Depth mode requires a dual camera setup, doesn't it?
Yes, the G5s plus comes with a rear dual camera setup.
It comes with a "depth enabled" mode in the stock camera app. This stock camera app was not present in the custom ROM, hence removing one of the main features of this phone.
This whole thread is in the wrong forum.
Please ask again in your own devices section.
Thank you
Hi all.
We all know rootless procedure of MI A1 installing pixel camera but while that for some moment bootloader is open for installing camera 2 api again close bootloder.
What if some readon bootloader is open mistakely and stay open bootloder.?
Is there any way to close bootloder again.?
Hows pixel camera performance in primary and secondary in low light compare to stock camera.?
Is there any chance to brick mobile( i.e totally useless) becasue i take MI A1 only 3 month ago and in under warrenty so need comments and help before i install or try.
Thanks in advance.
I need help please
I would like to know if It is possible install the Google Camera on the Galaxy S5 G903F and if possible I would like if someone help me because I already tried adding the line "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled = 1" to enable the Camera2 API but apparently it does not enable it and I think it is the reason why the GCam is closed. I have installed LineageOS 15.1 of the day 15/5 / 18.Thank you in advance
The are multiple reasons why Google camera won't work with on the s5. The first is that the s5 is 32bit compared to the 64 bit of Google camera. Second, the is currently no way to get camera2api support as it requires almost impossible reverse engineering. Plus lineage 15.1 is still unstable and the camera always require extra work
Hi,
I read a lot in this forum and in other sites about the possibility to enable Camera2API on our fantastic MINote3 phone but, at the end, I don't understand if is possible to enable che Camera2API WITHOUT root the device. Can someone give me a final answer about this question ?
PS
If the answere is "yes, is possible without root", then other questions are:
is ok this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/tool-google-camera-root-magisk-enable-t3747585/page10 (see post 98) or is only ok for MI A1 ? Are there other methods ?

If you can install TWRP you can enable it without rooting your system, as TWRP has root priveliges while it is running.
Here you can find a zip file to flash in TWRP to enable it.
I have used it.

Yes, I have done it myself on Mi Note 3 running the latest Xiaomi.eu weekly 8.4.26.
I have also done it on Mi Max Prime, Mi Mix, and Mi Note 2.
If you had read the whole thread you would have seen my posts.

Thank you soo much for all your informations.
Only one question: is necessary to flash the twrp on the device or is enough to load the twrp via the command "fastboot boot twrp.img" ?

It "should" work to only boot into TWRP without flashing it.
That is if you do not want to install TWRP, just use it once.
The next time you reboot, your new TWRP will be gone again.
I have not tried this myself.
I will try the procedure where I only boot twrp (without flash it) then will try to enable camera2api parameters on built.prop and also change permission of this file (with su permission).
I will update this thread with a feedback about the operation
Hi,
finally I enable Camera2API on Mi Note 3 (with last official global rom) WITHOUT root the device. These are my tasks:
- unlock the bootloader (with MI official utility) and lost all my data
- flash TWRP Red Wolf then run it and, to give the right access to the partitions, I wipe and format my device from the TWRP menu and reboot the device
- Then, from TWRP, I install "HZQ_MIUI_Camera_Mod_CAMERA2_API_170824.zip"
Thanks Cobben for the good informations
PS
Now I use GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.2.apk and run very well. The quality of the night shoots is better a lot respect xiaomi default camera
I add that with gcam the videos are better that xiaomi cam:
- less nois
- better color
- much details
Then, at the end, gcam become the main camera app on my device (and I will use xiaomi cam only for boken effect or camera zoom)

Hi, I installed the Xiaomi.eu rom and installed also the Google camera (v.7.9.4 - everything is working correctly even the Slow motion). I can say that the Miui camera is on par with Google camera or a level down. The Miui camera uses the algorithm in the open-source Gcam app. You can try the Xiaomi.eu rom which is based on China rom - it is great.
In my case instead I use the last global 9.5.3.0 and gcam is the best
Hey guys, Redmi 2 is a warrior and survivor, but in the last years using the phone ar really hard.
My model have only 1gb of ram, just for youtube and whatsapp, but sometimes the phone .... make me crazy.
it's possible make a port of idk, KaiOS? or Redmi GO system? Just to make the phone more stable and good working.
or some tips? Already tried some modules, apps for blocking secondary apps and deep sleep.
Yes, it is possible and ez, for go system just enable some stuff in build.prop
For KaiOS tho, no, it is a close-source operating system so no possible way.
If you have a Redmi 2 1GB i recommend Android N maximum for Android version because Android Oreo still isn't optimized to this very day. The best Android N ROM i used is AOSP-CAF so try it, it is good for a daily driver device.
