How to remove retail demo mode? - Huawei P Smart Questions & Answers

So this phone came with retail demo mode out of the box and I cant deactivated. I have tried to deactivated through Developers option/Demo mode/Turn off, and despite it being off the retail demo mode still displays. I have tried to uninstall it via apps, and it "uninstalling retail mode unsuccessful". I have tried to hard reset it and nothing.

From what I've read, the only solution seems to be "rebranding" the device (by flashing a compatible non-demo firmware). There were a couple of "contact Huawei Support" statements too.

Factory reset options for an extremely restricted phone

I've never messed with a phone before and much of the jargon is new to me, so bear with me. I am in possession of a J5 that was issued by an employer who I am no longer with and would like to see if I can use it as a secondary phone or perhaps even replace my current one, but to do this I want to factory reset it first. It has AirWatch installed and has many settings and apps inaccessible, it is extremely restricted. I have looked around on the internet and most options for factory resetting that I have came across so far involve settings being activated that I can't access, so I was wondering if anyone has any input as to what options I could try.
These are some issues I have with reset methods I have read about so far:
Upon trying a factory reset, I get the "MDM does not allow factory reset".
"Safe mode" seems to be disabled.
The google account on it was not made by me and I don't have any password for it.
No unenroll option available in Airwatch.
Can't enable automatic factory reset, it's greyed out.
A method I read about here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/solution-to-mdm-allow-factoryreset-t3327319 involves getting to the encryption settings, which I can't.
MTP USB device fails when plugged in to windows.
SmartSwitch won't connect, it just sits at the "Welcome" screen asking me to connect my device.
Odin requires USB debugging to be enabled, which I can't access from the settings menu.
Any ideas, or is it just basically a brick?

Pretty much all Samsungs have Knox. I do have the knox cleaner/reset for this device but for some reason I don't think that's what you need. If you can't get into download mode you can't flash in the Knox reset. From your description it sounds more like you are in some kind of FRP Binary lock. Or, are you sure you're not in Demo mode? Let me ask if you can use the device in any way?Are you in a bootloop. A bootloop is when you can turn on the device but it doesn;t load farther than the LOGO screen. If you turn it off can you access Recovery or Download mode (whether or not you can use it)? Are you getting redirected from them to another screen? Can you describe what you can do? Any and all symptoms you can list could help define your difficulty.
I'm having the same issue although mine is much worse it's from an app called netspark mobile it has device owner provisions and I cant do anything after disabling its accessibility options windows keep popping up continuously telling me to renewable them which will just close all windows and lock me out whenever I try to deactivate the device admin which is greyed out

Also me the same issue but tab s6 lite. Did anyone solve this ??.
It sounds to me like what each of you is talking about is third party security software sometimes used by businesses to prevent employees from installing unauthorized apps and to prevent people from seeing company data on lost or stolen devices. The only way I know of to remove that type of software is to have authorization from the original owner to have the software maker remove it.

[Help] Galaxy Tab A SM-T580 displaying error

Hey guys! Greetings from Spain
I've a Tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T580 and it displays the following error each time I power on: "An error has ocurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software.".
I can not go to any menu or somewhere else and I've seen it's a common troubleshoot when root or flash custom ROMs, but I've never done anything like that.
I've already tried the following things:
Connect it with Smart Switch, but the software says my model is not supported. As I've seen in some guides with this troubleshooting, I've tried to test with an older SmartSwitch release or try some options with "More" button, like reinstall device drivers or use Emergency recovery software tool, but device was not displayed on the list and any of these options have worked.
Connect it with Samsung Kies, but device is on "Connecting" status everytime and nothing else happens.
Try to reinstall an official ROM with Odin, however, is not possible to put it in Download Mode as when I press Home + Power + Vol Down it reboots displaying again the same error.
Contact with Samsung support, but they just asked me to follow stupid steps for newbies and conclude telling me I should go to an official technical service and pay as is not under warantee anymore.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can suggest is to unplug it while showing the error screen, and let the battery run down completely. Then plug in a charger while holding the three buttons.

Pilot error.
You're not holding the 3 buttons for long enough. Keep held down until download mode appears.
Hi,
I have this problem with this same tablet. I've spent several days trying every option on xda.
The one solution that seem to work for some people is referenced in this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79232815&postcount=40
I've tried to do this as well but odin fails while trying to flash system.img. Hopefully it works for you.
(somewhere in that same thread it said to get the "cellular south" firmware from sammobile and try to flash that as it is supposed to not have the FRP-lock feature which (among other things) blocks flashing from odin.)
After much grief with this tablet I think the best use case for it is to recycle it for parts, to use it as a paper weight or to throw it really hard into the head of the CEO of Samsung.

Recovery for Galaxy Tab Active 2 sm-t397u

I purchased the sm-t397u from ebay, but the seller did not tell me the Tablet is MDM locked. There was no return warning and I am trying to ship it back but so far it's a no go.
The tablet get's to a screen to enter a PIN with a message "this devices is managed by your organization". So obviously MDM is enabled.
I can boot into recovery mode via home+volume up + power but can't do factory reset - MDM prevents that.
Download mode is "disabled as well" - volume down + power only gets me to the Enter PIN screen again. So I was not able to try Odin + combination file
Is there anyway to recovery this or is it a brick? Seems I should be able to put files on microSD and read from recovery and/or possibly ADB (so far the USB connection has not worked, but I had Huawei drivers installed and need to try on a different laptop with clean Windows and Samsung USB only)
Thank you
OK, no money back but made some progress. I can now boot into the kiosk mode and can get ADB working. But still unable to remove the KNOX MDM enrollment - I can boot, do the setup it will kick in and I end up in kiosk mode.
Factory reset from the recovery mode is now possible, but it did not help.
Need some additional ideas please.
Thank you!
Hi.I have the same situation for a while.I saw a solution by rewriting the bootloader via jtag pins but seems too complicated and i lack the tools for that. How did you manage to enable kiosk mode ? did you manage to do something beyond that ?

Stuck in Bootloop, HiSuite not recognising, Erecovery failing to get package

Phone can currently only go to Emui eRecovery Menu (Only the download, restart and shutdown buttons are enabled), or fastboot recovery. Already had a new battery installed as a lot of videos suggested.
HiSuite also mostly sits on not connected, or at times asks me to confirm if the phone is asking me to enable debugging, which without being able to boot, of course it isn't.
Edit to add: when I attempt to tell Hisuite to go to recovery without powering on, it says device not supported, send to local service centre. Of course there is no centre in my country.
Is there any way to get past this, or at least to recover my personal data on this device?
