Hello guys , since the last 2 updates, videos from my facebook news feed play on very low resolution 144p even if i checked Automatic (videos with the best quality available) .I only have 2 options , Automatic and 144p. Only the LIVE videos are working in HD. I have a friend that has the same problem on the same device. I have searched all the settings trying to fix this problem but didnt succeeded. Sorry for my english and Thank you in advance.
I have the same problem. Sometimes even Instagram videos play at 144p or 240p, so it makes me think that it's a problem with the phone/OS not the apps.
I also have the same problem. I tried to install older versions of the facebook app, but the problem persists, and i only can choice 144p resolution. Sometimes i can set to 280p and rarely (it happenned once) i can set to 640p. I think it's a system problem, and I noticed this problem about two months ago too.
Same here , plus I don't have the YouTube 1440p resolution...i have the latest stock version of Android ,no custom rom.

It happens with me too, any 4k youtube videos are showing the 1440p resolution anymore.. it didn't happen before too. I just send a feedback to google in system options, but I hope that android 9 custom's rom fixes it.
Anything new? i'm having the same issue on my N6P
any news? same here as well.
Annoying af.

I managed to fix it changing the device name to Pixel XL in build.prop file. It seems a facebook app bug with the nexus 6p specially. I sended a lot of reports to facebook, but they don't fix it.
I FOUND SOLUTION !!!
Open build.prop with ES Explorer and wherever you find Nexus 6P, change the name to Pixel XL. In build.prop you have 2 command lines with the name Nexus 6P, change on the 2 lines. Restart the phone and you're done ...

Hi,
Has anyone tried Snapseed? I have issues with it. It doesn't load the photos that I want to edit. At times, it works and at times it gets stuck at "loading". Using QCM10. 12.22.12

workaround for snapseed
There is a workaround for this issue :-
1. Open the pic in any other editor and crop it in 1:1 ratio.
2. Copy the pic in 'snapseed' folder.
3. Open this pic in snapseed using open with option . The pic will load perfectly.
I am having same issue and I can not use this excellent application Snapseed.
I was searching information about this issue on internet and there are few information. This could be because of camera EXIF data bug (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41096900&postcount=12922).
Hy everyone,
I managed to extract the Asus Splendid aplication from Asus Fonepad, but the problem is that i can't test it yet due to a warranty problem with my nexus 7. So if someone with a rooted Nexus Tablet can test it if it works would be wonderful.
You need to unrar the arhive, then coppy the two files in system/app on the tablet, set permisions to the apk file, and then reboot the tablet and see if it works.
Please anounce me if this app works on our device, it would be just great if it does, because on the others asus tablets (fonepad, memopad HD) it has such a huge impact on color saturation, vibrance, temperature.
nope don't seem to work.
do not see the apk in my drawer nor in settings
don't think any kernel supports color changes on n7 (even Franco's color adjuster is only on the n4 only)

Did you set the permisions (rw, r, r) to apk after coppying it to system/app?

yes and also full permission as well (rwxrwxrwx)
Ok, thank you so much for trying. I was hoping that it would work, and now i'm a little bit disappointed, but maybe someone, someday will manage to fix this issue with a custom kernel.
Anyone try this new feature out?? I can get it to make the movie, however, when I go to save it... Google+ crashes... anyone else experiencing this??
Anyone? lol
I'm experiencing the same thing and it's maddening. I tried uninstalling and re-installing. I got the movie to save once and that was it. I'm on a Sprint Galaxy Note 3.

