There is no need to unlock the bootloader for j100h. You can install any ROM without any trouble. Go on.

Rooting is easy once you have TWRP or any other custom recovery installed. If you don't have TWRP installed, here are the steps.
Unlock OEM under developer options
Download and install Odin on your PC
Download and TWRP for your phone. Make sure it has .tar extension
Hold the power button + the home button + the volume down button until you see a warning screen
Press the volume up to enter into the download mode
Launch Odin
Connect your phone to your PC, if the connection was successful you will see and 'Added' message in Odin
Click the Ap tab and select the TWRP file and click start
Once done, a 'PASS' message will be shown and your device will automatically restart
Once on, turn it off then hold the power + home button + volume up till the Samsung logo appears and your phone will boot into the TWRP recovery mode. TWRP has been successfully installed.
Now to root your device. Turn your phone back on and download Magisk manager for your device.
Go into TWRP recovery mode and click install.
Locate to the Magisk zip file and swipe the slider to install. Tap reboot system.
Once your device is booted, you should see Magisk in the app drawer. Open it and you should be able to see some green checkmarks.
The last step is to select the “Tap to start SafetyNet Check” button. If you see two green checkmarks appear under the button, your device has passed the check.
Your device is successfully rooted

[Q] Boot loop after rooting my Galaxy note 4 N910F

Hello everyone,
I tried rooting my Note 4 using Chainfire's [SM-N910*] CF-Auto-Root :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-auto-root-t2897428/post55865442#post55865442
However after Odin finishes and shows "pass", the phone does not reboot in recovery mode nor shows the red android, it loops on the samsung logo and written in the top left corner of the screen 3 lines reading :
Recovery booting ...
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set warranty bit : recovery
I used the correct file for my phone, and now i cannot enter recovery mode, only download mode is accessible.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Flash stock firmware with odin and try again
The message is normal it comes up when you root your phone. Do you have a custom recovery installed?

I had a same problem but I found easy solution. If you have a bootloop install latest CWM recovery, open ODIN (I used newest version) and uncheck Auto Reboot, select CWM in AP and flash it, after that phone will stay still in Download mode. Then unplug usb from PC and remove battery for 5-7sec, give it back and turn phone on - your phone will boot into CWM recovery for sure ...then I flashed latest TWRP

I know what to do, I have been doing this all along but it goes into a mad boot loop. The Red Android doesn't pop up on screen either. I thought for a second I bricked my phone when it happened but luckily I was able to restore it. Any other suggestions??

It is in fact ... I did the root samsung in many of my friends ... always the same procedure with odin. But this does not load Note4 just the red robot and immediately goes into loop.I do not understand where it can be the error or incompatibility
Plz Help
Sorry for posting on this forum but i cant find any help on the N910H forum. Hi am having the exact same problem phone cant boot to download mode and not recovery. i tried to odin back to stock same problem, i tried twrp, philz and cwm recovery. it says pass in Odin but the phone wont reboot past the android logo and cant boot to recovery.Model number is SM-N910H
Had the same issue, fixed it however flashing CF auto root always results in a boot loop.
Is there any other way of rooting the note 4 without Odin?
At this point I realized that more than anyone has this problem of our loop in doing root on your Notes 4, now in addition to figure out if there is a solution to this problem, I would like to know if this problem is present on the Notes 4 with the same model, firmware updates etc. etc .... or this Note 4 that we are "bad"?
I successfully rooted my note 4 SM-N910F using this method.
Search zedomax note 4 root. It should be the first result.
Sorry I wasn't able to link the video I was not allowed to submit an external link until I have 10 posts.
My phone did this weird thing where it erased twrp so straight after passing in odin I took out the battery and entered twrp. From there it was easy. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem

You can flash a flashable SuperSU from chainfire's website using CWM or TWRP recovery.
But if you are on stock TW 5.1.1, you can't root it just yet, it will cause bootloop.
Flash stock 5.1.1 again to fix bootloop
i flashed again to the stock 5.1.1 and i still get stuck on Samsung Galaxy Logo i tried every thing wipe data and wipe cache and i remove battery for million time and i even rooted the phone and start but still freezing on galaxy logo and then Re download the latest Official Rom From sammobile and still Stuck on Galaxy logo the problem came to me when i install Twrp on my rooted note 4 and it's stucked on twrp so i downloaded the latest Rom and still get freeze on Galaxy Logo please help me :/
Same problem here. Flashed SM-N910F (International, Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f.zip but stuck in bootloop, all i get is the threeuk logo and the music. Tried with auto reboot on and off but with no luck.

If you're on 5.1.1 then you need a root capable kernel to be flashed too...

In what step do you manage to delete system? If you can enter download mode then there's hope. Just install TWRP on download mode and flash custom rom with TWRP.
Make sure the TWRP and rom match your phone hardware, either G935F/FD/W/V.
1. Enter download mode, volume down+power+home from off screen.
2. Flash TWRP with odin, untick restart.
3. Enter recovery mode, volume down+power+home then volume up+power+home as soon as screen blank.
4. Format /data in TWRP
5. Flash custom rom.
6. Wait and pray that it would start.

