Hello,

Hahaha, typical. I just yesterday installed Lineage 14 after running xiaomi.eu Marshmallow roms for my MI Max and today they release they new one...
Would be awsome to hear about how these roms compare?
I do like the integration with your MI account on MIUI roms, otherwise...meh, don't feel like I'm missing out on much.
Sure the interface is a bit nice...
But for me batterylife and smoothness are they main features that I'm looking for.
Id love to hear about your experiences with xiaomi.eu roms compared to the lates ASOP Nougat flavors.

I have not tried the lineage rom. Can i just download the rom and gapps and flash through twrp? The instructions seemed critical so did not try it out. Something like do this if your miui version number changes ?
Today i have downloaded and currently using the latest xiaomi.eu rom. It looks stable but lags a little here and there.

Well, I'm running Mi Max Hydrogen 32 GB / 3gb ram version and did the following to flash the unoffical lineageos 14.1
1. Downloaded the hydrogen rom: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B60OA264UF_PMjVQN3A5a2g2MDg - lineage-14.1-20170201-UNOFFICIAL-hydrogen.zip
2. Downloaded the following firmware: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B60OA264UF_PRmZpSGZpa2ZxOHc - firmware-HYDROGEN_MDG-7.1.5.zip
3. Downloaded pico opengapps for arm64 soc - http://opengapps.org/
4. Did a full wipe (except user data) i.e. not factory reset but selected in TWRP 3.0.2.0 the partitions I wanted to format.
5. Flashed the Hydrogen Rom in point 1.
6. Flashed Firmware in point 2.
7. Flashed Pico Gapps in point 3
8. Wiped Cache & Rebooted.
Its still working fine, ofcourse I made sure to backup my sms and other stuff I wanted to keep from before....MIUI backups and cloud services aren't really compatible with Lineage
Can't really say anything about the batterylife, it's decent but the phone hasn't received a decent nights charge since yesterday.
A few things that I did was to ad adway and modify youtube so that I get an adfree experience without exposed.
Also I've moved Gsam to privilaged systemapps in order to have good battery tracking.
I also use Greenify as I did with Miui 8 and have Greenyfied Facebook, Instagram and such apps that tend to hang around. Also I've Frozen the Stock Music player since it was waking the phone a lot from deepsleep. Did it with Titanium backup.

Noted. Thanks will flash tonight.
Is it smooth? Any lags? The new xiaomi.eu nougat rom is the same as marshmallow. Nothing new..
What about the lineage rom.. Does it feel like you are using nougat?
can i dirty flash 7.2.9 over the leaked MIUI 8 Android 7.0 version?
will it still lock my bootloader?

Actually miui nougat from xiaomi.eu doesn't lock bootloader on Mi Max. It locks bootloader only on mi4c, mi4s and mi note pro.

Now I've actually tried both RR 5.8.0 and Lineage unofficial 14.1 and in my opinion RR is definitely much smoother.
Flashed it about an hour ago so battery and sot is unknown.
But as for Linage the battery life is on par with what I got on miui, maybe slightly shorter but didn't test it enough to get conclusive results.
Lineage is smooth as well, smoother then miui but nothing that I was super amazed by. I didn't have the small hangups when you switch apps and such so it was good, totally satisfactory.
RR on the other hand is a clear difference in smoothness. Gonna test it a bit more, if battery holds up then I'm sticking with this rom.

Tested the battery this night and rr is dozing quite well.
0.3 - 0.4% discharge per hour and it's really smooth as well
Hello guys.
I am using Lineage os in my phone p9 lite and it's awesome( of course big thanks to @HassanMirza01 and the guys behind this rom for p9 lite), but still there some problems I was wondering if there is a solution for any of them.
First one is the Camera, can we flash a custom camera in lineage?! When we flash EliteRom 7.7, we have a choice to choose a custom camera to be installed, so can we get one of those to be installed in lineage os?!
Another one is the Battery, it takes a long time to be fully charged, in contrast to the stock roms, so is there a way to charge it fast?!
Thank you so much guys in advance.

