Hello,
So since .152 firmware got released i've noticed a considerable difference in battery life, have any of you noticed the same ? I saw some posts on the Zenfone 3 forums 2 people having the same issue and solving it by factory resetting the phone...i don't really want to factory reset my phone however, is there any solution to bringing the old battery life back ?
My apps or usage have not changed from before.
I noticed the exact same. I'm planning to revert back to 140. 152 causes considerable battery drain compared to 140.

How do u revert?
Some way to "block" update notification and popup?
I have had my zenfone for a month now and I have updated it to the latest firmware (WW_Phone-13.20.10.152-20161222). I must report I have no such issues, my battery drops 0-1% at night. I don't lose any battery when I'm not using my phone and I get around 7 hours screen time. What is it like for you? How much does battery do you lose at night? If you don't want to do a factory reset, try reseting your cellular network settings (Settings>Back up and restore>Restore cellular network settings). Then put your cellular network to 3G (4G uses more battery). Please reply if this helps. Good luck!
Hi,
anyone here using the 930U firmware ,
i get only about 2-2,5 SOT.
Is it the problem with the U firmware,
Or nougat itself,
Thank you.
Edit: My battery drop 35% in six hours standby last night T.T.
I have the same issue. Not sure what causing the drain. I moved to hybrid rom by jkruse . That helps keeping the battery life good. https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/development/rom-t3637664
i have the verizon variant and i have the same issue, i'm returning to stock verizon rom
Same problem here, it started about 2 months ago. I have noticed that it doesnt happen when airplane mode is activated and only wifi is on, maybe radio is causing the problem (?). I'm going to try the hybrid rom mentioned before
Could someone solve the problem? I have the last update and the battery is drained and turned off with 40%
That's odd. I've been using the G930U on my G930A for some time now and I haven't had any problems with the battery life. Then again, I only have Wi-Fi on my S7, so maybe it is a radio issue?
I do not know, sometimes it goes off with 40% others with 19% and so it varies but never reaches 1% and it will be 2-3 hours of screen use that the battery lasts. I changed the battery but it remains the same
Hi friends....
I have the exynos version of s7 edge and am suffering extreme battery drain... when the phone is off it still costs around 2% in one hour and sometimes without even using the phone feels hot in hand.... i have tried everything that was on youtube and all the methods in the xda thread.... twice factory reset my phone and tried resetting as well but the results are same after i update the apps on my phone....
The major reason for the battery drain was 1) wifi active around 37% and 2) apps usage around 61%....
But i couldn't find out which apps were causing the drain since no apps were listed except some with 1 to 4% of drain....
Any help please...
Ps: am not rooted
App used: better battert stats
Has anyone else noticed battery drain after the most recent security update?
My 6p also seems to have issues locking on to the carrier network...
seriously considering a downgrade....
Just changed my battery about 2 weeks ago and was getting phenomenal battery life, and have pretty much immediately noticed a difference...
yes. I have just replaced the battery in my 6P this Monday. Battery wasn't lasting half of a day with average use.
The drain seems diminished since the new battery, but not by a lot. It also still heats up more than it ever did.
(this is my second 6P... the first one was traded in under it's original two-year warranty when this behavior turned from annoying to the phone being completely useless. It would have an apparent "rapid drain" and shut down spontaneously, and on reboot, the battery would show just about where it was before. It could be as high as 40% and exhibit this behavior.
I love this phone, but it's rapid deterioration is making it just another heap of very expensive toys with a planned obsolescence. Disappointed in Huawei and Google )

My sister's 5X (same gen as 6P of course) now has the problem.
Under Settings > battery & developer options > active services it's not really clear what's happening.
It could be Device Health Services (logs battery usage), or com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel, but you'd think such a thing ought to be active all the time (RIL is for baseband, the cellular network modem)
It might also be that the banking app that uses NFC gives a problem. But killing that app did not drastically reduce the temperature of the phone.
Same thing, was thinking my battery was beginning to fail. If someone finds a fix, please post it here.
I have crazy battery drain on WiFi.
I tried to boot on Safe Mode and still the battery drain was present so it's safe to assume it's not some app that's causing it.
I also thought this is my battery going bad but when I switched to 4G the battery drain stopped and my battery life became as it used to be.
AccuBattery reports 92% battery health which is darn good for a 2 year old phone.
The battery drain happens only on WiFi.
Tried LineageOS 2 weeks ago and still same battery drain on wifi.
This drive me nuts.
I tried going back to september security patch after I faced this issue as there was no problem at all regarding battery life before updating, but it did not improve the now worst battery life. Standby is very good, not even single percent drop overnight.
Same here on my Nexus 6P, this was caused by November 5th 2018 update. I was getting 3 days of battery life with my usage, and after this update I get ~12 hours with almost NO screen time. Google needs to fix this.

I have noticed exactly the same after the November update. For example, yesterday morning I charged the battery to 100%, this morning it was down to 52% with hardly any usage. The battery used to last for 4-5 days with pre-November OS versions.
I have yet to try with WiFi turned off. I'll re-charge the phone soonish and switch wireless off to see if it helps.
I found a way to recover ~60% of usage time:
Settings > Location > Scanning > Wifi & Bluetooth Scanning OFF
Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Automatically Select Network OFF + Select your primary network manually
Settings > Google > Nearby > Turn off
With that I have 80% of my pre-november update battery capacity. If anyone can help me complete this answer, this would be highly appreciated

I did all these, force-stopped a few apps which were showing in the battery stats and re-charged back to 100%. This seems to have helped. It's now been 22 hours and the battery is showing 80%.
Yep. I had this issue with oreo. Only way i solved it was going back to nougat. I did a fresh installatiom of it several times and everything was laggy and i immediately noticed the battery drainage too. I went back to nougat and everything worked smoothly, battery was lasting a lot longer too.
Any comments on December build battery life?
