H910pr model any root or roms ? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello xda recently i purchased v20 "claro" model unlocked on great deal 150$ everything seems working fine but i was Samsung user for years and can't live without root.
I am new to lg devices and searching all over internet about H910PR model any custom roms or root available but i cant find it.
I saw about "dirty santa" root method but i am confused the post did not mentioned H910PR in listed devices.
If anyone know root method or any roms for this perticular model will be great.
TIA

there are security patch of november 1, 2017, but i cannot update it. when i checked it said that your software up to date. how can i update my software? as i am in india, i was not able to go USA.
I think you will probably need an active AT&T SIM card.

Not possible in India
No at&t in India.
Install the update via the KDZ
No kdz is available for AT&T variant. It is probably not possible to root it as dirty Santa won't work. Why you bought such phone. You could have gone for international variant or T-Mobile. If you can install TWRP somehow then you can install custom rom or update by zip

Check the guides section. You can root the h910 all the way up to 10r which is the latest firmware available. It's the how to root h910 guide by runningnak3d. Walks you through the entire process. Since you don't have an active ATT sim the only way to update is to root and install zips through twrp. The process is pretty straight forward and requires flashing another variants kdz and then using dirtysanta to get an unlocked bootloader and flash twrp.

Lol. Still it is useless buying when you can't get full stock firmware along all latest upgrades. The OP want to upgrade not to root or twrp. That's stupid warning everytime you boot. Phone draining battery after 2 or 3 weeks of fine performance.

LG H820 Woes

So a friend of mine purchased one of the H820's on amazon and now it's impossible to update it seems since we're in Canada with no AT&T option.
I've looked all over for roms/kdz files and the answer is : SOL.
Is there any custom alternative roms like Tizen/lineage/*anything!!!* that works well instead?
(I looked on lineage's site and there seems to be no version for the h820 )
Updates
Search the forums for how to get the updates in Canada. I'm on Rogers with an H820 and I've just got the Jan 1 security patch. You need an At&t active sim. As for custom roms, I agree, SOL.
friends or family with at&t carrier
hello friends from colombia, i tryed with *#546368#*820# field test, dm/fota test, i can see my user=imei and pass=xxx but it doesn'' t work....i think that if you have a friends with at&t carrier can update and search the update in the internal memory and share. What do you think? search friends that have a at&t as carrier, in the forum..etc
Any updates on this? I'd love to be able to root my LG G5 H820 and install LineageOS on it.

Which LG V20 has the most support?

If i were to get a LG v20, which version should i buy if i am concerned with rooting, bootloader unlocking, and roms and such?
The at&t variant is the one that can be rooted on all the software versions the company has released thus far. This might change though in any future updates the company releases. The rest can also be rooted, but only up to certain software versions (mostly those released prior to mid-2017, for the T-Mobile variant, updating to H91810P and beyond means you can't root, yet).
The factory unlocked US996 (not to be confused with the us cellular us996) is the only one that LG provides an official means to unlock the bootloader which is a key part of rooting and installing custom ROMs. The others must rollback to an old version (which isn't possible on recent Sprint and T-Mobile firmware but the framework is there for any carrier to stop it) to root/install a custom ROM. Besides that both x86cpu (main maintainer of LineageOS for the V20) and myself ( I fell into maintaining TWRP for the V20) have the US996.
I recently bought a used H910 AT&T from ebay running 10m
Had to downgrade to unlock bootloader and install TWRP but working like a charm...
is the us996 model the same one as the t-mobile version? is there a way to tell which us996 is which?
Hi, sorry for asking this if it sounds dumb but i am not good in rooting and custom rom stuff i just use stock rom. Recently I also bought h910 and it has some issues regarding the os. How to know that i need to downgrade the android to unlock boot loader for installation of twrp? Can you help me?
I am also having this issue which i posted in xda, may be you are aware of it.

As far as i check and know there is only one us996 model and that's the us cellular variant
@runningnak3d has recently developed a method to root T-Mobile H918. (main thread here)
Several members have reported successfull root, and it appears the method is successful on many other V20 models (even other LG phones) as well.

Switching firmware for SM-G975U (need advice)

Hi guys, need some advice on S10+.
I'm from an Asia country and last year I bought a new S10+ from a online seller which does grey imports for mobile phones, because I want a Snapdragon version over the Exynos, which is what most Asia countries get.
The Model number (SM-975U) and Baseband version (G975USQS3CTB6) are indicating this is a US variant but I can't tell which carrier it is because there is no carrier logo on the phone or when I turn on the phone, no bloatwares as well.
The only down side is this Baseband/carrier does not have updates since March 2020. I tried checking for updates but got nothing.
What I try to get:
1. Latest original firmware which will continue to update itself (hopefully)
2. No carrier bloatware
3. No need root or custom roms (Doesnt go well with banking apps)
I have experience rooting and flashing custom firmware on my previous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, but I can't remember if I have done unlocking bootloader before, lol.
Need advice on:
1. Which firmware should I choose?
2. I remember XDA forums used to have useful Guide under Sticky Threads but now I don't see it. I hope this guide will be able to help me with what I am trying to do.
3. I probably sound stupid here, is there any flashable settings file that is friendly to Asian region/telco? I am noticing a bit of network weakness on my phone, I hope its just me.
Thanks to anyone who reads this.
You've aquired the US Unlocked Snapdragon variant, it's not associated with any US carrier and it's not bootloader unlocked. Flashing updated FW is likely your best bet, it's available here.

The only other option for an update is Samsung's SmartSwitch. Whether or not it's compatible depends on your local service provider.
