Random Rebbot Moto G4 plus - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

While using lineage os 14.1 I'm facing random reboots almost 3-4 times a day. I tried clearing dalvik cache and cache, but that only helped one day next day it was the same story. Some were saying it's due to the radio, I'm using Jio 4G LTE. Can anyone tell how can I stop this, or should I move to stock also suggest if any other custom rom that doesn't has this problem?
Thank you

I'm not entirely sure about it, but some people said that underclocking the GPU to 400-450MHz might help against random reboots.

I'm sure your battery is not new and can not produce enough power.
The underclocking the GPU will only reduce the load on the battery.
The best solution is to replace the battery.
Before I also had random reboots, until I replaced the battery

Diagnosing hardware failure

For the past few days I seemed to be getting a lot of random force close errors on my legend, with no discernible pattern. This continued up to the point where all of a sudden pretty much every app crashed and wouldnt remain open more than a few seconds. I then tried to reboot, and since then the phone just gets stuck in a bootloop at the rom loading screen. I've tried four or five different roms, all with the same error.
I would assume this was a memory/processor malfunction, however the fact that I can still flash roms and make backups with clockwordmod suggests to me the hardware could be ok? Does anybody know of some sort of diagnostic rom I could run to check this?
Thanks guys
Matt
Here's some stuffs to check out, don't over clock, Max 600mhz, not every phone can be oc'd, maybe even try less processor speed say 480 MHz. Have u been ocing your phone on extream speed for long time, like 806+ mhz, that will kill a processor for sure.
Have you done a fix permissions with clockwork mod? This can help heaps with fc's.
If using an ext partition which type are you using 2 3 or 4, apparantly if your using ext4 and your phone is crashing it can cause even more issues.
Using lots if widgets on your screens?
Have you tried a different/new SD card?
My understanding is your rom space can eventually fail if your flashing lots n lots of roms, but you said you can flash successfully, so that sounds good.
There is a few to start you off.

Amazingly I have managed to completely fix the problem. In a last moment of desperation before buying a new phone I decided to try wiping the battery stats, simply because I had never tried it before (didnt see the need to). Miraculously this did the trick, and I managed to boot into cyanogen 6!
I then restored a backup I made when the phone first died, and confirmed it was still broken as I expected. I then wiped the battery stats , and viola it worked!
I have no idea what is stored in the battery stats, but I am very surprised this made a difference. Thanks for your help anyway ranger.

[Q] Massive, abnormal lag with any ROM

So I don't spend much time in the Nexus 7 forum since I rarely use this device. Thus, I apologize in advance if this is brought up a lot.
I'll admit I haven't done much searching on the issue because the hits I found never seemed to apply to my situation.
No matter what ROM I flash, I always end up with massive, massive lag.
Seriously horrible lag.
Like, it can take 30 seconds just to open an app.
CPU Spy indicates I'm hitting all core frequencies so I'm not sure there is a hardware problem, but I haven't ruled it out either.
My flash procedure with TWRP is to wipe EVERYTHING. Data, system, cache, dalvik, etc.
One time I even wiped internal and then transferred the ROM over using ADB.
Then I'll flash the ROM and set everything up.
Tried different ROM's, different versions of Android and different GAPPs.
Any suggestions from the collective?
Hi there. There is a thread for the Solution of this known problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...arrotmod-speed-2012-nexus-7-emmc-fix-t3300416
Thank you. I have actually tried that and while it helped a little, I still suffered from massive lag.
I just found that Android 7 is available from DU for this tablet.
Gonna give this a try later this afternoon.
I still have lag on DU 7.0
have you tried the carbon ROM? thats the most lag free N 7 ROM. But these are still in development initial ROM. There would be some problems here and there

What build of Nougat/Marshmallow are you running? When did these problems occur?
Have you performed the usual recommended wipe cache/dalvik resets? Shouldn't affect your data.
Something appears to be keeping your GPS awake, see if you can disable the service or apps using it. You may wish to download wake lock detector or better battery stats to see what is keeping your device awake.
If you still get battery drain afterwards, I'd suggest a factory reset to remove any apps that might be causing problems, and then see if your phone stabilises. If it does, reinstall your apps one by one till you find the offender or offending combination. Of course this factory reset will erase all your app data and apps, so back up accordingly. This may be painful though if you wish to find out whether your battery drain and shutoffs are due to software, a dodgy system, or hardware, it's a start.
Yeah i tried everything. I reset my phone like 5 times and wiped cache too but that didn't work.....

Alright, so from what you've mentioned, might not be due to your apps. The next step may be to re flash your stock ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369 so we can rule out a bad OTA update.

[Q] change the battery or throw the cellphone away?

Hi guys
I have my note 4 (n910f) since 2015. I have changed the battery twice when they became unstable after a year of using and the charge amount suddenly changed from a high amount to zero percent.
the current battery has been working well and the charge amount is always correct.
the problem is that when I play a game like Clash Royale or open an application like Instagram after a game the phone is restarted and goes to boot-loop and never comes back until I do a lot of things such as wipe cache and sometimes wipe battery stats (recently), put it in the refrigerator because when this problem happens the area close to the camera becomes very hot so I try to cool down it.
I had the Alexander rom, then I have tried some original rom and then I tried to root the original rom and update the baseband and everything but the problem still occurs on my phone.
So if you know that this problem would be solved by a new battery I am going to buy one. I don't have extra money to do the risk because the battery is expensive now and hard to find in Rio de janeiro.
If there is a serious problem with cpu or motherboard then I should throw it away
guys if you think that there is a solution for heating and restarting and boot-loop please help me to solve it
The Snapdragon variants of the Note 4 have all been sufffering from various issues. I would advise that you back up your device, wipe it then sell it and purchase a new device. As there is nothing you can do, short of replacing the Motherboard.
I used the below method and the problem was solved
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/100-fix-galaxy-note-4-emmc-error-random-t3859448/
however, after that the back button doesn't work, the pen also is not recognized.
I have installed the navigation bar for the first problem.
I think it is worth to try for dead phones.

Battery stats

If anybody can help me.
I've got an issue with my battery stat.

If anybody can help me, you're welcome.
Also, I used all thermal fix who's exist.

How many apps are being restricted by your Pie Rom's battery manager? What is killing the battery according to battery manager?
If you are using recent Pie Roms, they are already using the thermal fix, so that will not help, have you made any tweaks with a kernel manager.
I clicked on your photo but cannot see the image, just to verify, you have tried full wiping and formatting data?
Which Rom are you using, which plugins? I tried the recent AICP 14 and I am getting great battery life. But FYI, my sim card is no longer in the Leeco phone.
So:
-No apps killed by battery manager
-Always full wiped, and recent format data
-I've tried à lot of rom on this forum. Now, I think it comes from my new leeco le. Pro 3.
My last was broken and I bought another one. And from the start of it it became to do that.
It's not the end because it works fine!
