When I leave my Jasjar running for a few minutes without touching it, the screen goes black and the only way to bring it back is to press the power button... but I would like to be able to press the keyboard buttons or touch the screen to bring it back... any ideas ?
and yes, "Do not lock buttons" has been checked in the Lock tab of the Buttons settings...
Any ideas greatly appreciated !
If you press that stupid 'Backlight' button it comes back on too!
Although thats pretty useless too!
Hey guys,
1°) Is it possible to re-maping others buttons ?
2°) I use the 1st button to run the freeware Screen Toggle (http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?download=1415)
because i want a ON/OFF with the same button #1 (no undesired ON in the pocket).
But it is no possible, only the power button do a ON, and the power button do a stop with the GPS.
Have you a solution ?
Excuse my frenchglish....
A couple of quick questions for people who have actually got the phone:
1) Is there an easy way to turn the backlight/screen on/off (to save battery) at the press of a button as you can on most other touchscreen phones?
2) How easy/quick is it to lock/unlock the phone?
3) Approx how many seconds is it from when you press the power button to when the phone is fully loaded and ready to be used?
Thanks in advance!

1. Briefly press the Power Button.
2. To Unlock ~ Swipe your finger across the screen.
3. Depends:
Are you talking of from Powering On or from switching the screen back on?
If from Powering On:-
It really depends on how many Apps/Drivers installed but mine takes around 25 seconds from a long press on the Power button to fully loaded.
If from just switching on the screen:-
Instantly.... and can be switched on either with a brief press on the Power button or the Home key at the bottom of the screen.
Thanks for the reply!
I presume the power button is on the very top edge of the phone?
So would I be correct in saying that a brief press on the power button actually turns the display off (effectively locking the phone from the point of view of accidentally pressing something on screen if it's in your pocket for example) ?
But if the home button turns the screen back on in the same way as the power button, wouldn't THAT be prone to accidentally activating the phone when you don't want it to?
I've always found it much quicker to simply turn off the display instead of actually locking it.

The power button is on the side of the phone, on the right side.
If you press the power button on Android it will lock and shut off the screen yes.
and you press the home button on any android device it usually activated the screen and then you have to swipe to unlock.
Thanks...I was getting confused.
So when you briefly press the power button, it actually "locks" the phone and turns off the display and needs to be "unlocked" with another press of this button & a finger swipe.
Is this hard coded or can you stop the "home" button from also trying to lock/unlock the device, i.e. can I simply use the power button to lock/unlock and the home button doesn't do anything in this state??

It is hard coded.
However, to switch the phone on using the Home button does require a significant press and it is recessed.
Very quick to unlock the phone, whether you use the swipe to unlock or the Android 'join the dots' security. I actually prefer this as you have a decent sized clock on the screen.
I presume the Simcard PIN request on device startup works the same as it does on Windows Mobile devices?

Hi guys, is there anyway I can change the behaviour of the power button? Ideally what I'd like it to do is act as a 'Home' button on single press, screen lock on a short hold (or double tap, or tap while on home screen) and shut down on long press.
Is that possible?
Thanks!
Hi,
I'm looking for a solution to stop the phone from turning on the screen when the home button is pressed?
Many time I take it in my pocket I'm hitting that button and the screen is turning on.
I'd prefer that it only turn on when I click the power button.
I think I have to go in : "/system/usr/keylayout", but after I don't know what to do.
Any help or suggestions?
