Problem I would like to solve? - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

I have a device after opening the bot
I do not know what happened
The device is always hanging on the logo
And do not get into the Recovery
Just enter the bot.
Possible solution

What did you do?

I opened the bot
Then I tried to install one modified roms

DL the stock ROM from the essential site and install it via fastboot. If you're not sure what you're doing read the guides. There's a very good one that lists the steps for rooting stock and installing custom ROMs. Look in guides.

fastboot not work

"fastboot not work" isn't very clear. Go read some guides. There are loads on here and the net about using fastboot. You need to understand what you're doing and be able to explain what you've done.

No recovery?

So I have been trying at putting a custom rom and partitioning the phone with LDXE or Ubuntu for about two days now. I have tried several different custom recovery.img files but I keep running into the same issue. I can't flash the recovery through fastboot because the phone isn't rooted. I cannot root the phone because the phone isn't rooted. This is because the rootme tutorials require that you flash the recovery before the phone is ever rooted. Now, whenever I goto the recovery screen I also get an exclamation point over a phone. I read in a few places that this is also a big issue but I couldn't find how to fix it.
So does anyone have any advice on rooting this HTC sapphire 32A?

No, you can't flash a recovery image via fastboot because you have a perfected/non-engineering SPL, but you'd need root flash this.
Could you post the information shown in fastboot and the information in Settings>about?

Bricked - Nexus S :(

OK first of all:
1 - I am a total noob
2 - Because of #1, I shouldnt have been doing this!
I unlocked my bootloader and was in the process of rooting my phone and when it booted up, I am stuck at the google screen with the unlocked lock at the bottom...any help here?
i CAN take out battery and load into the mode where I press volume up and power at the same time...if that helps.
When I do take out the battery, put it back in, then press the power and volume up buttons, then select recovery, I get a triangle with the "!" in it...dont know if that means anything to anyone or not.
When u get to the triangle part, Hold Power then press volume up. This will get you into recovery.
BUT you need to flash ( or re-flash) clockwork recovery via fast-boot ( follow the root guides) because looks like you didn't flash it.
Since you were attempting to root anyway, may I suggest you head over to the rooting guide, flash clockworkmod recovery and get a pre-rooted stock nandroid?
It lets me reboot the phone from there, but freezes on the google logo with the unlocked lock screen.
I cant seem to get the recovery img...like the link is bad....where else can i get it?
I googled and got the file, but when I type the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" it says it cannot load "recovery.img" any help here?

Are you on a mac or a PC?
If you're on a mac I would suggest Kenvan19's rooting guide. It works great!

Chuckenfoot, Go to Paul's site Android Modaco see link above. I could'nt get fast boot commands to work and I almost gave up. His superboot method is absolutely the easiest method to get root and then you can install CWM. Follow his instructions and you'll be golden. Good Luck.

Superboot does make kernel modifications FYI. If you want to be completely stock and rooted so you can still get OTA superboot will prevent that.

Recovery flashing confusion?

Hi! As a lot, I have trouble installing a custom recovery on lg g2 d802 (on a friend's device.
Rooted.
software version: d802 10e-262-02
android 4.2.2
I tried some stuff. Nothing worked.
ROM manager app from play store installed somthing which says on recovery no Actions, and an error image. I stuck now with this recovery...
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/lates...-international-d802-with-one-click-installer/
didn't work.
http://www.lg-phones.org/clockworkmode-cwm-recovery-for-lg-g2.html
didn't work
TWRP manager app from play store, selectiong g2d802 says they cannot find somthing for my device. If I select an twrp.img file, also says they have nothing for my device.
I tried other guides too, but I cannot remember. So many.
I see about flashify in youtube, but comments below complaining even for bricked devices
I even think I now get "device offline" from adb.
--
I now see this guide.
http://www.lg-phones.org/twrp-custom-recovery-for-lg-g2-vs980-d800-d801-d802.html
with locki_flash.
Is it safe? I don't know. But I tried lots of things with no success and if I keep trying,I worry about bricking at some point. Can someone provide a safe method to flash a custom recovery?
Or just try from fastboot
fastboot flash recovery twrp_recovery.img
???

