This thing has no home button and I can't figure out how to get this to recovery mode.
Does anyone have experience with this headunit?

I want to change the volume knob click function to the home button. And get Amazon music to work with the front skip button controls since they currently only work with the radio and music app.also af ew other things like nav volume ratio to music when it plays over it. for some reason this head unit settings is very limited.

I like to listen to audible.com books with my phone. On my HTC M8, I could use the 3 botton headphone remote to pause playback, or advance or jump back using the buttons on the headphone remote.
On some other phones, the 2nd and 3rd buttons either do nothing, or can only be used to adjust volume.
Has anybody used the included wired headphone remote, or another one, to skip forward or back on the ZTE Axon 7?
I do not use Audible, but the included headphone remote only has volume up and down, with a middle button that pauses. If your app has settings that let you customize the remote buttons just for that app, you may be able to reassign these. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like it.

Thanks, I really appreciate the response. Looks like I'll be getting my phone on Monday from B&H and I'll begin to find out.
I have a rooted unit, and i bought a usb remote control. When i use it to lower the volume, the joying will turn the volume back up on its own. Is there a way to fix this? Please help. Its frustrating with the side buttons on the tab.
I have a universal android head unit with Allwinner T3 processor. I’m not sure about the MCU, it mentions MCU version: 20180426-1-KC1-18.
I want to use another Music app and I tried poweramp. The only issue is that I cannot use the steering wheel buttons for previous/next song.
I don’t think its a poweramp issue. I used the preinstalled app called "Wheel" (SWC.apk) to assign an action on each button. The next/previous buttons are working with the stock Music app and Radio app. When I use poweramp the buttons are useless. If radio app was running before opening poweramp, I get a momentarily mute on each button press (next/previous). If I go back to the radio I see that the frequency has changed by the buttons. The same thing is happening with the rotary encoder on the head unit. So the buttons are working but they are not assigned as real next/previous buttons. The probably perform another internal action.
Is it possible to change their behaviour so they perform as previous/next and change the track on 3rd party Apps?
My device is rooted. The steering wheel buttons are not connected with canbus, they are connected on head unit key pins.
try to check with different music player (e.g. AIMP, JetAudio, etc.)
Different players react differently on different ways to send FF/prev/play/pause buttons (whether it is broadcast intent or MediaKey event).
BTW, ever tried NWD key app? I don't have problems on Joying/SoFIA HU, but you can try http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=899753 - there it is mentioned, that it is for T3 HUs.
Hello from Belgium!
A week ago I bought a VW Scirocco 2009 (without SWCs). This car had an unknown Joying HU (running Android 6.0.1) installed, also without any button controls.
I'm fine with all-touch displays. Only thing that bothers me is the volume controls needing precision aiming and focus when driving.
I installed AGAMAcar launcher to try and solve the issue with the gesture based volume control + BIG volume buttons. But alas, the volume goes down, but immediatly goes up again.
Is this connected to the factory settings of the HU? What should I change?
Note: I am not well-versed in HU and audio talk... So sorry if I'm asking something way stupid
After looking on the forum for some answers I came up with all unsolved(? - as far as I could find) threads about similar issues with volume control.
Hey guys!
I’ve been searching a ton for an answer on this… but can’t seem to find anything. I installed my Joying 13” head unit and wired up front speakers (will do my rears another weekend). The head unit is great, except that the volume is stuck at a high setting. I use the volume up/down buttons and the volume slider changes and the numbers go up and down, but the actual volume doesn’t change. It’s like the software isn’t talking to the hardware…
Any suggestions? I’m thinking of updating firmware in case that might work… but out of the box I would think the volume would work.
Thanks all!
@opexo any ideas
