Just flash with Mi Flash Tool that rom, be sure your Bootloader is unlocked.
Also chek what option you are chosing in mi flash tool, here is link of flash tool

At ur own risk
It will repartitioning ur device and wipe out everything

If You have a Nandroid backup from a older Rom You can restore it, no problems. I think the problems are whit Odin only.
If you flash a Customer Rom like Omega MI7 by recovery, work well also. We have a example already.
The bootloader continue MJ3.
Hi, I'm currently using Alliance rom with firmware ang2. Was just wondering if it's safe to flash an updated firmware like ang9 for G900f device. Thanks

If you want to remove root:
- Use Triangle Away to reset the binaries and system status to official
- Unroot from within the superSU app
- Flash the rom with Odin
- Data factory reset
If you want to keep root:
Use Mobile Odin Pro to flash the new rom and keep root. Check inject superSU, Everroot and the other option. After it reboots do a data factory reset (root will stick btw).

No it's not safe nor recommended. If you had done a search you'd find dozens of threads asking and answering this question in existing threads. Accepting an OTA update is likely to break root and sundry custom ROM features.
You should refer to the custom ROM support thread where the developer will either tailor updates for your ROM. Or at least power users will discuss their effect on the ROM and how to best apply an update to your particular ROM.

Hi there,
just got my hands on this international Note 3 and looking to root it and install a custom rom. I think I got all the information and softwares on how to root and flash custom recovery. but I'm just not sure if I need to upgrade my bootloader before flashing a custom rom? I don't even know what bootloader i'm on. but I do know that I'm still on 4.3 stock.
please let me know of anything that I need to do before flashing a custom rom.
thanks so much!

ok thank you!
I tried using kies to upgrade to 4.4 as i figured that would be the easiest way, but keep getting an error, so I do need to flash stock using odin. but I'm so confused as to which one to download. right now when I fire up kies, it shows this:
current firmware version: PDA:MJ7 /PHONE:MJ7 /CSC:MJ6 (ZTO)
Latest firmware version: PDA:NG3 / PHONE:NG2 / CSC:NG3 (ZTO)
can someone let me know which firmware I need to download from sammobile.com?
thanks so much.
oh please disregard. I didn't know sammobile.com had a place where we can search by country, etc. it's really cool. so I found what I needed.
thank you.
I was able to do an OTA update, so now I'm on kitkat 4.4; so my question is, now do I need to do anything for preparation in order to root?
thanks.
nothing to do
flash cf auto root and you re done...
thank you! you guys are great!
Dear All,
If I want to flash any custom ROM do I need to unlock the Bootloader, or flashing TWRP Recovery through Odin will be enough to flash any custom ROM. The Model of the device is GT-I9505.
Thanks.

Only Verizon and AT&T models have locked bootloaders.
If your device is none of the above you should be fine with just flashing recovery through Odin.
Thanks dear.
