lol - frp is useless with an unlocked bootloader. Whoever finds your device owns it along with the unencrypted secrets it holds.

Hi.
Somewhere, I've read that after relocking the Bootloader, one can see that it was unlocked before. Is that really so?
Can someone tell me what the Bootloader status says, after relocking?
I don't want to run that procedure just to be able to see what the status is.
Thanks in advance

You can relock yes, but Motorola already knows that you unlocked it, because you asked them the unlock code giving your IMEI. Relocking is pointless for warranty

If a person chooses to relock, what is the procedure to unlock next time round?
Does one need an unlock code? Does the original one work?

Whats the point to relock? Warranty is void. Just more hassle, because every time you unlock it again it wipes your phone...

According to some, it would be a security measure.
Yes, I understand that the warranty is gone the moment I agree to that on Motorola's site even if I never actually use the code and unlock the phone. The question is from curiosity, really.

Technically, asking for a code doesn't mean you've used it, so it's not a proof of anything.

it doesn't have to be. It is when you request the code that you sign away your warranty. It is in the not-so-small print.

Seems like you're right. They're cheeky bastards
Will OTAs be Installable if we relock?
Relocking the phone won't give your warranty back for 2 reasons.
1) When you have unlocked your device you have asked a code to Motorola (and they have stored your device as unlocked)
2) If you watch on botloader there is a bootloader status (or something similar) that report code 3 (unlocked) and not 0 (not unlocked). If you relock your device the status code remain 3, so it continue to say it was unlocked. Relocked the bootloader haven't any utility (a locked device is a bit more secure but wipe your data everytime for a bit more security isn't so useful and if you want to reunlock it you have to ask the code to Motorola again (IDK if fastbot oem unlock is enought or not)).
Just head from a well know dev on xda... Now im pretty excited!!!
Do we have any proof of that?

Unless I'm seriously mistaken, I already confirmed that it is oem unlocked on another thread of mine.
I turned on the oem unlocked toggle, and after doing so, if I boot to download mode, it clearly states 'FAP LOCK OFF' and 'OEM LOCK OFF'

Oem unlock is not unlocked bootloader. All tmobiles s7 edges have that option and are locked down. Wishful thinking tho

Yes but the S8 does NOT have the OEM unlock option. The exynks variants have always had an unlocked bootloader.

Just to clarify, I *do* have the OEM Unlock option, on my S8+ Exynos (SM-G955F)
Why are you guys surprised the exynos has an unlocked bootloader, it was same story with s7, international root ftw!

You can't upgrade because the bootloader is locked. The bootloader is locked because Verizon are money hungry and want to ensure you need an upgrade.
but in developer option there is an option to unlock boot loader isint that suffice ?
bump.
anyone please update
is it or is it not Verizon?
Hi all, I am in no way a developer, found out about this site from a Quora post about *drumroll* rooting a DT2. My question is this: I purchased my phone reconditioned (whatever that entails) from Amazon. It does not have the Verizon check mark on the bottom--does that mean I can root it? Please help!

Could we trick the DT2 into believing its an update for it, but then update the firmware to unlock the bootloader?... How does Verizon update the firmware themselves if the bootloader is locked?

Why do you need to bypass it? If you bought the phone legally then you shouldn't require this. Other than that, I don't know if there is a method to bypass it or not.

unlock frp
i got it to remove without paying nothing r unlock bootloader
Hello,
so I have been looking for a free method to unlock the bootloader on this nokia. In the developer section there is a greyed out "unlock bootloader" option, but can't press it to work. I have registered in official HMD site and also downloaded and installed the application. It sayd that it does not work. So could please anyone tell me how to unlock the BL for free? I have been looking around for long and found some pages but those seems to be a scam.
Greetings.
There's no way to unlock the bootloader on Nokia phones for free, the only way is a paid service.

Hmm.. in this case if I would like to root my phone I do need to unlock BL, right? Who is making this service and how does it cost? What about the tutorials on the internet?

Yes you'll need to unlock bootloader to do any sort of modification to system or even flash a stock rom by yourself there's no recovery tool nothing.
You should contact @singhnsk for paid unlocks. Frankly any tutorial you'll find on the internet is fake or old those worked on Android 8 and that also you'd need unlock keys which you'll have to buy.
