Hi, i have been searching this for a while , i have a note 4 running on stock rom 5.1.1 where i recently got a vr headset with controller where i realized they deny the controller to work with the note 4 despite the headset works just fine .
By researching i get to see that there were suggestions to either install a specific apk or root and change build.prop device number to another device then reinstall gearvr services , then i saw additional posts that both methods stopped working , due to system updates that would either ignore the outdated apk or bootlooping rooted devices .
So I came to think how about ported roms then i came to see posts claiming ported roms do not support gearvr etc .
Now i really need an expert opinion about this , were you ever able to use the controller with note 4 910c 5.1.1 ? if so what's the right way to it ? if through a port please specify which along with the cons of the port over the stock rom , i have read on most ports i googled complains that most sensors are broken with ports etc but non specify if gyroscope still work or not on those so i am a little lost here . any help is appreciated and thanks in advance !

Hi,
I have the SM-i900 Version with the snapdagon s801 x Quad Core, Qualcomm_LTE.
Guys, Screen Mirroring does NOT work when you are in Custom Status, this happened to be the same story when I googled and found S4 users had the same issue, was the same post after post after post of people stating the same thing "I get an error or hardware device error when screen mirror starts" or "It will start for 4 seconds then stop"
I have tried Triangle away, this did nothing.Kernel makers, Devs, wizards. Can you guys whip up something for this, it has nothing to do with Knox I don't care about knox. The problem is when you flash custom kernel it will give your phone custom status. Offcourse I can get official status if I flash the original kernel, but then whats the point of having an android if you cant tweak it. I mean Its kind of ridiculous not being able to run one of the BEST features of future tech "Screen Mirror" This has SO MANY uses its crazy not to be able to use it.
Can anyone direct me or maybe help find a way, this is for all of u, one day when you need to use it you will be asking Same question if you love tweaking your rom, you would not want to flash everything back to stock just so you can use that feature.
Ok Guys I found something -
So I grabbed the S800 Version as it was the closest to the S5 S801 I replaced the the file, First it reboot when I started Screen mirroring, then I tried it again and guess what? This time it actually worked and it mirrored my device onto the TV and then I see FC >> Allshare cast S/W Update
This is the update that is in the playstore, which gets updated automatically.
Anyway I can tell it doesnt work 100% so I removed it again.
I think we are very close to solving this problem, If we can somehow port this file to a S801 Version then I bet you Screen mirror will work.
Here is the File fix which was created for the S4 - I9506 S800 ---- http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...7&d=1409380066 From the same link I pasted below
I wonder if this can be ported to the S5 I dont think it should be that hard with the right tools.
Here is the S5 S805 Version https://www.dropbox.com/s/bpqtkskqcc...ht_wfd.so?dl=0
It will be greatly appreciated if someone was able to do it.
What I found out it is all about HDCP. and turning it off, I think its the same thing as Enforcing Selinux , If I was able to decompile a *.SO file in Windows I think I may have chance to do this myself.

OK my friend
is there any solution for sm g900h
Hey Team,
I finally got rid of the pesky Samsung S6 Edge. Bought the OP2 because of stock android and bigger screen etc. I have a couple of questions
1-) Mine is A2001 chinese model (which is same as other models), does the rooting method + custom roms work on it just like the normal models ?? (i.e the rom in the development section)
2-) Link to Root / flash twrp ? i can see a tool kit in the dev section. Is it stable ?
3-) is it safe to charge it from my PS4 ? i normal charge my phones when using my ps4
4-) Is the phone safe to flash / tinker with ? (of course i will know what i am doing )
1, Yes
2, don't know about the tool kit, but i would advise you learn about fastboot and ADB and download the android sdk, as all the tools are in there and you will have better knowledge to fix things if it goes wrong.
3, safe yes, but will charge very very slow i would guess. just use the charger.
4, yes of course its safe, and as you said its the chinese version, i would make sure you get yourself a stock oxygen os rom on it right away, to get rid of any malware that might be on it. (depending on where you purchased the device from of course)
+1 on all the answers by RossMacgill.
BTW, I think you missed the sticky at the top of this section:

Hi guys,
I've been looking on xda and google about getting my MirrorLink function to work in vain.
Let me explain :
- A lot of new cars and accessories have a "screen mirroring" function based en MirrorLink. I have a 208 Peugeot with SMEG+ using this MirrorLink technology. The principle is easy, you plug it on USB port of your car and you can use your phone on the screen of your car.
- it seems that some galaxy devices have build-in MirrorLink function (Note 4, S5, S6 for e.g)
let me give you some links to the official sites : http://www.mirrorlink.com/phones/Samsung and how to activate MirrorLink http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00038745/748763598/SM-G920AZWEATT
- some forums said Lollipop update would bring MirrorLink to Note 3 but I've installed the latest stock official update 5.0 and still nothing working.
So I was wondering if someone had a solution. I think this is purely software problem and I was wondering if getting a custom 5.1 rom or GN5 rom could solve the problem and bring MirrorLink support.
Also if its possible to add a manual update.zip just to give MirrorLink support :highfive:
I hope someone can help on that.
Thank you

Hello everyone i have N9005 and i can't record calls with any of the free play store apps i have tried about 10 apps almost every method in the app and i can't hear both sides on all methods except mic where i can only hear myself .
anyone had this problem and how did you solve it ?
some of the names i remember is ACR, automatic call recorder 2020 , call recorder automatic , cube acr ...... and more nothing is working idk why i even tried Bluetooth head set.

Hello everyone i have N9005 i wanted to record calls but couldn't with every program i have.
after googling i found that i can't without xposed so after a few hours of reading i found out there is root xposed and custom rooms so if anyone out there willing to help
Explain the difference between xposed and root
Easiest way to record calls on note 3 both sides
Are custom roms safe , i have had this phone since release never had an issue with original rom and now i use it for work mainly which is the reason i need to record calls (work orders are by phone)
If custom roms are safe could someone rank them based on their merits and drawbacks
My note is the international version i think KSA CSC 4G
Sorry for the long thread and thanks in advance for the help.

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems. As Android uses the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device gives similar access to administrative (superuser) permissions as on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or macOS.
Xposed is a framework that allows users to easily apply add-ons (called Modules) to the ROM. Rather than flashing a new ROM to get a specific feature, you can use Xposed to add individual features to whatever ROM you’re using, or even just the stock ROM.
Xposed doesn’t work perfectly on every device and all versions of Android. The release of Android Nougat presented some problems for Xposed, but those have since been mostly ironed out. Xposed Modules work best on stock Android and can sometimes not work as intended on Samsung devices. With all that in mind, let’s learn a little more.

No as many roms on here are no longer under development almost end of life development apart from Android OS roms .
Thanks for the info fo you know of a way i can record calls on note 3
Some rom do consist of built-in auto / manual call recording feature. I have tested that on crDroid (pie) and the result is good. You don't even need any exposed module.
Hi guys,
I have an androod tv box which has android 9
It's already rooted by the manufacture and the bootloader obviously unlocked
So, i think my only problem is that my device doesn't have a MicroUSB/Type-C port
It has a Usb3 and a Usb2 port
Even if i am able to install a custom how should i connect through ADB? Without a micro or type-c port
I read another forum on XDA and it looks like i shoukd know the board manufacture, the chipset and so many things but i don't want to open it up i just want a better rom on my android box brcause it's a bit bloated by the manufacture and it annoys me that i can't install good launchers for some reason i tried many launvhers but they never work
I only got AndroidTV Launcher running which too simole and doesn't have many features
Please help me
Thank you so much