OPT is stuck and I cannot fix it

I was trying to install The paranoid custom rom 6.0.1 to my OPT when I started to running into an issue with boot looping. The phone would run through the bootup animation and then say it way starting up the apps. Once it was done with all the apps it would just start rebooting again. I tried to get into recovery to flash an old rom but I couldnt get in to recovery (holding the volume down and power button just turns the screen on and then back off.) I then tried this firstaid script I found on here that would supposedly install an older twrp and allow me to get into recovery mode, but that has not worked. And now I cannot even get the phone to go to a boot animation, it just sits on the oneplus logo. Adb is not detecting my device on windows or mac, but fastboot is working. At this point I have no idea of what to do, becuase even if I get into recovery I dont have a backup rom stored on my phone. If anyone has any ideas, I please share, I am in desperate need of help here.
Flash fastboot images search and follow naman's unbrick guide, skip the data partition to keep your files

This thread will help you, https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...wrp-root-nandroid-efs-backup-and-more.345478/
if you use twrp recovery and is not working on the Vol+ "-", try this way : RENAME your recovery file into twrp.img and flash it again.
If is not working,
following this thread first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-official-op2-stock-reset-to-oos-3-t3402020
Then repeat my rename recovery method.
SOFT brick
You are a happy owner of a SOFTbricked OP2, happends mostly when you corrupt the partions. It easy to recover by Oneplus guide. You can use the link provided above by colleague on oneplus forum or this one XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-unbrick-recover-oneplus-2-to-t3269543. GO step by step works 100%

Nexus 6p struck in boot loop

Hi,
My Nexus 6p was running the latest OTP update of Android Nougat successfully, Suddenly while using google maps it, restarted and went into a boot loop. All i can see is the unlocked bootloader warning (i had unlocked the bootloader earlier) and then the google logo.
I am able to go into bootloader mode and my system identifies my device as a fastoboot device .
I was able to access my stock recovery but while trying to fix my phone, i tried installing twrp recovery and now whenever I choose the option of recovery mode using my volume keys. it again shows the google logo and nothing happens after that.
I have tried many things, but I am not able to resolve my boot loop. Somebody please help me. Please guide me what should be my approach to this problem
Regards
Ishmeet

FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS ONLY IF ANYTHING BETTER DOESNT COME UP BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO FEEL GUILTY IF YOU "FUBAR" YOUR PHONE. I am not an expert in this stuff.. I can only follow instructions and the two videos helped me get out of crappy situation in the past couple weeks.
Follow the two videos below on how to re-install your drivers properly and flash and root Nougat 7.0
First go delete your driver from your PC via Device Manager. Anything that you can associate with N6P or Google.
Then watch this video on how to install new drivers.
This video on how to install Nougat
If you can access fastboot, I would just follow Heisenbergs guide (look In the stickies) and reflash the N stock images manually via fastboot. Also, make sure that you flash the recommended TWRP version that he has linked in his guide otherwise you will have problems with recovery. His guide has saved me multiple times when I messed up my phone.

I am in something similar situation but the thing is computer does not detect any device and phone just shows google. I ended up in this situation after I was trying to flash zip drivers for google assistant. But now I am not able to access recovery mode even.

I think I figured out mine problem. I am not sure what you mean by locked bootloader but in my case I was able to reboot to bootloader by pressing all three buttons (Volume up, Volume down and power button) at the same time.
Once you are there and if your bootloader is already unlocked you can flash your own android. Probably this process is called unbrick your phone. I am surprissed and sad as I am not allowed to post link which can help you. Ask admin.
Any related problem while following process. I can try as I am not very expert.
RIP my English.
Thanks

And that's why it's a good idea if you do ANY tinkering to your phone that you have an unlocked bootloader. I have screwed my phone up a hundred times over but nothing that a fastboot flash of the stock Google images couldn't overcome.
I'm not sure what situation you're in but I would try to get that bootloader unlocked asap. Just know that when you unlock it, every partition on the phone will be completely wiped to include internal storage (sd card).
I wasn't tinkering that's the thing. I was on the Android beta but I have installed those OTA. I would love to be able to unlock the bootloader but none of the commands will work to unlock it because usb debugging was not enabled or the developer options and I can't boot it to change that.
