Overall, it's a great phone and a great colour and shade too, however after waiting for 3 months I cannot help but feel slightly disappointed with some of the issues I've come across. When paying this price, I expect no issues at all, Please check my other posts on this sub forum to understand my issues.
Definately spending too much time on this phone. Great to use

I have to say i' pretty satisfied with the phone so far.
This phone got me away from my iPhone 7 - my last android device was the HTC One X.
Obviously a bit disappointed by the fact that there is no root possible - but we'll see if that will change in the future.
Great phone.. coming from s8 .. feels like day and night. Lol..
Best handset I have owned. iPhone 8 and Galaxy S7 edge being the two most recent
love the phone, camera and how its flat on the back now. 4 stars because notifications are not that up to date, slow or even none at times.

Love the phone. I've been flip-flopping between Android and iOS for years (switching every 2-3 years) and came to the M20P from an iPhone X - don't miss it one bit!

Thanks! It would be cool if I got featured on the front page again, too, though I'm not really expecting it
I, for one, very much appreciate your tldr review of the One X. Now continuing with the article.
Good read. Wish all prospective buyers would read this. I've never had more people compliment me on this device (Whoa, nice phone!) Then, this also means I have a lot of friends who've no idea what the H1 is (marketing).
Thanks.

Great article.. Actually i bought a S4, then i change to HTC One. Now i am also having a GREAT phone
Very much enjoyed your review. Thanks.
Nice review, I was in the same boat as you. Got bored of tinkering with custom ROMs (had SGS, SGS2) that never actually had real stability and claimed performance. After some time, lag became too much of a pain, apps would crash, the phone would often become unresponsive...
One is, in my opinion, a mixture of iphone and the best of android. Really lag free OS, fast, stable, nice features, great build, looks, etc.
Good write up but wayyyy too many italicized words.

mee too. so sad
Love the review.
Only thing I disagree with is the camera. I think the One camera is absolutely bonkers when it comes to capturing detail (In a good way). The only thing the SGS4 will have is in good light, stuff in the background will be able to be zoomed in on. I personally prefer the One camera in every picture and video comparison i've seen.
Have to say, the Sgs4 is the biggest samsung let down for me since the SGS2 which was the best smartphone i'd ever used and it absolutely blew me away, even more so than the One has.
The update from the Sgs3 is simply not worth it. The design is worse, the build quality is worse, the phone gets far too hot, far too quickly, it's laggy, and the screen is such a massive let down. I couldn't believe how underwhelmed I felt trying out the SGS4.
HTC One is by far the best phone out, and will probably be the only phone, EVER, that I will manage to keep for the life of a contract, let alone the one month I normally keep phones before swapping them.

Thanks! And yeah, I neglected to mention this aspect of the camera, but that's very true.
Nice article. I mostly agree with you about everything but the ROM. I don't really like the stock ROM. I think the ARHD ROM is more stable and doesn't sacrifice any important features of the stock ROM.
Thank you for your insight once again :good:
if u ask from my part it was awesome .. buying a phone in this range is awesome with such specs .... and also with a good brand name, I was saved from buying a Chinese OEM device , I don't mean they are bad they just lack a brand name...... I don't mean every big brand is good for instance Samsung, Microsoft, Nokia ..... they all have just ruined the smartphone experience
and there is a saviour for mid rangers ...... Zenfone 2 ya I admit they were a bit poor in terms of updates and their aftermaths leading to outrageous customers and unfulfilled desires but still wat does one expect at this price range .....
I have used millions of Samsung devices but there's just one reply to Samsung , DIE SAMSUNG U DONT BELONG TO MAKE ANY ANDROID DEVICES....they don't have durability within a year my grandpa's S5 started being a jerk and gave retarded sot just 4-5 hours previously it was never less than 5 - 5.5..... note edge lags like **** even opening a folder from edge side takes 4 - 5 seconds like for wat m I giving money man.... I bought a flagship not ****
from all these aspects zenfone is way better my next device after 2 years will be either the latest zenfone, moto x (latest one , obvious) , or else any CM running device (any OEM it be)
i will always recommend asus if its continue its amazing bang to buck ratio

It is alright. I have never been a fan of the screen. The colors just aren't that great. I have been so used to an amoled screen for the past couple of years, going back to lcd was a big change. I get sim card errors sometimes. It is fast, but I just don't like it as much as the Note 3 I had before. It has the hardware, just isn't as refined software wise to keep me interested. I'm likely going to get a note 4 or try a LG g4.
For that price (the 550ml), i could not expect something better.
It is clearly not a perfect phone (low battery, not a good brightness, cameras videos are not good) but it remains in general a good phone, i do speak about the 550ml version.

