porsche Design Mate 9, they actually had a build 156, but they never ended up uploading it or releasing it publicly, and just jumped to 174, then 180, without publicly releasing them. It is strange, indeed, but the Porsche tends to get updates fast enough, internally, at least. I feel most sorry for the LON-L29C432 users, really, because they seem to get the updates last.

Well,
MHA-L29C567B183 <-- old
MHA-L29C636B180 <-- newer
Somehow that makes sense. At first, your statement scared me a bit ("wtf are they doing?").
Let's see what comes next. I personally am sick and tired of flashing. Bricked more than one phone (although Samsungs); I'll be waiting quietly here until they release whatever they want to release.
Ooommmmh

Yes, it's possible. The best branding isn't PD, though. It's probably LON-L29C636 which gets fastest updates.

Of course there are benefits, but it's impossible to know exactly what they are. I know the kernel is newly built and the security patches are more recent. Otherwise, seems to be mainly power management/performance-related, but the changelogs are so vague, so it's up to fate whether or not you feel an actual substantial change. Not many people have tried it at this point.
If you want the files, just use HiSuite to try and install the update. The files will be downloaded to your Documents\HiSuite folder. If you're rooted, it's possible the HiSuite update might fail, but you'll get the files.

Never mind. I thought you were using a service not available to the general public, if that makes any sense. If not, there's no way to install B180, anyway, as it's not on Huawei's public servers, and is not being authenticated by Huawei.

Do you notice any difference with battery drain?
Using Firmware Finder I found newer ROMs than my current 158. What's the difference between FullOTA-MF and OTA-MF? I know one is huge but which do i download to upgrade please?
I am thinking to upgrade to 172 as 180 has no FullOTA file.
And which one is best to download of the three? It's very confusing. I did all this fine on my Mate 8 but now i forget. Thanks.

Firmware Finder will only work on older releases which are signed by Huawei. When a new release is found, Huawei won't be signing it for your device for a few weeks in most cases. You'll have to use a different method if you want to install 180.

If same as me (should be, in Australia as well), it's NPN25.137-67. I was on -15 beforehand. Had to check manually via Settings --> System updates as there was no automated notification, or at least not yet. Therefore if you're still on an older update i'd wait before installing anything manually - the official OTA can't be far away.
