I don't know if it's only on my HTC U Ultra (SEA Dual sim version) but this issue drives me crazy. You can't aim in games properly. Does anyone else have this problem. I beleive that it can be fixed since Xperia XZ2 phones had the same problem and sony fixed them with an update. I hope one of the custom kernel developers for this phone notices the issue and fix it.
Here's a video that I recorded for example.
https://youtu.be/_gEF6ksmJTc
Edit.
It seems that it's caused by the glass protector.
Edit 2.
It's not from the protector.
Is it a consistent issue or does it just occur when the phone is hot? I had a similar issue with an old xperia, and that was due to it getting hot, so had to increase the thermal throttling parameters, but even then it only put off the issue for a short time while playing games. Ended up getting a new phone.....
It's even present in the TWRP recovery. I think that it's from the driver.
It's still not solved by anyone
Maybe your phone have hardware problem. I don't have any problem like this.
Do you have a single or a dual sim model?

Is it similar to the problem that is fixed by this HTC patch ?

If it is, be warned that this patch fixes the freeze problem, but it adds an even bigger bug (phone calls gets blank for a few seconds sometimes).
No, it's no freeze issue. Actually i think it's a problem that exists with every HD device.. If you compare teeter with iphones labyrinth game you will se that HD's screen is more choppy and laggy.
Bump
Its quite hard to notice the lag but just compare the iphone against it and ull see. I think many would like a fix for this if there were any available

Wow...now that you mention this, i have this problem since i've installed this fix a few days ago.
It takes some time until i'm getting the call.
Okay so noone else but me is interested in a fix for this? I thought many would like the fix to happen
i am interested.. my screen stutters / tears at times too.. for example scrolling fast thru my icons in Program.
overall phone not very responsive.. kinda like a low mem windows xp pc kind of feel..
I am not sure how many owners of the SM-G730A are mobile gamers at all, but maybe some of you have noticed this...
Since the update to Android KitKat 4.4.2 the touchscreen behaves erratically in certain games, primarily FPS shooters. I know it is not an issue with my particular device, goto Google Play and look up Dead Trigger 2. View the reviews for this device model only, you will see numerous complaints beginning after the date the OTA was released (8/27/14) complaining about the touchscreen controls.
I have downloaded the kernel source code from Samsung for both 4.2.2 and 4.4.2. Upon examining the kernel source, the Atmel touchscreen driver has been updated in 4.4.2. I believe this to be what is causing the problem. I am not sure if it is configured incorrectly or if it is just a poor driver. The Jelly Bean driver gave NO issues what so ever. I would revert back to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean if I could. I also compiled a kernel for KitKat which includes the Jelly Bean Atmel driver, however due to the locked bootloader, it does me no good.
What happens is this, you will have two fingers on the screen. Suddenly it is as though you lifted one, even if you are still touching the screen. Touches are erratic for a few seconds after this happens, then touch returns to normal temporarily until it happens again (usually only a few seconds later). This makes using the device for gaming extremely annoying, and difficult. This issue does not occur in normal use, only gaming, where there is rapidly changing multitouch inputs.
If any of you have noticed this, maybe you can contact Samsung/ATT complaining of the issue, if we're lucky maybe a patch will be released. Or it will be fixed in a future firmware update. I already wrote to both, ATT says they will forward the complaint to their management, Samsung has yet to reply.

Also, this is a video I created demonstrating the problem. The video includes annotations describing the issue that can only be viewed from PC YouTube.

Thanks for reading.
Has anybody with this device tried a multi-touch test? I'm starting to wonder if it's related to my screen protector. The issue only started after the KitKat update though, immediately after. I do a good amount of mobile gaming or I'd never have noticed it still to this day. Never presents itself outside of fps games.
Best way to check (within multi-touch test app):
Touch screen with two fingers.
Keep one stationary and rapidly slide the other around for a few seconds then stop and lift that finger only.
The stationary touch will act as though you lifted even though you didn't.
Sometimes touches will be erratic for a while if the test is repeated several times.
If anyone tries this please let me know if you have a screen protector or not and how it behaved. Thanks.
Nobody with this device on KitKat is willing to do a multitouch test for me?
All you have to do is turn the phone sideways so the app is in landscape mode, touch with two fingers, one on each side of the screen.
Keep one still, move the other rapidly for a little while then stop, but keep touching the screen.
Does the app show that you lifted the other finger even though you didn't?
I'd appreciate it, trying to narrow it down to a kernel driver issue, or screen protector issue.

Thanks for verifying. It's not the screen itself from what I can tell. I tried this on Jelly Bean with no issues. I did go through the kernel source for KitKat and believe it is the KitKat kernel touch driver. I am hoping for ATT/Samsung to release a kernel patch. The multitouch was perfect in JB.
Hi Friends!
I am having a strange problem in my samsung galaxy s4 (Gt-i9500).
I was on stock 4.4.2. Unrooted. One day suddenly my Device is muted. Means no audio on music/video Player. No audio on notification. No touch sound. No screen lock sound. No sound on call. Caller can't hear me too. No sounds on headset too.
I tried reboot, reset, format, removed SD card, Flashed Stock firmware in Odin, Flashed Custom Roms but nothing worked.
Visited Samsung service centre . They tried flashing the firmware. Then said they need to change the motherbord. Because my Device is out of warranty they said it will cost me around Rs 7000/-. I don't want to spend that much because i know that this is not a hardware problem. How do i know that??
Now the intresting and strange part of the problem. Every time When i switch on my Device in morning sound works properly. Everything works including calls. There is a small lag in calling interfere. When i touch mute or Speaker phone there is a lag of 1 or 2 second in activation. Same while receiving calls. But Sounds works perfectly. For weeks . UNTIL i reboot or switch off. After reboot again same problem of no audio.
To solve this i have to switch off my Device for a whole night and switch it on in morning. Every time this works. In every ROM this works.. I wonder what is the reason behind the problem and solution.
Please help me to solve the problem Permanently .

He said that he flashed custom roms.
I don't really know what to say since it happens on different roms. That means it can't be a software problem. Unless it's cause by software unaffected by flashing other roms
You have clearly established that it is a hardware issue because you are getting consistent results in software across roms. Everyone else can state to you most highly elusive issues in roms are solved by clearing dalvik cache and factory reset and in extreme cases deleting user data from the recovery. That hasn't worked so it can't be a software issue. Your audio processor is even lagging as you say even when it is operating within its manufacturer specifications in a newly installed rom. Unless you can trace back what you could have changed unknowingly on a hardware level, trying to do it on a software level is futile, its not meant to be as complicated as your thought line makes it. Surely..... you took it to as Samsung Service Centre, unless you can prove that you ran hardware lab tests showing clearly that your individual audio hardware components aren't failing by showing that they are yielding manufacturer hardware specifications at every test, you are going round in circles.
Hardware failure occurs on 3 levels:-
1) Total instant failure with no temporary workarounds
2) Noise suppression failure (Introduction of noise)
3) Waning hardware performance.
Yours seems to fall in the 3rd option. The unfortunate bit is that the audio hardware processor is located on the larger board (motherboard) as a fused component and not on the easily replaceable flex daughter board below the speaker. Unfortunately you might end up forking out that Rs7k eventually. Samsung should have designed the phone in such a way that you don't need to replace the entire mobo for such an issue.
That's the detailed and informed explanation. I am impressed by your knowledge. Thanks for replying .
I've read some reviewers complaining about this problem in some reviews of the Yotaphone 2 around the web, but couldn't find anything related in this forum, so...
Is anyone here having problems with the keyboard lagging while typing text? As if the device didn't have enough power to process the character hittings and ends up queuing and eventually missing some of them. I've been using the default Google Keyboard, but this problem is regardless of the keyboard application I use, and is just driving me crazy.
I'm still on Kitkat as it is my favorite Android, but it's so frustrating typing on this device I am really thinking of upgrading just to see this issue gone. Has anyone already experienced these lags? Can anyone confirm that this has been addressed on Lollipop?
The problem is RAM related. Chheck wich application use more RAM in your device and try uninstalling them.
Turns out it is not RAM or processor related, it is a touch sensitivity issue. Actually, according to people responding to the reviewers mentioned, it is not even an issue, but a feature, as it was apparently meant for glove usage (Russian smartphone, makes sense).
And I find it to be the case. If I take care to lift the finger enough from the screen between character hittings, the "problem" goes away.
So....looks like the solution is to tweak the screen sensitivity somehow, or to learn how to live with that once knowing what causes it.
Just to report some findings:
My device was running the RU 4.4.3 firmware when I was coming across this problem. Now with the EU 4.4.3 version, this overly sensitive touch is gone.
So this "glove mode" is definitely something from the russian firmwares.
I've just purchased a Tab S5e but appear to be having some issues with the touchscreen. I first noticed it when scrolling, occasionally the scrolling would stop and the device would click on anything that was under my finger. I also noticed this when playing a game where a finger needed to be held on the screen, it was sometimes appear to the game that my finger was removed.
I recorded a video of what i'm experiencing here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-33ixSpHRijjhb8g-MNLvbjMvuPRuGrQ. I did not remove my finger at all whilst drawing in white, but gaps appear.
I guess my question is has anyone else experienced this, or could this be a hardware fault? I thinking of returning this and waiting for the S6e or similar rumoured to be out soon.
Thanks all!
I'm experiencing touch screen problems where I sometimes need to tap the display 3 or 4 times before the screen will register the touch. I've only had mine for a few days but Im thinking about returning as well.
I was going through the threads for the first time to see if there were similar issues reported or tips to minimize the issue.
After switching from the Huawei Mate 20 Pro to the Samsung S10+ and from a Huawei tablet to this I have to say I'm seriously underwhelmed with Samsung.