For a better battery life I'd suggest you flash ui 5 en 3.05 and then clean flash miui 10..... I don't know why but I've always experienced a better battery backup after using stock en ROM about 4-5 hr sot , but this is only applicable for 7.x ROMs. Switching to 6.0 will update the modem.... Probably why we experience 2-3 hr sot.

had the same experience with stock modem(better battery life and no heating) so made a backup of it and restored it after flashing miui 10.
another thing to mention that i have tried crdroid, lineage, resurruction remix but they all had battery drain bcuz of google play services.. so i am using miui 10 now without google services installed, performance, smoothness and battery life is way better now.
hope our dear developer @warlock9000nt gives a brief thought to miui 11/ oreo

Due to kernel difference there are some issues with dual booting like switching between roms causes bootloop........ (I might have messed up while flashing something )
For steps on how to dual boot just follow this
https://youtu.be/FJmtMjBXWHo
Use the APK i have put on previous reply
While patching scroll to the bottom and select Z11
Edit:
The bootloop/ stuck on bootloader is due to clicking on "update ramdisk" in the dualboot app.

I haven't faced that one before.... Try rebooting,
Or try removing and replacing the simcard.
If that doesn't work fall back to EN3.05 frimware and flash 2.86 again.

download gapps 6.0 pico and flash after you have booted the rom once.
if you want to flash nano gapps you will have to find a way to disable google startup service. preferably keep titanium backup open in background before rebooting to twrp.

So I was going to try and update to MIUI 11 but saw a lot of complaints of battery drain and more, and I was wondering, is anyone having a good experiance after the update or is this basically on every device? Mine phone is the European version, should install MIUI 11.0.2.0 PFJEUXM. Any reviews for this release?
Also, has anyone downgraded from 11 to 10 with no issues (rooted device with TWRP, not fastboot)? I've had issues when I downgraded from 10.3.12 to 10.3.7. The OS was installed but the device became unusable and I had to install 10.3.12 again
Thanks in advance
I own two MI 9T, one global and one EEU. Both are on MIUI 11 and I don't have any issues whatsoever. On the contrary, notifications now come in as they should. Apparently they fixed that.
Both phones are not modified (i.e. locked bootloader and unrooted). The only thing I did was to debloat it on user level (via ADB).
The battery drain happened just once months ago with MIUI 10. Never happened again... I'm pretty sure it was a rogue app or service.
And downgrading... I don't consider that (wait for unlocking bootloader flash TWRP etc.) and if I look at the forum I sometimes think that there are way to many help requests because of bricked phones

No trouble here (with Android 10 too). Battery drain does fluctuate though - some days I have 80 percent left in the evening, some days it's just 50 percent with no difference in usage. I also had days of heavy usage with 70 percent left shrug

I was planning to downgrade to stock CHO 5.1.1 ROM J500MUBU1APF1 but i think the problem will persist.
Can someone guide me to a good stable rom that deletes all the garbage that comes with stock like Opera,Knox, S fuc.. Health? Things like that. I was hoping the stock rom rule is always better will work here but you guys knows that this cellphone is poop.

Hi there
Well if you care too much about stability and battery save i prefer you to use sep8.5(there is also lite version of this rom that)
But if you look for more space on internal strange and have latest os i prefer to use bootleggers or linage os pie
All of these rom don't have unnecessary things and are great and tested by my self many many times (it's just fun and new experience for me)
And you can also install all your apps and your apps's cache to your sd card(but it should be great and powerful)

In essence i need, all the default standard stock apps like radio, messages, gmail and camera etc everything working stable what i don't want is garbage like extra games or browsers like opera/chrome, things that occupy space on the internal storage.
If there's a custom rom with android 5.1.1 that works fluently i prefer that but if there's a custom rom with 6.0./7/8 and so on that works stable/fast with the J5(2015) hardware well i would try that. Which one you recommend with the stuff i mention?
Oh! another thing, can you confirm this are the ones you mention before:
