It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Honor Note 10 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
The battery is great after 2 days still 49% and Sreen on 5 hours 38 minutes
Update:
I think you can leave that after almost 3 days

No Problems with the Chinese Rom.All Languages on it and the most China Apps can uninstall or deactivate. The Phone works fine,i am very happy with it.And there is no differenz without Lte Band 20 and H+ Internet Speed. With my wifes Phone with Band 20 is 18 Mbps und the Note 10 15 Mbps with same Network and same Tarif.

Oh so it doesn't support lte in europe?
Okay that's unfortunately a deal breaker for me. So the mi max 3 will probably be my choice

It will work in Europe with Lte,only Lte Band 20 (800MHz) is not on Board. On that Regions use Hspa.In all cities Lte works without problems with Band 3 and 7.

okay good to know. Thank you for the info!
i'm still not sure whether lack of band 20 is deal breaker for me. I live in a small city and B20 is very probably what's used here.
it's weird that the cheaper Max 3 has it and this beast doesn't
How are you satisfied in general? with camera and battery life? is the super night mode available on it? (the one that was advertised with p20 pro, if you know what i mean)

Hi,
Have the phone for some days now.
Love it and I think that everything about it is simply amazing... Except one thing : battery life.
The stand by drain is stellar. 100% after 6 hours. Can't be better. And that with Display always on turned on !!!
But as soon as display is active and some slightly more demanding apps are running, battery is melting like snowflakes in summer in Florida !
I'd say under these circumstances SoT will be about 9 or 10 hours... Which is what I'd expect from a 4k or 4k2 battery but not a 5000mAh...
It's not bad really, just a little disappointing ???
EDIT : I confirm that battery life is a real disappointment ! I think with medium use you can't get more than 7/8 hours SoT...
This is to be expected from a phone with 4k mAh battery but I hoped for at least 11 hours from a phone with 5k mAh battery
I guess this will not stay and will be replaced with something else probably a Xiaomi mi max 3 : less performance but people reporting up to 17 hours SoT !
And at least some development and living forum... This seems simply dead

I thought I am the only one with this issue...With auto brightness turned on, it's showing that the estimated battery life left is 2 days 20 hours left after a full charge...Also it's taking like 5+ hours to charge the battery to 100% using the stock charger & cable...I saw battery charging tests on YT & I saw people easily managing to fully charge it in about 1:50 hours so I don't know wth is happening in my handset...Mine is completely new, just a few days old...Can be a firmware issue too...I will wait for the next firmware update & see...
Hi,
Good luck...
As far as I am concerned, I have given up the Honor Note 10. Here are the reasons why :
- zero support from manufacturer... a firmware update every 3 months, but probably none anymore after the third or fourth update ;
- Honor's stupid policy about not allowing to unlock the phone ;
- the result : zero developer interest for this device ;
- dead XDA forum (last post except yours was like 52 hours ago) ;
- people in this channel only supporting EMUI and discouraging any attempt to install anything else on the device...
So I switched to the XCiaomi mi Max 3.
Of course, not the same powerhorse as it only has SD 636, but that is enough for my needs...
And easily unlocked ; Xiaomi releasing a new ROM (beta or stable) every week/month ; devs working to port LAOS to it ; nice people in the XDA forum...
So despite this all, if anyone is interested in buying a Honor Note 10 8/128, I'm selling it
Regards.

Make sure you do a factory reset & set the Pie from Scratch like a new phone...If you have installed it over Oreo without a factory reset, the performance may not be that smooth as some left-over files from Oreo may slow-down your system...Doing a factory reset will improve your battery run time...Mine did...
Before making factory reset, don't forget to do a full system backup using HiSuite...

I got the Supercharger in the box when I imported it from China but because of some Firmware issues, I was not getting the Supercharging speed...At first I thought maybe the charger is bad or slow but then I checked it & it was indeed a Supercharger with 5A...Then I thought maybe my Type C cable is bad...I kept trying & trying but was not being able to get SuperCharging out of it...I was also about the buy a spare SuperCharger but the last official 165 Oreo FW solved my issue automatically...Now my stock charger also completes the charge within 2 hours...And shows SuperCharging always, when I plug my phone to the stock charger...
Using the Ampere app from Playstore, I checked the charging amp & it still varies between 2800-3300 Amp though...I may buy the Spare SuperCharger later just to check if I can get 4000-4500+ Amp charging speed which atleast I should be getting from a 5A charger but since the current charger is doing it's job under 2 hours, I am not much bothered about buying another charger...Maybe later...

Hi all
I noticed that the battery runs out quickly.
It holds only 12 hours in normal use.
While I was at 48 hours with my Huawei mate 8
Is there a solution to this problem?
I have attached the phone version if it can help.
Wait bro, your firmware version is outdated, latest Lollipop firmware is 2.20.40.184, but yours is still running 2.20.40.90, update your firmware first then compare your battery stats from your previous firmware version.
How long is your SoT(Screen on Time)? Well, on a daily usage my Zenfone 2 lasts for up to 6hrs SoT(with wifi browsing, some gaming, 2g/3g texting including standby for almost 12hrs as well) so i think your experiencing average for this kind of handset.
Also note that you've posted on a wrong section, this thread should be posted on the "Q&A, Help, Troubleshooting section".
This phone generally has **** battery life for majority of people, there are every few people who see any decent battery life (like above). There are no solutions for good battery life for this phone.

I wouldn't recommend somebody (even less a new XDA user) to flash a beta firmware. Only the user itself should decide if he /she really wants to try beta software.

Comparing this phone's battery to a Huawei battery is like comparing a Prius to a Tesla. I can go 3 days on my Huawei Ascend Mate 2 but it's a 4000mAh battery and a Snapdragon chip compared to a 3000mAh battery and an Intel chip. The ZF2 battery will never get better unfortunately
I was getting some serious battery drainage on stock rom - I upgraded to the CM13 ROM with Android 6.0.1 - Set it on Root and installed Greenify + Xposed Framework - Smart Booster - Battery Doctor - Configured them all and keep my brightness on low when in doors and automatic when outside. My battery seems to be holding much better now. I haven't used that Stock rom Beta release of 6.0.1 yet so I'm not sure if that'll help. Good luck!
P.S - I only installed the mini version of GApps.

Disable touch gestures, the ones that let's you double tap to wake it up, I disabled mine and during the night, with wifi on, it only used 1% battery.
Also, disabling LED notifications would help.
To replace the double tap to lock screen I use Greenify's widget, need to find a way to let me wake it up by volume buttons too.
Any other battery saving tips would be great.

zenfone 2 is best for performance lag free most of the time .....but battery life sucks.... and about that ferrari and prius thing... my friends sony xperia z series especialy z ultra has awesome battery life it is also quad core processor phone ...it is also a beast phone ...but there stamina mode saves a lot of battery ... 8 to 10 hr SOT is normal for z ultra..... so clearly power managment is very poor for zenfone 2. i am using marshmellow cm 13 .. greenify... .. overnight drop is 3 to 4 %... but as soon as i start using it battery starts to drain quickly..... i have searched whole xda forum.. but everybody is talking about wakelocks, thats fine but during actual use also it is consuming a lot of battery....i am tired of searching
Hi all,
I just come with this Screenshots to know your opinion on the consumption of my s5. Honestly Im jealous of those people getting 4,5hours of SOT in a full charge. I believe I can barely achieve 2h. My phone is rooted, de bloated with smart debloater and uses Greenify (which has not provided me a noticeable gain).
I've seen a very big drain just after plugging off the phone (like 5 or 6%) in two hours without using it. Also everything I unlock the phone the drain is very fast. So idle state seems no to be the cause
What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
By the way, while writing this post I've lost 5% of charge.

Need a new battery I think and with the battery you gotta keep it cool, don't charge you phone and use it when its under 20 ℅. And the hotter the battery gets the faster it will discharge and if your charging at the same time the CPU will work harder to charge the battery and do whatever you want to do with your phone making it a double whammy wearing out your battery much faster than normal. You not supposed to let our batteries to go below 20 %. Well you can but don't use it at the same time your charging.

Thank you very much for your information. Any suggestion about a new battery? I've seen this one.
I've just plugged off from 100% and I got a battery drain of 5% just by speaking 15 minutes (no hand-free). I think it's a very big battery drain for just a small talk. I think that confirm your hypothesis of the wasted battery.
Is there any way to know the real capacity of the battery I currently have? It is just to know how far it is from its original performance.
I've checked on Go Power Master app and it claims 2520 (at 90%) mah in my battery. Is this confident? If so, I shouldn't expect a big improvement buying a new battery. What about using other roms or making a factory reset?.

How old is your battery? Mah rating and the rate it discharges are different you can discharge 2600 mah batter in an hour or 3 days depending on use and environment and conditions. Like I said before the hotter your battery gets the faster the disharge go same with the cpu the hotter it gets the more power it demands from the battery. And if your battery get under 20% fast charging comes. Into play as well which is bad for the battery as well.
If your dropping off that fast I think is a defective battery or over clocked cpu settings. My s5 did he same till I bought a new battery I last 8-12 hours of heavy use now compared to 4 hours. With a new battery I suggest a higher capacity but same dimensions as the old one they can be expensive but a bigger battery will damage your phone over time.
I have a 5600mah battery now by 5he way.

Oh that battery looks OK I can't read the language lol just make sure its not refurbished or used and check out if u can refund it or not lol
My battery is from October 2015. It's the original one that came with the phone
Here is last report:
Despite performance is not the worst, do you think the difference with a new one is very big?
Back in my S3 Mini days I had to change the battery and the difference was huge for it. A year ago I replaced my S5's battery for the first time (I own my black beauty since february 2015) and I remember that I saw an improvement in battery life and in performance a bit as well.
A trick: take out your battery and put it on a flat surface (table or whatever) and try to spin it. If it spins freely, buy new one for sure.
I'd advise you to also update from KitKat to Marshmallow as that made my phone brand new but I see you're on 6.0.1 already so nevermind
I myself lose the first ~10% of my charge in one hour or even less...while not doing literally anything with my screen off. So yeah, maybe it's gonna be time for another replacement in a few months
By the way I tried Greenify today. The drain was far worse than when I didn't have it installed lol. Android Marshmallow is finally that one guy who's capable of handling himself alone without helpers like Greenify so try without it, it eats up your CPU anyway (as minimal as it can be, it still does).
With 3G always enabled I can get between 3 and 4 hours of screen on time (no games ofcourse) and around, idk, 10 hours total time until it hits below 10% and asks for some juice.
This^ was simply impossible with android 4.4.2 on the same phone so 6.0.1 really impressed me a lot as I had awful memories of Lollipop (that's why I didn't update for so long actually).
To sum up: try all the software ways of extending your battery life - with/without Greenify, uninstall/disable/optimise certain apps like Facebook and Spotify (says they slow down my phone), change ROMs, change kernels, change settings and if nothing works get a new battery.
PS: When Samsung go back on track and put a removable battery + all old features in a new flagship, I'm switching to that (S9, S10, SX, whatever xd). Newer phones got water cooling (~30 degrees while gaming, S5 gets 36-40C).
Thank you very much for your long answer. Honestly I don't trust too much battery savers. I've tried in the past many of them with no visible results. In fact greenify has never shown me any benefit. Notwithstanding, in this specific case, I've seen that hibernating "mi fit" (from xiaomi) I can appreciate a considerable improvement (5-10% of gain). I own a mi band and apart from keeping Bluetooth on (which seems not to be a big drainer) mi fit abuses of this connection. In fact "tools & mi band" seems to be more energy efficient with the connection to the mi band.
In any case I'll order a new one as it is not normal to have the drain for 100 to 90 being off and idle
I've changed old battery for a new one and I haven't seen any considerable improvement. After it, I've done a factory reset and a battery calibration (using the app on the store that requires root) and nothing... Any suggestion? I have the feeling that new battery is OK but somehow my phone is unable to take advantage of its performance...

If it gets fixed after firmware reinstall then it's a software bug. If it gets fixed after changing the battery then it's a hardware bug. If it doesn't get fixed after trying both things then it's black magic :s
Also try to clear dalvik-cache and cache and do factory reset before and after flashing.

OK I'll go ahead with this. Good guide to reflash stock rom?
I'll do several factory resets to see if it helps, but I start to think that it's black magic
Thanks
Sorry for the delay in replaying but I've made several attempts with not specially good results.
Now I'm getting 24 hours battery with 2h SOC for WhatsApp and browsing. Furthermore, I use Bluetooth for the miband.
The battery drop from 100 to 90 still remains. Maybe it's smoother but significant.
I've changed battery, changed roms (several times wiping everything). I've tried battery calibration app from rooted devices. I've tried the calibration procedure for non root devices (here I think I've obtained a little bit of improvement) but in general I have the feeling my phone is not detecting well the capacity of the battery (either new or old). Any tip? Advice?. Could it be the charging circuit? Can it be fixed? Should I keep doing calibrations more often to see if I grasp more capacity little by little?
Thanks for your time and help
Idk about you guys but i suspect that newer android OS versions affect battery life on older devices on purpose . I noticed that after oct update , after pixel 2 was released !
In the last 3 days my phone when is close to 15% it close itself and after i try to reoppen the phone battery is at 1% . i tried to recalibrate the battery but i have the same problem , to see if that´s true (that i have only 1%) i made 4 back-ups in TWRP (around 327 sec/backup) and my phone is still on ! wtf?
Wrong!

In the last 3 days my phone when is close to 15% it close itself and after i try to reoppen the phone battery is at 1% . i tried to recalibrate the battery but i have the same problem , to see if that´s true (that i have only 1%) i made 4 back-ups in TWRP (around 327 sec/backup) and my phone is still on ! wtf?

It's called a bad battery
You should have read one of the dozens of battery threads here before posting, and you'd realize just how ridiculous your conspiracy theory is. Doubt it? Test it first, then buy a replacement battery.
Yah I agree, it's all about the Crappy battery they saddled us with. I'm getting reading to send this in for credit against my new pixel 2xl. I started having battery issues about 3 weeks ago and as of today I show 57% capacity on accubattery...

Don't blame you at all. If/when my battery goes South, I will probably uupgrade rather than cracking it open... but we have 3 and so far all is good. Accubattery shows North of 90% for all 3 of them. Mine is 95%. Was looking at a Pixel XL (1) ... bang for the buck, but until one of these dies we are all happy.

If it's not your battery, then using the app called battery calibration should help you. But if it is, get some one to help you out a new battery in it. It's works liked new for me.
To avoid early batterie break it's everywhere recommended to charge not up to 100% and also not discharge low to 0%.
1. I've used some years battery charging limit:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slash.batterychargelimit
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/root-battery-charge-limit-t3557002
But I can't get it work on mi9
2. Now I'm using ACCA
https://github.com/MatteCarra/AccA
It's working with power supply but it don't work with wireless charging. Is there someone who knows a solution ?
Please post here all apps which are able to start stop charging at adjustable levels.
3. Thread is also open now for tips and tricks for low draining ROMs and mods like lkt, fde.ai,kernel optimization.
Here you'll find the statement for my actually installed ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80213469&postcount=13
I use Battery Charge Limit, It works fine (stopping at 75% both in wired and wireless charging). Version 1.1.1

Hi
Here in this thread we're discussing how to extend battery life with charging settings not for the daily usage time.
But if your rooted like my mi9 transparent with revolution os you can freeze some miui apps and and other bloadware and you can make fine adjustings in build.prop
I didn't like battery saver apps. Only one for me is good : leandroid apk
In the moment I've got only 3% discharge over night. And SOT around 7 hours (not completely tested in case of only 3 days usage of revolution mod)
My free RAM is around 5.3 GB
I'm using automatic brightness mod v4
Have a look here:

Use auto brightness but you may have to push it up at times to get it to a level of your liking or I do.
I use mine hard and get great life. But it depends on which ROM you have and what update you have installed as they had issues with a few as I did myself.
I have EU global stable 10.2.28.0
I get 17hrs with 9hrs being SOT before I charge normally.
I can get over 11hrs straight SOT.
I've gotten 31hrs with 6hrs 23min SOT.
I consider that excellent especially for how I use mine doing a lot of videos and watch a lot of YouTube as well as movies with it

I have stock, I have not changed what the factory provided. Just going off there updates but I was about to and I will in the future. But it automatically kills your warranty so I didn't do it yet not that it really matters.
But I have WiFi connected at the house along with LTE not 4g which they are pretty much the same.
But it says LTE.
It's the first time I ever heard I shouldn't charge my phone to 100%. Can someone direct me to an explanation for this? (I knew already about not letting it go to 0%)

ROM with adjustable charging percentage
Hi guys
I'm now on Syberia 2.8 with evira kernel and lkt and its nearly perfect for me.
The best is that already a charging controller is implemented and the battery is also low stressed in case of a good power management. Over night around 2% discharge and SOT around 7 hours (mixed usage in dark and sun with velis autobrightness)
Only AI button and directly unlock by fingerprint isn't implemented at the moment.
But there is a flip to mute ringtone, call recording, long screenshot, full gesture control with back on swipe from right and or left side..... And much more....

Actually not, unlocking the bootloader or even rooting does not kill the warranty according to Xiaomi's policy . One of the few companies that allow it.

Not anymore, better read up on there policies. Also when you do that you loose your updates. You will no longer be eligible for factory updates but I know that really shouldn't matter because you can do it yourself at that point.

Post your Battery usage here. Lets see what we get with these new devices.
Is Bad battery...
Can't say I'm very impressed so far, I switched from a snapdragon s10 plus. Stand by battery drain was never a problem on the s10. I would finish the day with at least 50% battery left. Less than 3 hours screen time and I'm at 40%. And that's running at 60 fps, 1080p. Snapdragon was so much more efficient for me.

So far, not too impressed either, getting 5.5 hours of screen on time, with no video watching or gaming. Literally bit of instagram, whatsapp, messenger, camera and spotify. This is at 120hz FHD+.
This will honestly be my my ''normal usage'' but still having removed it from charge at 9.30am and after 12 hours on 20% is a bit sad to some point, specially after those youtube videos with 6.5 hours of screen on time playing games and and filming videos and what not... Hopefully they will get a fix for it, this is UK version with the (not so lovely) Exynos...
Coming from an LG G6 lets say battery wise Im having same performance
For me 6 hours with 120hz, that literally destroys the battery, switching back to 60hz you get 1 - 2 hours more....watching youtube is no issue, but as soon as you get to any scrolling or
multitasking it all goes away.. especially with that 120hz, also it's not very efficient in standby, you can go to sleep with 100 percent and wake up with 93 or something like that..
Hopefully they'll get an update
Not awesome battery life, if I wasn't careful I need to charge twice a day
50% left, 2h33 min screen on. I disconnected charger at 12am, woke up at 7am. Lost 5% during the night with 4g on. I was playing a lot today. Screen at 120hz
It's so unbelievable bad... Damn :/
I'm glad i.ordered the Snapdragon version
This is always the case when buying Samsung flagships early. An update comes out a few months after to address the issue.
Hmm, I have to agree with you. Upon further use, I don't think stand by drain is the issue. It seems to be more app optimisation. Have to give it some time for developers to optimise their apps for this processor.

Don't get me wrong I totally agree with you. There is even speculation that exynos doesn't get the same Sony sensors for the camera. Instead we get Samsung made one's. Totally not cool for sure. I imported a snapdragon s10 last year and it was amazing for battery life profomance. But honestly, I can fully charge this phone in just over an hour. So to say that the shorter battery life is a major problem is just not true imo.

Where did you get your Snapdragon S10 from? I think I'll order from Amazon.com
Which country are you from? Did the Snapdragon work perfectly with your carrier and 4G?

In Australia. Had the china s10 I believe. Everything worked just fine. Although I believe things are a little more complicated when it comes to 5g.

Unless one is next to the wall everyday or likes carrying a power bank that personally I hate, it certainly is a problem.

I understand, but I haven't come even close to needing to charge the phone during the day yet. I'd say I'm losing about 10 to 15% more battery then I did on the s10 so all good for now.

Yes, "usage pattern". I'm charging twice a day with the +, something that I did years back..
This is the only complaint i have so far, battery life. It is not disturbingly awful, but I usually have to charge it in the late afternoon, so I dont run out of juice in the evening (I am getting 3.5 - 4 hours of screen time). Situation is even less annoying since It charges really fast. I am running optimised battery plan, bluetooth, wifi, data on. Other than that it is a beast, I am fully enjoying android freedom over my iphone X. Battery will probably improve with updates though.
First and first full charge, 120hz all time. Let's see next days.
