Default scaling is 411. I like to use the phone with 449 but then the live message area gets too small.. with 419 it works ok but the icons are just too big.. meh
I am running 600 dp, but then I like small. If you want smaller icons, Nova Launcher Provides alot of changes to fit your needs. Hopefully this helps.

I use Lawnchair Launcher and change the icon size to make the icons bigger.
Im using 600 with gboard when browsing, and 500 for default.
FYI I am sure this is same as S9 and Note8 -- If you change the DPI to anything higher than 411 (for WQHD settings) it will eventually re-set if you adjust the Zoom in the Font Size screen. It will also re-set on reboot sometimes.
I just leave it on 411 because it saves me the random headache.

You can find out your true DPI here.

OzVGA is totally killing me. I have spent hours trying to make mu ozVGA setting work, but bloody thing is just do small.
After applying the VGA .dll's WHAT OZVGA SETTINGS DO YOU USE???
When i switch from seVGA to ozVGA things just go crazy small.
WHAT'S WRONG???
in oz im using these settings
1200 not bold
1350 not bold
19
19
19
750,900,975,1200,1500
The font arrays relate to the text size slider in the screen settings
I'm using the same font sizes for true VGA and for the qVGA-mode. It means that fonts are small on the screen but oh so beautiful! Larger font sizes just made certain things look ugly, which kinda defeated the purpose of switching to VGA, IMHO.
I guess it depends what you're using your Universal for. Most of the apps I'm using allow me to scale their fonts so when I need larger fonts I can have them. Only the Microsoft apps have unscalable fonts...
Make sure you have the text size set to medium in the Screen control panel applet. I found that it helps to turn Cleartype OFF as well.
And I wear glasses
what about phone app, myne goes all funny, and very small. I can barely see numbers, and the whole keypad just stays at the corner of the screen. that,s abir annoying.
and I think I will have to wear glasses very soon with text size like that.
svyatko - this is all being discussed in the other thread, with suggestions for replacements etc...

When I say big I meant to say 16x16 or 32x32 whatever is the average size I keep seeing on all those nice themes and WM5 based PDA phones...
Is there some kind of plug in or how I do it...?
I am sorry I'm a noob - but anyone willing to help me? Thank You!!!!!!!
Tnx
Try reading the iPhone threads and see how they're implemented...
Generally claunch or wisbar...

For big icons, you could also try iLauncher, PocketPlus, and... didn't somebody else just release a new tab launcher?
As vijay noted, the fanciest screens are pretty much gonna be using Wisbar or claunch.
go to screen settings, ie for stylus setup, then youll see text size!
i can't set icon size over 32px with cLauch

The icon itself can't be over 32 pixels, but you can set the actual size of the icon on the screen larger than that. However, you *may* lose some resolution in doing that.
I use claunch too. Its simple and very usefull application. bravo maheri, kar tako naprej. Keep on, maisters.

i see.
so then, no more solution it's simple same cLaunch?
i don't like wisbar.
any simple software like cLaunch can make my PPC like iPhone
Yes. All you need is cLaunch. Keep your maximum icon size at 32 and then set the icon size you want on the screen. I've seen some good results with icons as large as 48 on the screen. I personally set my icon size on the screen for 36 -- but that's only due to how I want it to end up looking with a set number of rows and tabs.

Hi guys,
I'm trying out LCDDensity and it works well except the space on each screen for icons does not change? By this i mean, when the resolution was at 240, i could fit 5 icons across. Now that i've changed it to 180, there is extra space on the right hand side but i can't put any icons on there.
Is that correct or is there a way around it?
That is correct. The stock launched has designated a 5x5 icon space on the homescreen. Changing your density won't change that.

I have mine set to 220. Doesn't add much real estate on the screen but the picture does look more crisp.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I've set mine to 182, so the camera app still looks nice and downloaded AWD launcher. This way I can change the number of icons to 8x8 instead of the stock 5x5 icons.
I have just installed HyperDroidGBX which have low dpi. I like it a lot, with exception of one problem - widgets. They are smaller and have a lot of free space round them now.
Is there any way to stretch them, so they would be normal size?
EDIT: look at the attachment if you have no idea, what am i talking about. There is too much free space.
download propeditor.apk and look in build.prop for lcd.density.. change it to 240 or any other value
i see you have launcherpro.. let me make a suggestion - change the LCD.density to 194 and set the number of rows per page to 6.. it looks clean and fits both large set widgets, small set widgets and shortcuts perfectly
I wanted to keep the density, but thanks for the 194 suggestions. I will try it.
Wait, where to set number of rows to 6? I can only find option to increase it to 5.

Launcherpro 0.8.4.1 has the options for columns and rows up to 10, maybe only the pro(paid) version has this feature.

Ah, i have found it. I was looking into advanced section, where was only one option (to extend to 5 rows). Thanks.
Looking for the screen resolution to be smaller.
The font is set to small, actually looking for a tiny font.
In other words the screen fonts are to big, I guess.
Do I need to load a custom rom?
Thanks
Sent from my Portable
you don't need a custom rom, you can update the displayDPI in your build.prop as long as you have root. You should be able to update the number to update the size of the elements on your screen, give it a quick google!
