Update with bootloader unlock - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hi
My phone is unlocked. If I update OTA directly, will it wipe my whole phone data?

I don't have this "problem" as it could also be intense to have notification led always on
There's many new little things from 8.0 to 8.1 and there is also some Xiaomi fixes and new bugs like every update from any brand ,?

Yes unlocked bootloader cause a part of safetynet fail and make you uncertified
I read somewhere on xda that some people on other phone were still certified after unlocked bootloader
Anyway it's "normal" and you can bypass safetynet with magisk if you really care

About time.. now we can just upgrade system and what not and retain WP
What's the best way to do this? Do we use fastboot and mfastboot?
Can we flash it?
Enviado desde mi XT1052 mediante Tapatalk
Use rsd lite
Sent from my XT1053 using Tapatalk
So using rsd lite, we will be able to keep root and WP?
Sent from my XT1053 using Tapatalk
I don't know about WP but you will have the option to root using TWRP recovery

I have a tmobile one with locked bootloader. Guess I will have to wait until I am ready to lose my warranty.

Why?
Since T-Mobile devices can be bootloader unlocked, you could just unlock your bootloader, and root via TWRP and SuperSU. So why wouldn't you, other than not wanting to void your warranty?
Another dumb question: can i flash this with twrp or is only with rsd?

Only rsd

Just go ahead and void it, what's the worst that could happen haha

So has anyone that's rooted 4.4 with a locked boot loader try this yet? Can we just fastboot the system.IMG while keeping root and WP off?

Exactly not voiding the warranty. I just got the phone in December and I love it. But frankly I'm concerned of voiding the warranty so quickly. I can see the foam around the front camera is already sliding a bit and potentially could impact the camera later on if it does. But maybe it never will. I don't want to send it back in just for that when it works great you know.

Updating cloud print?
Have you folks noticed an inability to update Google Cloud Print with this image? As in, when you attempt to update from Google Play you get a message about signature conflict?

Yup, same thing happens with the OTA version that I have, I doubt they will throw together a whole new build just to fix that though.

Or mfastboot
(if you like to do things manually)
Sorry for my ignorance, but is this different then the ota soak test?

It appears to be the exact same version.
And of course the OTA update is just an updater that modifies only certain parts/pieces. The SBF is the full rom.

LG G4 Bangladesh Thread

Hello guys, I just bought brand new LG G4 (black leather) H815T from a retail store. Been experimenting with it. Probably I am the first one here to own such a device. Anyone from my country (Bangladesh) are very welcome to discuss anything regarding the phone here. Thank you.
Warranty problem

I have a very sad story. First G4 I bought had motherboard crush which is a common problem now for G4. But as I bought from here n at that time, therere wasn't any warrenty available, I couldn't repair it yet. The one I am using now, I am at the last LP version of Steven's Rom. Haven't upgraded to MM yet at it needs bootloader unlock and if anything goes wrong again, LG will not avail my warrenty if I do that.

Try to flash it in odin, then as soon as your phone reboots hold vol +, home, and power. See if that will let you boot into TWRP

Maybe a bug in the Oreo firmware so you'll have to wait for tmobile to send a patch or its a hardware issue