Any ways never go for samsung it will lag after few months (6-8 , to be approx) they are not even durable in terms of battery life. Lg is good , but i will recommend ZTE axon pro , moto x style or OP2 .

So far I am very pleased with the ZF2. Many complain about the battery but I get a full day and then some out of it so it is fine to me. I changed the native DPI on mine so I could use five icons on the screen instead of four so I guess that is a bit of a nitpick in a way, but I really like using the native launcher and just could not stand how huge the icons were. The screen's brightness is not a big issue for me as I don't use it in direct sunlight but a dark video is hard to watch at times. The phone is fast and does everything I want so that makes me a satisfied customer.

they have the lawyer firms on retainer anyway, so why not put them to use, no matter how bizarre it is.

The best phone I had ever had in my life for the budget. If you can afford a more expensive phone I dont think this phone gonna impressed you but if u're like me coming from a mid range 400$- phone u're gonna love this and will realize how overrated other brands are.Coming from a previous Galaxy Alpha owner which cost 480$ on release date.
Even compared to other flagships 1+ 5 is still hanging right with them, that says a lot
Best phone ever, got rid of the Galaxy S8 after 2 days because i got sick of all the crap, lags and framedrops (games) and bloatware on it. Can nothing but recommend the OP5 despite all supposed/rumored issues :silly:
Happy with it too. No Jelly, no nothing.
and now all oneplus paid trolls are posting here
No issues here To all. INSANE battery life. 9+hours sot. I get 3-4%/hour battery drain combined sot/idle. FAST FAST FAST. Just everything good on my end.
I still am a tad apprehensive to buy an OP5 over G6 due to camera (video and wide angle lens) and that design/ display where as OP5 has great performance, better battery life, better software and will most probably have better long term life in terms of battery and performance.
anyone who used both can shed some light on my apprehensions?

I'll tell you I've had many brands of phones throughout the years, and none of them are as refined, smooth, efficient as this OP5....
Stick to Oxygen OS is my advise, I've always been a fan of AOSP and LOS based ROMS, but only with the OP5 I keep coming back to stock.
Enjoy the phone is my last advise. Use a custom kernel, you'll find your favorite, they save tons of battery, besides making the device EVEN smoother and efficient.
The thing is a beast.

Shortly, Best phone i've ever owned: battery life (SOT), performance, shell temperature, ram, storage performance, stock feeling. And i've owned quite a lot.
This is the first android i've seen that doesn't lag when installing apps (!!!)
Display is really ok, and personally i am glad they keept the 1080p for efficiency and performance reasons (i've used 1080p also on s7).
What bothers me is the standby battery life (still better than my previous s6/s7). The wifi seems to consume more battery than other devices
I notice the jelly effect but that doesn't bother me.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is a new experience
Just had a chance to use review unit of s9 . Camera and sound has some improvement but really disappointed that battery is still same size and has not changed since s7 ... S7 edge camera is still very much capable and if u just want to upgrade from s7 or s8 for camera then its not worth it in my opinion

The Galaxy S9 is my first Android Phone and I switched from an iPhone 7 to it.

Dual sim is a special version of the unlocked model (or maybe the standard version of the unlocked one, I haven't checked this year). You are able to slot a second sim in place of the SD card if you want to.
After 2 days, I can say I am really impressed with everything except the battery life, and I know that will get better as it stabilizes and I am not tweaking it constantly. I am especially impressed with the new speakers and the Atmos surround - the best movie sound I have heard on a phone yet!
I got the mobile from my carrier and they said they only have dual sim phones.
Love it!
Switched over from an iPhone 6S. I borrowed a Pixel (original) and then a very old Droid Maxx (painful!)
First 48 hours with the S9 Snapdragon have been really good, I think I actually prefer TouchWiz over vanilla Android Oreo on the Pixel.
Hardware quality is outstanding. I'm in love with the screen. AOD sounded like it would waste a lot of battery but doesn't seem to. It's really useful and keeps me from turning my phone on all the time to see if there are messages.
Bixby isn't awful, but I wish it worked with Signal for messaging. I will have to see if there's some way to make the two work together.
My biggest gripe is that annoying `high volume` warning that can't be disabled. I'm streaming to my car, the signal is supposed to be set to 100%.
Yes it is love, it is possible to love a phone you attached full day and night
It's soooo gooood! I came from an S6 so the improvements are nuts. I was asking myself if loving a phone was possible just yesterday

