I've bought a Sony Xperia Z locked (supposedly to Movistar Spanish network) but it's locked to
an unknown network because i tried several sims (from vodafone, movistar, yoigo...) with no luck.
Is there any way to know what is the operator locking the phone so i can unlock paying for a unclock code using
its imei?

I have my mda (purchased in US) unlocked and the ipl is 2.26.
I am trying to use a pickup and go SIM card in the UK but my phone won't accept UK simcards. I tried a vodaphone card and it didn't work.

I got my wing from usa, now I'm trying to use it here, in Russia, I flashed it with aserg 12..... and got it working with MTS. But when I put Megafon sim-card inside I get message to put unlock code/ but it's unlocked already. Have no idea whats goin' on. Somebody can gimme any advise?

But it's better you make USPL first just in case...
It depends on your needs if you need a SIM unlock or not.
You don't need it to flash another ROM, you just need it to use a SIM from another provider than the one you bought it with.
example: I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact III, with T-mobile SIM lock. If I want to use a SIM from Telfort, O2, KPN or another provider I have to remove the SIM lock first.
I've CID unlocked it a long time ago and flashed a dozen of different ROMs with the SIM lock still on. Just a month ago I removed the SIM lock.

general Problem: Have problem to get network after (sim)unlock my phone.
my situation:
I got a mda Vario I from T-mobile Austria.
I unlocked my phone using Lokiwiz.
Now i changed my provider from T-mobile Austria to Hutchison 3G Austria
So i thought it should work because i unlocked my device as mentioned above
But the problem apeard that i got no network connection, the sim work fine, i can find all providers but it will not connect (also tried sim in other phone worked fine -> sim is OK)
So I used Lokiwiz(all versions 02,03,03a) again to unlock my phone everything worked fine also changed CID to 00000000 but same problem.
Currently i also try different radios but always the same problem.
So now i am on the end with my wits anybody an idea?
Cann anybody help me?

I also have a 'Drei' (H3G) HD2 and wanted to unlock it.
The problem is: 'Drei' seems to have different unlock codes or something like that.
Nobody could unlock my phone, i tried 6 different shops.
So unless there happened something in the last month, you have bad luck!
