I tried installing RR ROM last night it took me a good 8 tries because twrp couldn't wipe the cache and put me into boot loop. And then my nandroid backup failed to restore from SD so the only option I had was to format data from twrp which wiped my downloads for all the ROMs. I had to sideload RR and Gapps to finally resurrect my phone. My back up is lost now.
Is there any fix for these issues? Also I tried installing through otg but that didn't work either I couldn't select the option.
I appreciate all your help
Thanks!

Hello there,
I was installing latest Build of PA rom, I downloaded it from someone's mirror, I went to twrp then wiped data, system, cache, dalvik and usb otg. Wipe failed.. Then I noticed I by mistake selected usb otg, I deselected it and wiped again and it was successful. Then i went to install and installed rom then installed gapps and then kernel (martix) and rebooted phone. It was stuck on google logo. I went to fastboot mode and then into recovery then wiped and installed previous build but I'm still stuck to boot logo (google) Now I want to know if I can recover my data from internal storage somehow in twrp or fastboot mode.. or I can unbrick device without loosing any data of mine..
Any help would be appreciate thanks..
Updated: Solved
Hi guys! I need a bit of help. I was using PA 4.42 with FK r209 on my N4 with all F2FS (/system, /data, /cache). Yesterday I flashed Nexus_5_Experience_cm11_Nexus4_Release8.5 which claimed in its features that it has F2FS support. so I made a Nandroid backup with TWRP, wiped system, data, cache, dalvik cache and flashed the ROM. Installer did the job apparently fine and showed installation as successful. I then rebooted but ROM could not make it. It was stuck on decryption password screen and did not go past even by giving the password. Then I got back to TWRP Recovery mode and tried to restore my Nandroid backup but it was also stuck at PA boot animation prior to decryption password screen. Then I again went back to Recovey, wiped system, cache, data and dalvik cache again and then restored the Nandroid backup again but it stuck at PA boot animation again.
Is there any way I can restore my backup or would I need to fastboot flash a factory image to make the phone alive again? If so, would it be ok to flash factory image while having all partitions converted to F2FS? Will it do the job or add up in the issue?
Any suggestions would be appreciated please.
EDIT:
ISSUE SOLVED BY FASTBOOT FLASHING 4.4.4 FACTORY IMAGE WHICH HAD NO CLASH WITH F2FS PARTITIONS AND RE-WROTE ALL PARTITIONS TO EXT4 FORMAT.
I just rooted my phone yesterday and I tried to delete a TWRP backup that was on my internal memory. I was unable to find out how to do it and set permissions in TWRP, which caused my phone to start booting with unable to start messages and a black screen. I tried restoring a backup and I wiped and restored, both have still same issue.
So at the moment I can start TWRP or factory reset, but as of yet, I cannot restore my backup.
When I backed up the phone I didn't select everything, I left out data.
Since you didn't backup your data, they are a few options. Wipe dalvik and cache from recovery, dirty flash a rom, clean flash a rom.

I was using an old version of twrp. I updated to 2.8.6.0 and it all works now, thanks.
This started happening with a working RR android 7.1 ROM I have used for several days. Today, I wanted to try out LineageOS 14.1 so I made a nandroid backup of data and internal storage. When I rebooted into RR the screen was flickering and a message constantly popped up stating that com.android.phone stopped and Calendar stopped and com.android.media stopped etc etc.
So I went on and did a full clean flash
I tried t remove my sim and the clean flash but to no avail. I do advanced wipe --> Dalvik/ART cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, and Cache before every flash today. Then i flash ROM and latest gapps, wipe cache/dalvik and reboot.
Even without flashing gapps, the problem is still there.
Running on TWRP 3.0.0 (worked for several days on RR android 7.1 ROM), but tried on 3.0.2-2, 3.0.2, and 3.0.1 with the same results.
How did this happen? Is my EFS and IMEI f'ed because of the nandroid backup of data and internal storage?
How do I fix this?
Kind regards and a happy new year!
Same here. Twrp is the culprit, I'm afraid. It isn't taking good backups. Just fresh install RR and download all your apps, it'll work. Can't wait for twrp update...
i needed to format system to ext 4 and now everything works!
Hi,
I have a rooted OP5 with 4.5.13.
I tried to install the flashable zip (from here) via TWRP without wipe, but ended up in a bootloop.
I've restored to the nandroid backup, wiped data, and tried again. This time the OP5 managed to boot only to recovery.
I've verified the md5 of the file I've used.
Do you know why this is happening? Do you know how I can upgrade to 4.5.14?
Thanks.
Did you download the full ROM or just the update?
I tried both. I didn't succeeded to install the update (as it is not intended for rooted devices).
The full rom is what caused the bootloop.
If you are doing a dirty flash you wipe cache and system. If you are doing a clean flash you wipe cache, system and data. It doesn't sound like you wiped the correct partitions when doing your flash. You also need to flash Magisk or SU after the ROM flash and before booting up or you will lose TWRP and root. If your phone is decrypted for some reason you also need to flash a no verify zip or your phone will boot loop because OOS is made for encrypted phones.