Coming from an S7, and the phone is a whole other thing, from design, speed, Infinity screen, etc. Really liking it so far!
Coming from phones like the HTC m8 and lg g5, I'm loving the Samsung rom. I do a few things to my phone such as get rid of the stock keyboard for the Google one, trash the stock launchers and do something like Nova or evie.
Things I find to be improvement over the phones I had before are the screen, sound, cameras, vibration feel, look of the phone, the water resistant rating, and the list could go on.
Battery life for me so far has been great. I know coming from an s7-8 might not feel like a large jump but compared to other phones it's a great choice.
One thing I don't like so far is knox. Every other phone I had has been fine to root and keeping features no problem.
Got the s9 last week. First Samsung phone. Kept away because of the infamous lag of touchwiz until a friend told me lag has gone after oreo update on his 8+.
Had a fully customized 6p before. I can't believe how good this phone feels. Nothing wanting and I no longer have the urge to unlock and root, something I've always done straight after getting a new phone.
There's also a promotional 2 year warranty period. Amazing. Tried the plus but don't get the affinity I have for this one.
tl;dr loving my S9
Finally pulled the trigger last week monday and got myself an S9 unlocked. Also helped that my local Best Buy was tossing in the Gear 360 for free with purchase. I also purchased a Speck Presidio Clear case for the phone but the coral blue is really nice when the back isn't smudged to the point that I'm running the phone naked: the only case I'm using for it atm is a microfiber sunglasses sack which I slide the phone into when pocketing it and place the phone on top of when setting it down on something like a table or countertop. Helps keep the glass decently clean and pretty much minimizes potential foreign particulates in my pockets scratching the glass.
That being said, this is the first phone I've had where the honeymoon period for me went by as fast as the end of the 2nd day of having the device.

Definitely! If you use your phone a lot it can be one of your best friends. Good camera, great design, right usability. I believe there is a million reasons why you can love your phone.
It's not love, it's attachment
You cannot love an inanimate object, you can however become so attached and reliant on one that you cannot imagine being without it, but it is not love
If you really 'love' your phone, you need locking up
I "loved" my S7, but the second I got my S9 I sold my S7, if I really loved it, I would still have it, I would still use it, I would carry it with me everywhere, I would think about it constantly, there would be no way I could allow a stranger to own it
Not love, attachment, which instantly dies when it is upgraded to a better model
Hi all,
I've upgraded from an S6 to the S9. The current trade-in promotion got me convinced, I've got a recycling discount on the S6 and a carrier discount so that smoothed the deal.
I was positively surprised by the lack of bloat on the device, it even let me choose which apps to install during the setup. I disabled all the Samsung apps. The usual bloat like Onedrive, Word, Facebook, Dropbox remained.
Its an EU device, so Exynos and ISOCELL, but I'm quite satisfied.
My S6 served me 2 years and should've been able to serve longer if it'd stop overheating, hence the upgrade. Looking forward to having the S9 for at least the same lifespan.
Like the phone and everything about it, EXCEPT that the battery sux bigtime.. I'm coming from a Huawei with a much larger battery and the S9 isn't lasting one day at all..

Love it. Don't be fooled from the "weaker Snapdragon 765G". UI is fluid af. Hats off to Google!
Battery life is unreal! Can't believe it after the disaster of the smaller Pixel 4 from last year ???
My Pixel 5 looks fantastic and hasn't skipped a beat. Fast, fluid and easy to use with one hand.
Best feature of the phone is the battery, for the first time on a smartphone I have managed 2 days on one charge. In comparison my Pixel 3XL would need a second charge in a day.
The consensus in the US is Jizz city. People our loving this phone. I must say it's nice after using it for a few days. Love the size. Size matters!
Overall good package. Nice size, smooth user experience, and great battery life.
Possible deal-breakers may be: buggy Android 11, no Miracast, no headphone jack, and possible screen gap defect.
God like phone, so damn smooth with the 90hz display.

Agreed. Other than when taking Night Mode pictures, I honestly haven't noticed any times where the phone felt slow.
I got rid of my 4 XL, I got sick and tired of nothing adopting the new API for biometrics, everything wants a fingerprint reader on android.
I love this thing, its not too big, not too small. Battery life is incredible. Tried and true pixel camera that takes great shots with no effort whatsoever. Feels fantastic in the hand with or without a case. Relatively cheap compared to current "flagships".
I listened to an entire 10 hour audiobook at work today ("the lost city of the monkey god", about 10.5 hours, incredible book if you're into archaeology) over bluetooth.... I was still at 68% battery, HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!?
I actually really like the in-screen speaker. For phone calls, it doesn't matter how you position it against your ear and everything sounds great to my standards. I don't expect the sound of a 10" sub in this thing.... its a phone.
To me, the camera may be "stagnant", but it takes great shots.... every.single.time. I don't want some fancy super-zoom or 108Mp sensor that cant focus. I want to take good shots, every pixel has done that for me and the 5 is no different.
As far as I'm concerned, google has a winner on their hands. Everything I care about in a phone and nothing I don't for a price that I can't argue with.
Really nice package. Smooth and reliable.