Nope. The problem doesn't occur when playing games or using apps that test the display--but does with pretty much everything else. Some apps also have very pronounced jelly effect while scrolling including the Samsung Members App--scrolling through posts has so much jelly effect it makes me feel like I'm going blind.
Earlier Galaxy Tab devices had a calibration setting to adjust touch sensitivity but the type of panel used in the S5e apparently can't be user calibrated. Some people have claimed that the pointer speed setting is the same thing but touch sensitivity and response speed aren't the same thing and increasing that setting to the max didn't improve anything for me. If you want a faster response that's one thing but if the touch doesn't even register in the first place then there isn't anything to speed up.
The game optomizer service running in the background clearly ramps up the kernel when playing games to eliminate or minimize the touch issues and display test apps are treated like games and also get the extra performance boost--but with a locked bootloader I don't think there are any user options besides not purchasing Samsung in the first place.
Would a custom rom solve this?

I always check before buying a tablet to make sure there is developement of custom ROMs in XDA. And the first thing I do when I get one is to root and install one. Are there still "touch problems" with my ROM? Yes and no. I've noticed with this and other tablets that when the tablet first boots, there can be a lag in touch response. But I don't think it has anything to do with "touch sensitivity". I think the problem is that the OS is still "setting up" and just isn't ready to accept touches. (Try it on a Win 10 box. There is a terrific delay between the time the desktop screen first appears and the time it is ready.) This can also be true of apps. The screen can display before the app is ready for input. IMNSHO, I think some people just love to find reasons to knock "the vendor they love to hate".:crying:
Since I bought this tablet, I noticed that issue, the screen detects the touch, but it does not perform the action I want, open an app, select something, etc. I learned to live with it, but that is annoying !!, I installed a Custom ROM specifically [ROM] [UNOFFICIAL] [gts4lvwifi] [10] LineageOS 17.1 and I can confirm that the issue disappears, the problem for which I returned to STOCK, is the cut down quality of Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, because Widevine Level certification . and now in STOCK, I lost Samsung PASS, because it detects that I have the rooted device. fyi, my model is SM-t720.
