Not sure why it would be missing since Sprint plans come with hotspot now. Did you flash via odin? Are you on Sprint?

I recently updated to the MKF update on my i9505 BTU. Prior to this my mobile internet was fine. Since the update I am unable to get any mobile internet. All settings are checked to ensure I should be, the APN hasn't been deleted and I've got no idea why this should have changed anything. I'm on the EE mobile network.
Any ideas?

Thanx I'll get back to you when I have trIed these options.
I successfully rooted using towelroot and installed supersu. I also installed foxfi. It was able to get me past the mobile hotspot problem but still could not tether. It requested I install pd(something) On the computer first..Wil this always be the case? Can I not tether without installing that on the computer?
Also I have had to reset to factory settings because i happended to activate "talk back", the result was that the phone kept reading everything i touched but thats all it did meaning i could not select anything, not even switch off or do anything!! Not even unchecking talk back..instead it would read out loud "talk back" and the phone was hanging so bad ..another thing is the foxfi prompted for a password which then took over the screen lock. I went to screen lock settings to disable but the option of disabling was unavailable.
I have also noticed after trying to use the Light touch option that it works so terribly on 4.4.2. The whole screen un uniformly flashed pink at every touch in such a way that an epileptic would not survive the effects. I had to switch the phone off for this to be disabled as well. So there goes the woes of my Samsung galaxy s3 sch-I535 Verizon. Anyone able to address all my issues is more than welcome. Note: foxfi did not sort the tether problem. It sorted the hotspot though.
Download xposed installer. Then use xtether module. Then use st9ck hotspot app

Hello guys, I have found a way to make the hostpot work on our LG G5 verizon, of course without needing a verizon sim, I accidentally found it and I share it with you, here the steps are very simple:
1. The first thing to do is download the app ES Explorer (from the play store or the apk I will put the link at the end of the post).
2. Open it (skip the initial configuration, it is not important) and go to the option of sender.
3. Touch the RECIVE option, then our device will force to create a hostpot.
4. Now we can close the app and enter settings and configure our hostpot freely :fingers-crossed:.
I hope this form works for you to make it work.

No, I'm in nougat too, when you give the option to receive in ES explorer, it says: current network: G5_xxxx? (The X may vary depending on the device)
no it keeps telling me my sim card isnt verizon and ended up with nothing. I do the same method using ShareIt apps as I think it do the same way in creating hotspot for file sharing but still can't, and now I think I can't do files sharing via hotspot network at all which is the best way to transfer files. and also, could not tether a hotspot to my laptop...

But in the phones that I tested all have nougat installed, with the latest updates of April 2017.
Yeah, mine just pops up: "Tethering; Data network connection is not available. Mobile Hotspot/USB tethering service needs Verizon data network in order to work" when trying to do that. Non-root phone.

I am very happy to know this way to activate the hostpost you found it worked, I thought that no one else would work , after trying on 4 different devices and worked perfectly but apparently to those who try the method that leaves here you have not had luck. I hope it continues to be useful to other users.

Hi everyone, is there a way to turn on wifi hotspot using stock firmware? It keeps saying checking for verification. I got mines unlocked and using Tmobile using B170 security update. Thanks in advance.
Search for hotspot and you should find how in another thread in the Ascend XT section.

I can't find anything, wasn't there an app you download and you change the setting on it and it lets you bypass the verification check? Its been a while since I used this phone.