At least you have the option i dont have the option!
AutoAwesome Crash
I've had the same crash experience on my devices. On the HTC One it just crashes the app, on the Nexus 5 though is completely restarts the phone...
Same here.
I am on KitKat 4.4.2 (Nexus 5).
Experienced same problem on KitKat 4.4 (always on Nexus 5).
Hope they will fix it soon!
Got the same problem (some movies could be saved, some not) but just now the G+ app stopped creating auto awesome effects and the movie icon to make manual movies has disappeared.... anyone ?
I am on Note 3 stock rom 4.4.2
Hello fellow G2 lovers.
I previously had the HTC One (great phone!) and loved using the Auto Awesome Video Editor / Creator within the Google Photos app. It's pretty great.
Imagine my surprise when I got the G2, which I love, and found out that the Google Photos app won't let you use the video editing features except for a few select devices. Nexus 4 and 5, One, etc.
Can I edit the device ID within my build.prop to trick this app into thinking I have a Nexus 5 (for example) and use the video editing features?
Has anyone else done this?
Thanks!

well some people have done this before and it has worked but if something were to happen afterword like a soft brick that can only be restored via download mode it may state that your phone is a nexus 5 and you won't be able to restore so in other words you can do so at your own risk
Hey guys, i was trying really hard to get youtube with the maximum resolution supported by the Note 4 but so far the only way was using a hack into the build.prop but that hack kills S-Note so i didn't want to keep it. Anyway playing tonight with the phone i was able to find a little trick of how to get this working as expected while keeping S-Note.
Let's start with the guide.
My Info:
1. Android 4.4.4, RAPTURE 1.0 by iB4STiD
2. KT-Note 4 Kernel by ktoonsez with SELinux permissive.
Requirements:
1. Root
2. Xposed Framework 2.6+
3. Titanium Backup or any system app remover
Guide:
1. First, you need to get rid of the current youtube app that you have installed, so go the Settings > Application Manager > All > Find YouTube > Click on it, then click on Force stop, click on clear cache, clear data and finally uninstall. (If you don't have the option to uninstall it but you have the option to turn it off then go to step 2)
2. Open Titanium Backup and search for youtube, long press over it and select the option to uninstall it, after this you should not have any youtube app in your device.
3. Install this YouTube App: YouTube 5.18.5 and don't open it
4. Open Xposed Framework, and click in Download, then search for YourTube (with the R after You and before Tube) and download the last version, after it installs don't reboot, search again this time for YouTube AdAway and download the last version.
5. Go to Xposed Framework again, and click in Modules, select YourTube and YouTube AdAway.
6. Reboot the phone
7. Open YourTube and change the following settings: Maximum default quality = 1440p, Override device support (check the box)
8. Open YouTube AdAway and select the following settings: Hide Ads and Hide logo and suggestions
9. Reboot the phone
10. Open YouTube and enjoy the Note 4 resolution.

Please let met know if this does work for you guys.
Did not work for me. I followed your instructions and used the following versions.
Youtube 5.18.5 (your provided link)
YourTube 1.2.4
Youtube AdAway 2.1.3
My Info:
Android 4.4.4, DynamicKat 2.0 NJ7 by bri315317
Thanks for your attempt. I hope this gets solved soon :crying:
This sucks. Especially because the 5.18.5 version is supposed to fix higher resolution for the g3 note 4 and nexus 6... But they're still not working. What's going on google?

Use the APK i put in my post not the one from play store, also sometimes it requires more reboots, in my case it was working but i opened the yourtube app and youtube adaway and it stopped working but after i rebooted it started working again. Also i attached more screenshots showing what xposed modules i have installed.

I tried this method and youtube and I could only get 720. I did however see another thread that had another method to acquire 2160 res and to my luck it worked but at the expense of my snote for some reason. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2950682 not to say this won't work I'm saying if you can't get it this way maybe like me this other method could work. Credit to the author here and in the other thread thank them for the leg work.

Ok, following the OP directions, and installing the linked YouTube, which was a newer version than I had installed or available on the play store (as of today's date anyway). I only got 720p...
HOWEVER
By reading the post linked in the quote above, I edited to build.prop to read version 5.0 instead of 4.4.4, and I instantly got 1440p. And as far as I can tell, snote is still working (though I don't use snote, so I'm just launching it and verifying it doesn't crash)
Here's what I changed in build.prop
5. Open build.prop
6. Change the line at ro.build.version.release=4.4.4 to ro.build.version.release=5.0 and save
