Help! Unlocking PIN Encrypted Boot protected SM-T580
Hi, i purchased a SM-T580 Tablet (i haven't received it yet, but i want to be prepared) that when turned on has this message:
Your tablet is encrypted for security
to start up your device enter your pin
and has a numeric keypad to enter the pin.
My question is
will i be able to enter recovery and factory reset the tablet to remove this encryption protection?
if i can't do that, can i flash a stock firmware in odin to remove this protection?
If not, what can ido to remove it? i know how to remove FRP lock on this tablet but i haven't tried to remove this protection.

That's is not an FRP lock. It is a security MDM lock from a third party co and it probably won't allow you to factory reset or flash via Odin. You can try googling MDM locks but I've never had any success disabling one.

You are probably right, in which case holding the Vol up, home and power should allow a factory reset if OEM enable is on.

So you've tried this unbrick method?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072732&highlight=unbrick
If that doesn't work, you're in the line of people with similar problems, looking for a way to restore bootloader with nvFlash.

Sounds like you may have to reflash a complete stock factory image, including your bootloader. Those threads should be of help.

You should start over completely and make sure you have the right factory image and that all partitions are formatted etc. Start getting it to boot with stock image and locked bootloader, and take it from there.

Specifically points 2 and 12?
Go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.

Problem is I don't think they can actually boot the phone now to get to Dev. Options!
Flash stock via Odin and start again I think following all the steps correctly....

The phone does not boot up anymore so i can not access to enable OEM in point 2
Start from Fresh.
Download the Stock image and attempt to flash via recovery. / Odin
I dont fully understand the OEM Option.
But if its not been enabled and the system has been modified the Device will fail to boot.
You need to unlock the OEM Option.
This is why its worth reading the instructions over and over again and even reading about peoples problems before flashing.
I know my way around android, i have been flashing since android was first around.
Regardless of how well i know things.
I still spent the time reading the threads, Peoples problems, common issues by not reading instructions properly before i even touched my S7.
You will be faced with less issues the more product knowledge you know!
Its better to know more than less
Assuming Smart Switch is the new replacement for Kies (Never used it)
But you may be able to restore the device properly from here.

I gathered that from your error, maybe I should have worded it "Did you follow this thread....."
You will probably have to try to get into download mode several times as I have heard that is is pretty tricky with the error you get but you will get there
what ever i do it always says with green writing CUSTOM BINARY ( RECOVERY) BLOCKED BY FRB LOCK,
I tried to flash twrp-3.0.1-0-hero2lte.img .tar, again same error, and when trying to flash firmware it goes through but it would not boot up and at the end of flash process i get { dm-verity verification failed need to check DRK FIRST on GALAXY S7 edge }
My FRP method this:
Phone G935A, used Firmware G935U (not AT&T bloatware)
Insert prepaid sim 0$, and 0mb internet, but LTE network...
Personalise phone start, and wifi not turn on. Google verification fail, and NEXT button active...
Personalise finish, and turn dev.opt on, oem unlock on, and add the google account.

I have the same problem. I can't root the phone because FRP lock is on but I can't turn it off because I can't get to the OS. I've tried flashing official firmware already.
Smart switch emergency function can bypass the FRP lock and restore the firmware.
IT is a stand alone fuction for phones with FRP problems.
You need your serial number for this to work.
I have been able to fix the frp problem when I flashed my phone but did not turn on OEM unlock.
I am currently unable to unlock the boot loader on my phone. The OEM Unlocking setting will not work. Earlier I tried to root my phone but I failed. I accidentally wiped the whole phone. I had to repair it by installing a factory stock rom(POTTER_NPN25.137-35). I have unlocked the developers settings and turned on USB Debugging. However I cannot turn on OEM Unlocking.

Its already turned on. Just follow the steps of unlocking the bootloader. You will surely be able to unlock it!
Good Luck!!
I relocked myself and I have the option to unlock again. I'd suggest trying what Harshal0512 said.

What does it show in the bootloader screen? Most likely, you have unlocked the bootloader successfully (thus the wipe, which is normal), now you just need to root it.
Sure hope this isn't something with King(o)root or a similar "one click" tool... most of those will not work, and some will even brick a Moto device.
I checked the boot loader and it is unlocked. I am not in the process of rooting it the device. Thank you all for you help.

My oem unlocking option is grayed out...earlier i have tried to unlock my phone that time i am able to turn the oem unlocking option on but due to some problems my phone got stuck in the boot screen ...i gave my phone to service centre after i got my phone i saw that my oem unlocking option is grayed...now what to do? I am usi]ng moto g5 plus please help!!
The only reasons OEM unlocking is grayed out is either you are already unlocked, or they installed an engineering bootloader... Better hope it's the first one, because if it's the second your in trouble. What is the output of "fastboot getvar all" (and mask out your IMEI)?

It's a temporary bootloader used by Moto Support/Repair and service centers when flashing back to stock after a failed update or corrupted ROM for some other reason, it allows them to unlock the device at a deeper level than normal, flash what they need, then relock the bootloader without tripping the warranty flag, then restore the stock bootloader.
It has happened a few times where a device has gone out with a Engineering bootloader (google it, you will see a few threads here and there) back to a customer after a repair, the problem is it's not really unlocked, you can't flash TWRP or custom ROM, and it can't be relocked or fully unlocked (we don't have the code required, guessing it's similar to a regular bootloader unlock code, unique per IMEI, but different). It is seriously annoying and the only solution is to send it back to Moto or return it to the service center which may or may not be able to rectify it. On a good note, the device will function on the ROM installed. We don't know what will happen if you attempt to take an OTA though.

Than you're probably unlocked already?

Restart the phone - do you see a screen with a yellow triangle with exclamation with a statement your bootloader is unlocked.... If Yes, your phone is already unlocked.
Hello!
Unfortunately, my device suffered a major mishap - Started with a few minor cracks and then somehow the screen has fully went whilst in my pocket (60% of the screen is black and the other 40% is just full of random colours and shattered pixels out of nowhere).
I've just paid my contract off and upgraded to the P20 Pro so now I've got this device in my office ready to be donated to a relative. I'm sending it off for repairs this week but I'd rather it was fully reset before I send it off.
Since the top half of the screen is unusable I'm struggling to reset it as I can't use TWRP, OS reset menu or even ADB (ADB shell gives unauthorised error as I can't swipe down to enable access to the PC.
Any one have any genius solutions? I'd appreciate it!
Thanks
And here is what I'm dealing with;

Unfortunately due to not having access the top 60% of the screen I can't reboot into recovery/bootloader/fastboot as I can't select the reboot options in the centre of the screen and I don't think the volume rockers are working properly either as I can't select options in the boot safety pop-up.
And as I can't give ADB permission I'm stuck in an unauthorised error on the cmd window!

Yeah I know that haha just has a lot of financial details on that I'd rather was removed prior understandably!
msmdownload tool, will wipe all data and reset to OSS or H2OS.
Update!
Even with a completely invisible screen I managed to boot to fastboot, push stock.img, lock bootloader and then wipe everything in stock recovery. Looks like remember the stock recovery layout has came in handy!
Thanks for all the assistance
