I do not like the new Google play store. I deleted it and reinstalled the previous version but somehow it just auto updates itself. Anyone know a way to stop it from auto updating?
I think there is a market updater app that you can freeze with Titanium. I am fairly sure that I did that on Gingerbread
Most likely the OP isn't interested anymore to get an answer, but since this thread is well ranked by Google when someone search for the same question posted by the OP, I think it worth to update this thread with my answer that can be read here:

Thanks for the answer! Unfortunately I forgot why I didn't want the app to auto update itself. I must have had a reason, lol!
Theme breaks new Play Store

Because if you have a style theme running, (TBO BlackKat or Infamous dark theme donate version) the new Play Store will crash when you open it.

Thanks! I'm glad you posted this. I've been having trouble with the recent Play Store updates (v5.10.30, the one before it, and the one after it I got from APK mirror), so I created the folder, and uninstalled all the updates, and so far it hasn't reinstalled the recent version.
Hey, i've recently got my new ford fiesta with the above android headunit installed.
The unit is locked and without a google play. The advanced options are blocked and i was wondering if the device can be rooted or unlocked? I found little to no information on the subject.
Thanks!
if you have any app that wants you to rate it on google play you can use it to get the playstore installed and then via browser link get google play services. from there you'll be fine

same issue for me.
I can't install/update apps. I tried to install google play services, without success. There is a way to unlock the device?
Hello there! Anyone had success on updating this device? Any information would be appreciated

this app give you the possibility to set a view links to internal functions of LG G5.
Because it is not risky to try this links, i suggest you to make your own experiences.
all informations about possible links you will find at play store!
nice. thanks a lot.
I have done a factory reset on my tablet running the latest update. That made the downloads work for awhile. They stopped working and I tried the clearing of the cache and data for the Google play store and Google play store services. That worked for awhile too. Now I'm back to not being able to download updates or new apps from the play store. Has anyone else encountered this issue and successfully fixed it?
You can open Play Store and start the updates or dowload, but the app is waiting eternally to receive data? If so, it happened for me once also.
Just google for the problem and you'll find official help from google about this. They give several options, and there was one that made it for me. But i can't remember which one. I think it was to remove updates from google services, and not just clean data. And after that it was working fine again.
But try to google for that, 'cause they state several possible causes. It seems to be not a rare problem.

I'm facing the same problems. Also did a complete reset. I tried to install a beta version of Play Services which fixed it for a while.
It's not predictable for me, sometimes it works, sometimes not. After a restart updates work more often.

I have done this aw well but it's not a permanent solution. After awhile it goes back to not downloading immediately.
Temporary solution without factory reset

I had the same issue and I did factory reset to my table twice, later I found in some forum (I forgot the site, sorry) that a simple quick solution to that without factory reset was to enable / disable the Battery saver feature, sounds crazy I know, but it works, it also works when my tablet doesn't want to download any file, Just would like to have the issue permanently solved from an update tough...
Good Luck!

Thank you SO much! I've been dealing with this problem off and on for months, and had accepted that I would just have to remove all of the data for the Play Store and Services and reboot every time. I just tried enabling and disabling Battery Saver and it worked perfectly. This really makes a difference.
problem solved

» I was passing for the same problem, after a research on the lenovo forum I found the solution. Go on security and desible all device administrators (ex. "find my device", "google pay" and etc.) and after restart the tablet, probably will back to download. It works on my yoga book. I hope to help. give me a feed back if works. Bye.

Does not work for me
I disabled them all, but changed nothing. All that helps is enter energy saving mode.

I don't know whitch worked - new Play Store in general or the second thing which I did - I've turned off battery optimisation for Goolge system apps and the general Google search app - worked as a charm (Packet instaler, Google services framework, google partner setup, google one time init). Apps are downloading like crazy, automatically or not, my battery performance was not affected.
Hope it's gonna work for you as it did for me
Cheers!
try to factory reset all the settings

Tried that, didnt work.
I've just noticed that we have some hidden apps installed on our "pure" Android device. "Caping" is one such app that you won't be able to find anywhere on the phone, even in the system apps, but when you go to the Play store, you can see that you can uninstall that app.
I've noticed the app using the "Action launcher" because it displays it in the app drawer, but the stock Launcher 3 doesn't...
I've been searching for it for a while and just thought that it installed and uninstalled with the Action launcher as bloat, but today I've received a notification from the "Capting" app and that's how I realized that the app is still present and went ahead and deleted the app via notification long press...
I've seen in the Mi A1 forum that Xiaomi installs this app silently on that phone so probably the same happened to us.
There may be more of these hidden, silent apps and if you know of any more, please report here. For everyone else not wanting these hidden apps lurking around their device, feel free to remove it.
I don't see the app using action launcher..
TKDN regulations Working flawless on our country ? ?
not on my phone. I guess it's just Xiaomi automatic installation on the first run. I always clean out every app except the remote since that's the only one I used.
And for others, that Caping app only available on Indonesia region afaik.

I'm from Europe and that's what was weird to me...
Caping (and Babe) is one of the prerequisite apps that every vendor/OEM must have installed on their devices in order to bypass the Indonesian regulation, and since some of Xiaomi devices rom is compiled in their HQ/Server in Indonesia (see about phone, on the compilation date you'll notice the time is in WIB which means Waktu Indonesia Barat or Western Indonesian Time) i guess these apps is pretty much baked on the system.

wait you're serious? are the government want to poison us with stupid and click bait news all day?
This is crazy. Luckily I don't have any installed on my phone...
Just to update. There are a couple of other Xiaomi apps installed on the device not displayed in the app drawer of the stock launcher (Launcher 3) such as the Xiaomi Store and others. I've found them using Lawnchair launcher. Thought this might be useful information for anyone wanting a bloat free phone.
I got my phone from an online Chinese store and its a Global version and it has the Caping app. Uninstalled it already. Any more apps that we should know that shouldn't be there in the first place?

You can uninstall Mi Store and Mi Community also. These three apks are hidden for those who live in India.
Also, there are few telemetry apps that you guys should disable via adb:
/system/app/TelemetryService/TelemetryService.apk=com.qualcomm.qti.haven.telemetry.service
/system/app/Spock/Spock.apk=com.miui.spock

I don't have the store and community installed, just the file manager and remote. Kept the remote and replaced the file manager with Files Go.
What are the functions of the telemetry and spock? Is there a way to remove them without using adb?
Found that Google Indic, Korean and Pinyin Keyboard were installed as well.