Can't flash twrp/Can't root?

Hello. I've been following every guide I can on flashing TWRP and rooting the Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T230NU, and none of them are working. Basically, Odin will flash the recovery, I'll prevent it from booting into Android by holding Power + Vol Up + Home, but what happens is I'll see a split second glimpse of the TWRP logo, but it goes black and reboots into android anyway. Can somebody give me an updated tutorial, possibly with the latest files, so I can flash TWRP & Root my Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T230NU?

Did you tried both with older TWRP. That method should still work and it is up-to-date because this tab is very old. I think I got TWRP for my device other way, can't remember any details but I've only used info from this forum and overall it was something like this:
1. Root with Kingoroot (might have been other weird onclick root thingy)
2. Somewhere in forum was a TWRP files that were able to be "installed" by just copying them in right folder (no idea where to get files or what the folder was and haven't done this way for any another device)

-Boot into "Download": POWER+VOL.DOWN+HOME

I have the Sm T230NU Nook version. I've attempted the flash following every last detail in the instructions. Odin always says "successful".
Have tried 5 different TWRP versions and several Odin versions and can never get it to boot into the TWRP recovery - it keeps going straight to the default Android recovery. I never even see a glimpse of the TWRP screen either. Any recommendations?

Help with Flashing Stock ROM - SM GALAXY S8

Hey everyone. First of all I'm sorry if I create this thread into a wrong category. I'm new in this forum, just here to ask for you guys's help.
My phone is stuck, or better saying it's at bootloop. I don't have a Sd Card, but an USB and a port to connect it with my Galaxy S8.
I don't think I will be able to flash a ROM with Odin so I decided to flash it with USB.
I'm currently downloading a 7z file.
My question is that does it matter if the ROM that I'll flash is a .ZIP file or 7z file ? Would it cause any more trouble because I really do not know if it can get any worse.
I hope somebody can help me clean this mess . All I did was remove the root from magisk and ta-daaa it got me a bootloop.
Thanks for helps from now.
Can you boot into Recovery Mode?
Power off your phone, than hold: Bixby + volume up + power on button until you see the recovery mode (up to 10 sec)

I can get into recovery mode, there's no problem in that. I downloaded a Rom but my phone didn't recognize the ROM since it was .7z file.
And I cannot flash with odin, I guess my phone's usb debug wasn't on before it got into loop.
Then why dont you just reflash/ reroot Magisk?
To flash files have be in Zip-format

Where do I get the file ?
//EDIT
Nevermind, I got it and flashed. You saved me, thank you for your help. I'd have never thought of rooting it back if you didn't help me right in time.

[solved!] Used ODIN to install twrp but phone won't boot into recovery at all

Problem solved! i was installing the wrong version of twrp this is the correct version: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j5xnlte/
I'm using SM-J510H
So I installed samsung drivers.
I even installed ADB and it's drivers (now i have samsung android in the device manager)
I downloaded TWRP for j53gxx:
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j53gxx/
The .tar for odin (twrp-3.4.0-0-j53gxx.img.tar)
I did the OEM unlock and debugging thing I even got the notification that the computer was trying to access blah blah I did allow always.
Put the phone in download mode (Down + Home + Power)
Press up to enter download mode.
Connect the phone.
Untick reboot in odin.
Use the ap to select the correct file
Start success!
I try to reload into recovery tried so many different ways even the adb command to reboot into recovery. All I get is a little thing on the top left saying warranty bit recovery and then the screen is black.
It doesn't load into the default recovery it just stays black. I need to take the battery to rest...
I tried with adb but when i force it to load up into download mode (adb reboot bootloader)
adb doesn't recognize the phone anymore
I've now downloaded the android ask maybe that will solve things lol but does anyone have any advice please?
Should I consider installing a different recovery? like maybe CWM?
It has a costume rom on i guess it says "Hebrew by daniel mouyal for bt" in the about tab in the settings...
I tried using ADB to install but when it's in download mod it can't find the phone so when i enter the install command:"fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img" it says: "waiting for device"
Well I've been installing the wrong version of twrp lol sry!
So just in case someone else hits the same problem it's not the twrp i posted before but this one:
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j5xnlte/
When recovery is finished flashing in Odin, remove your battery to turn the device off.
Then put the battery back in and press vol+ and power button and home button at the same time.
Your device should then boot into twrp.
If you reboot before doing this the android operating system will ovewrite twrp with stock recovery and you will have to start the process again
Also you used the wrong twrp. J53gxx is 2015 model j500h and j5xnlte is j510fn not j510h. You must be careful or else you may seriously damage your device.
Use this twrp here for your device j510h

Thank you for the response!
I managed to figure out the issue it was the wrong twrp version.. I can't update the title though
That's no problem.
What I would suggest though is to post how you fixed your issue in case anyone has problems in the future they can be referred to your thread here
