The last update I received was the August 1st patch. Is the unlocked version just being overlooked, or am I not receiving new updates?
I haven't gotten any updates either.

The last update to the u1 devices is AQH3. I have no idea why they havent updated.
Your options are do nothing, install a regular G950U rom and live with horrible carrier bloat and a package disabler, or root and run something debloated (done yourself or use a rom) and have 80% battery.

Just got an update today. It's funny, because a couple of days ago I reached out to Samsung of America, but didn't hear back. So I reached out to several Android reporting sites, and then all of a sudden we get an update.

try to check the updates manually, at least that's what i did
Yep, checked manually. Nothing.
I had an issue getting updates when I used Odin to install unlocked fw and didn't wipe afterwards. Is that the case here?
You can always go to Updato.com and search for G950U1 to dl and install from there.
I received the November security patch update last night as well.
installed the update on my s8+ while having substratum layers applied. stupid system keeps crashing, even on safe mode. had to restore to factory settings.

Did you try updating using WiFi? That's what I had to do, it wouldn't update over data.
Just got the 11.30.2017 update as well. S8 unlocked version running on Tmobile.

Unlocked models are the last to get update, best case scenario month from now, worst up to three monts, i got the september security patch on 28th december and AQL1 mid january.
All I have is the December update.
Guys I just noticed my phone downloading the software update. When I click on it it doesn't give my any info of what it is. As soon as it finishes the download I'll followup.
Does anyone know if LG pushed out an update for unlocked v20 and if so is it Oreo or just 7.1.1
I hope it's Oreo ?
But honestly I hope it's a good functioning update.
LG has a lot to improve.
I'll followup.
Ok so that update is the security update only.
Not any os update as I hoped....?, Not even 7.1.1
LG thank you ... I have made up my mind.
.... Don't think I'll be sticking with LG for my next phone. ?
What model, and what is the version number now?

US996 unlocked (non-US Cellular) version security update
My LG V20 US996 unlocked phone now shows a security update available. The update is labeled "US99610n".
It's still on 7.0. A year since the last update and this is all we get.

If you can't afford one then make the best of the v20 instead of complaining about updates.
Before I apply the update, my biggest questions are:
- What's the Changelog?
- Does this fix the Dirty Cow vulnerability that allow us to root?

I'm with you on that. Sent an email to LG a few weeks ago stating just that. It took them a whole year for a security update on my US996.

If I'm going to get a phone that isn't well supported for updates but has true functionality, I'll stick with Galaxy note series ....
Google pixel unless they produce a note type stylus I'll pass although I did think about it.
Pixel maybe... Don't know. Let's see if it's discounted.
I think HTC is the only manufacture that started to be good with updates with their later flagship phones. I would even consider HTC before I consider LG again for phones.
Are LG V20 US996 unlocked phones still rootable after the US99610n update?
Would someone who has aleady accepted the newest update be so kind as to check and post the current ARB on their phone?

1. Security update to one of the November patch sets.
2. This is the us996 unlocked that can be bootloader unlocked through LGs website and never needed dirtycow. AFAIK LGs unlocking processes should work fine. If for whatever reason you wanted to use dirtycow anyway its still possible to revert to the previous version since they didn't increment arb.

Hi,
In particular, I wanted to know if this update includes fixes for the KRACK and blueborne vulnerabilities. Do you know where I could find a changelog?
Also, if I do the OTA update do you know if it's going to wipe out TWRP? If so, I might what to wait for a zip file that I can install with TWRP from dimm0k or McNutnut:

it includes those fixes since its at Nov 6 security patch ( Nov 6 exactly has the KRACK fix, while blueborne was fixed in the September patch). I expect taking the ota will wipe twrp however.

Rather not bite. I'll wait until I see what Sony's next move is. I wouldn't give in on the missing headphone jack on any phone.

Mine is a US Unlocked 9960, purchased online.. After today's security update (and researching what an ARB is, and how to access it) my ARB (Anti Rollback Version) number remains 0.

I agree, missing headphone jack is also a deal breaker for me.
For those who have rooted US996's, this thread has links to TWRP flashable images and instructions on how to install them which won't overwrite the the recovery partition as an OTA might do:

The March security patch has shown up on firmware finder. We'll probably receive this in May :silly:
yup.. may in may or june
Maybe the poor UK users will see this next year...lol some of them are still on b394 instead B402

Still better than waiting for a lot of time, good choice. I rather prefer to update normally when ota comes from honor, at the end here in Italy they're pushing updates with less waiting time looking to other countries
B392 update (March security patch) also available thru FirmwareFinder app. Which means that we'll be receiving this OTA update like mid-May I guess.
403
Voices...
A technology site reports OTA of 403 started yesterday in Italy.
I don't really trust them very much, and -because of my production batch- I have to wait usually around 7-10 days to receive the OTA on my phone since it starts delivery, so I can't confirm
http://www.
tecnoandroid.it/2018/03/26/honor-8-e-adesso-al-sicuro-disponibile-la-versione-b403-con-le-patch-di-marzo-327092
Well, the articles says in "Europe" and it is very general...that doean't mean that the update is already avaible in Italy. However, no sign of life in firmware findee, wich still shows "not approved for installation". I'm italian too and my H8 updated via OTA to B402 on 15 March so i expect the B403 to be released on 5 April and to obtaining it on 15 April
Pretty sure that update would come in May/June just like I'm pretty sure we'll get Oreo when Android P has been officially released to the public.
FRD-L09 here, i got a security patch a few days ago as well.
instead of fixing anything, it made my phone quite a bit laggy in all aspects including gaming and also now the battery drains faster and the charging time has also increased. this update has made my phone a bit of a mess. can someone redirect me to an FRD-L09 thread with such an update?
I don't know. My FRD-L09C423 shows that B401 and B402 are approved for installation in FF even with IMEI sending but when i search for the updates still says "no updates available" and hangs on B394.

Still B403 isn't approved for my IMEI but I'm running B402 so not complaining.

True lol. I think there's maybe one more security patch and then we should be receiving the Oreo update, since I saw Honor recently tweet about Oreo preparation for the Honor 7x.

Hi guys,
I just got this update too on my FRD L04. Since it's been a while I factory reset after an update, I did so to clean up my phone of all the other junk I've been stacking. Well this was a huge mistake because now the my bluetooth earphone won't connect to my phone. Before factory resetting, and on B392 it worked perfectly fine, I don't know why and how the factory reset messed with the Bluetooth connectivity. Anyone have a solution for this? Thanks.
Has anyone been able to find a full changelog for the ASD8 update? Just got it this morning and I havent been able to find any full changelog except for the little vague one Samsung released.
Am on ASD5 still , didn't receive updates , you can check the link in the update option
Runs cooler now I think.
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I didn't get it either so I tried to manually updating it from firmware.science and that was a no go. I get an error so I guess it's only from when you're updating from asd3 and I'm still on asd5
Odin? It doesnt discriminate against current FW

You should see an update soon on U1. Att finally updated to the May Patch, so the U1 may show up soon. The April patch showed up shortly after all the carriers released.
That said, on the S9, the U1 only got quarterly updates. You may end up waiting longer on U1.

What does that thread say of Q?
Q hasn't dropped yet, so unless you have a pixel, your unlikely to have access to Q.
On the S9/+, we got the P beta October or November if I remember correctly. Pretty sure it was August before Pie was official. Samsung doesn't usually dabble in the betas, they wait for the official before they start their beta process.
