I believe the camera quality with this phone is amazing for the price
The quality is nice!
But all of my other phones had a wider angle (Galaxy S5, Nokia 5). That's why I don't like it so much.
It's unusual for me but it isn't a big problem for me
But anyway - the camera quality is awesome for the price of the phone!
In my eyes the quality of the front camera is at best average. Even my 2 years old Moto G4 which was almost the same price made higher quality selfies.
It's dated and pretty much average, according to the specs; much like my old J5, minus the front flash (but this phone doesn't focus much on 'selfie' feature, is it?). It takes nice picture though.
But I really don't use front camera to take pictures, I use it for testing remote controls, which it comes handy.
Boy, I feel like using a flip phone while taking selfies with this phone. If lighting is great then sometimes it gives me a usable selfie. But in 9/10 use cases, the photo is blurry, without detail and unusable, especially if you have shaky hands.

Great selfie quality.. 24mp shooter performing well... And booked effect and blur quality on edges is great and way better that honor 9..
24MP cam is showing its presence while taking selfies.
If you like portrait mode, you'll love the Honor 10. The selfie camera takes really impressive photos and the portrait mode is really good.

Rated average. This is for the stock app - using GCam selfies are actually very good.

The Miui Camera is excellent.
Personally I like it better than the pixel port camera. Especially for video.
Note: the camera improves dramatically when the phone is fully updated, I use the global EU beta version.
Sent from my Xiaomi MI 8 using XDA Labs
i don't agree, video stabilization in 10.3.1 sucks
This thread is for the quality of SELFIES and there the stock app really sucks. Gcam is so much superior for the front cam that it's not funny anymore. And this is also not a question of taste but a simple fact. And while image quality has become much better with the back cam in the last Betas the front still leaves much to desire.
Add to that the missing front Flash with the stock app.

I've recently purchased this device and must say quality of selfie is much better but just i found a small glitch on portrait mode.
When you zoom the picture so you will be able to see some pixlate at the corner on face.
But it's acceptable and can't get understand when you see first time.

One of the best front shooters out there. Plenty of fine detail and no default beautifying crap. Looks great
it could be better because in the viewfinder selfie image seems to be very sharp and crisp but when you take the picture after procesing it loses some details it becomes a bit softer but not a big deal
I don't think the front camera is up to the mark.

The front camera is really sharp and is also making skin so soft. Not at all natural. Even with the face beauty turned off.
The Front Camera is nothing to brag for it is certainly not the best but can't even compete with some of the descent midrangers the camera hardware itself seems to be good but the software is worse, the software processing makes skin unusually smooth thus removing details also low light performance is bad. In good lighting conditions the portrait does the job.
