Is there a mod to install edge lighting notifications? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hey all .. As the the title says. The popup notification the OP5 has is just annoying, particularly when you watch videos or movies because it takes too much space. I tried the edge mask application, but its really bad. I was wondering if there was a magisk mod or anything we can install so we have this amazing notification pop up.
Note: I dont even care about the lightings and all. I just want that cool Samsung notification pop up

going crazy! (System UI) Notifications

Hey this question seems simple initially, but how do you disable SystemUI notifications? I'm talking about that grey notification that shows up on the lower part of your screen right over your keyboard. Whenever I start downloading something or quickly switch apps, it always seems to pop up and display some stupid arbitrary message. It's incredibly ANNOYING when you need to type something quickly and it's covering your keyboard. Does anyone know how to disable this? I've been using Android for over 5 years and I still haven't been able to figure this out lol.
I'm not sure if you're rooted or anything and I haven't tried it directly, but you can try the EnhancedToast Xposed Module. By description, it'll log the messages that display and then you can disable them as you see fit. Give it a look here EnhancedToast I hope this helps!

Edge lighting notification on whatsapp [No pop-up]

Hi everyone. I really looked deep into this but i can't figure it out how to make it work. Is there any way to have the edge lighting notification on whatsapp without the annoying pop-up that is the preview of the message? Seems like impossible!

A3 Always on Display Notification Colors?

Hello all!
I'm coming from a s5 mini and the one thing I was really sad to let go was the notification led. It's a great feature and I really miss it.
Always on display can do somewhat the same thing, but not that good. I often leave my phone on a table and walk around and I want to be able to just glance at my phone and see if I have any notifications. Yes, always on display shows notification, but it has a clock and 2 lines of text above them, making it harder to distinguish if you actually have notifications from some meters away.
I was thinking if I could change the color of notifications. The clock could stay white, but have a green notification for a miss call for example, that way the notification will pop out and catch your eye.
Also it would be perfect if I could assign different colors for different apps, that way it would act like the beloved notification led..
thats not possible for now but if it interests you heres and an apk that will make aod display notifications only , just install choose analog reboot and its done https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlNdpKNMp2XWkYY01k9kg3-Ax78rjg

thank you, thank you, thank you :good:
I just found this thread. That sounds exactly what I want - I dont want the AOD on all the time - just to give me notifications.
The link above is now dead - Any chance it could be made available again?
EDIT: Probably should add - would this work on an a5 2017 running Oreo?
after quite a lot of searching i found the original thread about it , just scroll down a little until you see downloads and select just notifications , but there are more greatt aod things there. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/root-customise-display-updated-t3688153
edit: doesnt work on oreo
Ok thanks. I have oreo. Doesn't seem to work.

Multiple images on lockscreen for S7 edge with Oreo.

Can someone please help me enable the 30 wallpapers on the lock screen please?
I had it enabled on Nougat, updated to Oreo and I knew there is no more possibility to add more than one image, but for some reason it still displayed those images like in nougat. Untill I resetted all the setting because the new edge lighting works for messages( really annoyed cause it doesnt work for whatsapp or facebook messeger, wait, any app besides default message app and i tought the setting got corupted)
I saw a post in witch if you use Nova, witch I am, can create an activity with "my interests" app and set the multiple images on the lockscreen. I dont quite know how to do it and I need someone to help me.
Can the classic night clock be added br 3rd party becaus im sure samsung just dropped the support on the phone after oreo..
I miss these 2 features, makes me want to go back to nougat or root and loose OTA.......witch isnt a big deal cause I dont think there will be any more major updates.
To use edge light on every app you must enable pop up notification in app and then edge light works, also with screen off

Thanks! I did that, but it still wont work, although I wont use it with screen off because of privacy issues.
I really like the video on lock screen, can convert gifs and make cool lock screen, but I still miss the old feature. :crying:

Is there Anything to get Edge Lighting to continue for notifications?

So I'm trying to get something where the Edge Lighting continues to activate instead of or with the notification light. Anything like this exist or is it pretty much, one spin round the edge and that's all you'll get? Surely by now there is something that keeps it going for notifications, right?

I would also like to know. At first I thought it would be a pretty cool feature, but I was disappointed that it goes on once and that's it. Would be nice to have it work continuously on a set interval, like the led notifications. Also would be even nicer if we could set it up to alternate colors according to the apps generating the notifications, like blue for FB messenger, yellow for SMS, white for missed calls and so on.

You can set different colors for apps, well at least in Edge lighting +

Thanks. But can you make it keep alternating the colors? So when you come back to pick up your phone you will know by the edge lighting that you have missed call, skype msg and sms, for instance? I have that with the led notification, using "Light Manager" app. But having that functionality on Edge Lighting would be better I guess.

Yeah.. I'm not trying to change the colors really. I'm trying to set it up so that it continues lighting up until you check the message or whatever, essentially replacing the notification light with edge lighting that continues to pulse for however long it takes to check it. If that makes sense
Sooooo I been digging around and I found something close to what I want. Not exactly what I'm after, but a lot closer than edge lighting (+)...

Yeaaahhh. I'm still working on getting it to operate the way I want, but I think this is the closest we're going to find. If you mess with the settings and get it close, feel free to share the settings.

I wasn't replying to you. My answer was for Gamekill who asked for per app color setting.

Edge Lighting Notification App setup steps
Edge Lighting Notification App setup steps
- this app works on a S9+ running Pie 9.0
- both google messages notifs and aquamail notifs will now light the edge with both the screen off and on
- so i thought i would share the setup steps that worked on S9+ Pie
- note the steps marked ** are critical
- eln = edge lighting notification app (the app costs $1.99)
setup steps (Pie 9.0) that worked for me
================================
- it best to execute this sequence in order
- install app
- **apps, 3 dots, special access, notification access, eln, on
- display, edge screen, edge lighting, on
- display, edge screen, edge lighting, show edge lighting, always
- display, edge screen, edge lighting, edge lighting style, multi-color (whatever you like)
- display, edge screen, edge lighting, edge lighting interaction, off
- display, edge screen, edge lighting, manage notifs, edge lighting notification (just this one needs to be enabled)
- eln app, apps, +, messages, aquamail (enable apps that you want edge lighting to activate when they receive a notif)
- notif, see all, all, messages, show notifs, on
- notif, see all, all, aquamail, show notifs, on
- **restart your phone
- **send a text msg to yourself (the edge will not light up yet)
- notif, see all, all, eln, show, on
- notif, see all, all, eln, eln Channel, on (this will not show up until eln sends one notif)
- **notif, see all, all, eln, eln channel, notif style, sound and popup (the popup part is important)
(this will not show up until eln sees a text msg or email)
- now edge lighting will work when the screen is off or on for both txt msgs and emails
