So Tab S4 can make phone calls like a Note 9 ? As i'm planning on purchasing TAB S4 but only if it can make calls ? As im planning on making my daily driver!

My calls are crisp. I have had my tabs4 in the keyboard cover since day one. I had the cover before I had the tablet. When I first made a call there was a piece of tape all around where the speakers and Mic were on the keyboard cover. The other party was saying just what you said, "Huh", "what". I saw the tape and took it off. After that all calls have been great, 3.5mm Headset, or speaker. I've had a lot of compliments on voice quality since then. I can't wait until I get my free bluetooth headset from samsung from the note9 preorder..

Does the SM-T835 model tablet have an actual, real phone feature (the dialer app -> send/receive calls) present, or are you using VoIP? I ask because some devices have the LTE radio for data only but do not have an actual phone in itself -- and I'd like to ditch my Note 8 altogether (as the screen is too small for me) if it does, since I use a wired/wireless combo headset anyway.
Thanks!

An actual regular phone with call recording and all! No VOIP. Buy the Korean Version on ebay from worlddigital2000 with 6gb of ram. I can't say enough how impressed I am with this tablet. It's making my 16gb computer seem slow now.

The UK 4g version, can that be used as a phone to receive SMS messages and make/receive calls?

does it have earpiece like phone?

I have a t mobile sm t837t can it be used to make calls

I rated it "bad" even though I can understand what people are saying. The issue I have is that receiving audio volume fades in and out. Sometimes I hear the other party crystal clear, and other times it seems muffled. It just seems to float back and forth throughout the call. This happens on every call, to both land lines and cell phones.

Yes, coming from a HTC U Ultra, I can definitely understand what you're talking about... Sometimes I wonder if it's worse than the first Mi Mix, I had that a couple months ago. The first Mi Mix was very bad and I was really hoping that the second generation of the device would solve the handset issue. However, it turns out that they've barely done much.... I personally absolutely hate this phone only for this one reason which kind of sucks if I'm being honest. I just bought the White/Special Edition which is super sick and looks beautiful! But but, what good is a phone if it doesn't do its job..... I've started to use Bluetooth Headphones for calls and it works rather well. So if you're always looking for another option I'd recommend using Bluetooth Headphones... You can easily remove then and put them to side and then use them whenever you see fit.

I'm lot younger than granny but I use a lot "Huh?! Wut?!" when I'm using Nokia 7 plus. Hopefully I'll manage to sell it without losing to much on it because main phone feature is not good enough. Earpiece sound quality isn't that good. Not clear enough especially when on other side is male voice.
If I speak to others with my speaker turned on, the people opposite is complaining about lot of others noises during , any with same issue ?

Just been on the phone to my gf, the neighbour started drilling the wall nextdoor which was incredibility loud in the room I was on the phone in, I asked her if she could hear it and she said no, even to the point I could hardly hear anything other than the drill she could only hear me, I put her on loud speaker / hands free and she could instantly hear the drill, back on normal earpiece speaker and she could not hear it any more, must be some good noise cancellation going on for normal calls

Any update on call quality?
I don't like the call quality on this phone, everyone is saying they are hearing voice as of I was drowning or something
Also, when I hold the phone on my left ear the mic just stop recognizing my voice and all I hear from people is "huh?" "What?" "Hello?" "Are you there?", Once I put it back on my right ear then I can continue the conversation
I'm not sure if it's an antenna or mic issue
Same here
Not good Noise cancellation
For anyone checking here, be aware that the phone does NOT support VoLTE on any US carrier. If you're out somewhere and you don't have 3G coverage with your provider, the call quality is literally 0%.
avrage
I think microphone of this phone is poor literally need to take phones mic near my mouth and need to scream

My first call sucked. Ugh!
Sound from speakers is acceptable. Except for the first call. The people of earth were right
It is a bit of a shock when you make your first call, the under the screen speaker certainly has taken the edge off HD calling, it sounds muffed (unsurprisingly) and gone is the feeling of the other other person in the call is sat in your head, it is definitely a step backwards in terms of call quality.
My first call was like..."uhhh, what's wrong, is my speaker broken?"

Yep, I just had my 3rd call. Longer duration and indoors this time. It was better than the first two calls but still really not very good. Probably can live with it. LoL
Yeah, they clearly want us to buy Pixel Buds. They had better put them on a serious Black Friday sale though. I am not paying anything close to $179.

Hahahaha. Good theory.
Microphone Issue.
After few calls, receivers are net hearing me (whatsapp and gsm call). It works better when I activate loudspeaker or with hands free kit.
I sent back device to warranty. waiting for their diagnosis...
On speaker phone yes quite often they say what say again
My end it's fine, as the sound comes.out of the bottom speaker

When I'm at work and receive a call the person on the other end says I sound like I'm under water talking. Happened twice in the last week. I work in a metal building but have very good service. Right next to a tower. Phone works fine anywhere but work. Anyone else have this experience from inside a metal building? Not sure anything can be done about it.

If I was a frequent user of making and receiving calls, I would have no option but to send my P5 back, luckily I don't use this option that often.
I cannot believe that the Google Quality Control people signed this part of the phone off. I honestly cannot remember ever owning a mobile phone with such rubbish call quality. If I'm honest, same applies to the speakers.
I get what you mean about that first call, very strange experience to what I'm used to but I do often have a headset on. I did sound clear at the other end though
After a month i got used to it
You also need your ear a lot further down the phone than we are all used to, that makes a difference taking a call on the Pixel 5.
Coming from a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 with the speaker under the screen, I can say that the pixel's 5 call sound quality is not acceptable at all. Samsung's call quality was crystal clear. Pixel's call quality is bad in most phone calls
