In android p there is a new feature which is called adaptive battery. It pushes the apps that consume a lot of battery to a restricted app but the problem is that we cannot add the app manually. Maybe we can use adb to get thing done?
you can restrict any app manually, go to settings > apps & notifications
pick the app you want to restrict, select advanced > battery > background restriction
Hi, if I restrict some apps, Facebook for instance, will I keep receiving notifications normally? Will the app act weird?
Many thanks

What putting an app under "restricted apps" actually does?

Decreases the amount of time your app runs in the background.
You'll probably get bunched up delayed notifications. Did you give it a try and see?

If I think it's what you're asking.... Settings within the Play Store. Uncheck "auto add widgets" to home screen.

There are some nice enough developers to include a option to hide an icon from a Live Wallpaper settings. But that's only with about 20% of them. The rest are just creating a mess there. I have a lot of these Live Wallpapers, I often like to change the looks of my home screen.
It has become really hard to find apps, well you either have to slowly browse through them all to find what you have installed, or remember the names of the apps. I think Google should give users an option to hide and manage hidden apps. Or is there already a way? (without rooting)
You can hide apps by going to settings, apps and selecting the app you desire and press disable. Those that are disabled won't appear on your app menu. This feature is on stock ROM or not.

I'm on android 4.4.2 and there is no such option. And wouldn't that disable the app altogether from usage?
Whenever I turn on my screen, there's a Location Found notification appearing on my lockscreen. Any clue how I can disable that?

Is the location switch in the drop done menu on /
if yes, then turn it off and the issue should stop.
If no, then you need to find which app is asking for a location fix. It could be weather app.

Definitely want to keep location settings on. Curious how I could tell what app is prompting the notification though.

what apps do you have that rely on location ?
try disabling one by one till the notification does not appear.
Do you have a partner as I use this to see where my wife is using the android built in app, and when I do this comes up on her phone, so maybe someone is checking up on you?

I'm on a TMO S8 running 950U CRE2. I've noticed that I no longer get severe weather alerts. It happens in both 1Weather and WeatherBug. When I open the app the notification will appear but not until I open the app. Any ideas? Since it's happening in two different apps it's not app related. All other notifications seem to work.

Sounds like something is off with your location settings. Do those apps have permission to access your location?

I thought the same thing as initially I did not but set the location manually. I since have changed it to enable the app to use location info. But it didn't help. I'm wondering if it's a global location issue.

Figured it out. I had to include WeatherBug to the do not monitor list for power management.

I have a problem with the apps not going fullscreen when I enable that option in settings. The only way too have the apps in fullscreen is by enabling gestures. I'm using nova launcher but it's the same thing with Samsung launcher.

You need to go into settings /display / full screen apps and enable each one you want.
You need to take it off auto.
Already said that I've tried that and it doesn't work.

You said you enabled it in settings, that is vague as you can enable it in settings yet you still have to take it off of auto on each individual application.
It's working fine for you? I think I need to do a reset.

I did reset but still not working. Also edge lighting doesn't work. Maybe the phone is faulty? What can I do?
Went to a shop that was displaying the S10+ and tried to see if it's working but it's the same.
