Hi there, I've got rooted A1 with Camera 2 API enabled.
So, low-light photography on A1 is plain terrible, I've found out that the camera automatically bumps up ISO to values like 6400, and the photos are noisy. Manual mode of A1 allows up to 3200.
This can be fixed by setting ISO manually to lower values, however then you're stripped of HDR in low light and all the different modes.
Next thing is, that in RAW files white dots appear. I've read the same problems existed in ZTE Axon 7 however it was fixed. (https://www.google.pl/amp/s/forum.x...s-pattern-raw-photos-zte-axon-7-t3579684/amp/)
And Oneplus 5 https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...s-by-third-party-cameras-on-oneplus-5.612091/
The app I used for Raw pics was lightroom, however.
Besides all this, I've got older post on Google camera (gcam), and I don't well, that's another thing I suppose.
So, can anybody try taking raw pics in lightroom with good light and show me results? Did xiaomi fail to implement camera 2 api properly? Did I screw something up?
I wonder if I screwed up something while modding my phone and now I've got some weird issues

Take care, peeps.
Xiaomi didnt implement camera api 2, the device out Of the box has no cam2api.

I was playing around with FV-5 (camera app) and pushing the camera to 3200 ISO to see what kind of quality would result, and noticed that I was getting banding on the screen. I switched back to the Samsung camera app, in manual mode, and noticed (for the first time) banding there as well. I took a couple of pictures of my nondescript carpet to see if it was a screen thing or a photo thing: http://imgur.com/a/69mml
Now I'm seeing it all the time. I've used manual mode before, but never run into this. I'm having a hard time believing that FV-5 broke my camera, but I can't remember having this issue - even in manual mode - with my camera before this. Can anyone else run their camera in manual mode, set ISO to 800, and the shutter so that the EV is in the -1 to -2 range and report back? I'd hate to have to take the phone back and trade it in, but this is just unacceptable performance.
So, I've been having some issues with the focus on the rear facing camera for the V20
This is a pic with the Wide Angle Lens:

It's crisp and clear (ish)
This is a pic with the normal lens:

It's blurry as hell, unless I'm like two inches away:

I've tried in both Auto and Manual mode, and have tried the focus in both Auto and Manual.
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
P.S. sorry for the imgur links, I haven't posted enough to be allowed links in side my post.
Nope. Just issues with longer focus in darker scenes but that is every phone. Lens clean?
Did you find any solution, I've the same issue.
#4
i have same issues
any solutions?
Tap to focus
I find just pointing it and clicking doesn't set focus properly with some scenes
It's a bit odd as the G4 would have zero issues with this and the V20 also has IR AF
Any Solution yet?
I am also having the same issue, the focus doesn't work, neither manually nor in auto mode. Sometimes, just sometimes, it luckily does work, but most of the time it doesn't.. i dont understand what the problem is..
Recently, the camera was acting way weird, like showing dark picture with green lines, and sometimes it wouldnt even open, it showed just a black screen, i cleared data of gallery and camera, which resolved the issue, but still void of ability to focus.
Ever since I got this phone I've been bothered by the bad framerate of the picture preview while in the Auto modes in the camera app, I thought this was a problem across all LG phones from the past year
Today I had the chance to check out a G5, the camera framerate was noticeably higher when in Auto, not only that, it didn't have just the simple, auto and manual modes, it also had a so called "basic" which is like the auto view with controls on the left which allow you to quickly change settings such as HDR and so, in less taps than on the V20 and without obstruction of the preview.
What is the meaning of this? If you don't take into account the manual video mode, the camera app is much better on the G5, could it be that my phone hasn't received this version of the app yet? Its an H990DS
Hi All. I got a g6 last month, sent it back and got another one because it had a dust specle inside the lense glass.
Now in the new one I noticed something weird with manual mode in the camera thought you guys could help.
In low light I took 2 photos once in auto mode and once in manual mode.
Both with same iso, whitbalance auto, same shutter speeds. The image in manual mode comes out noisy and the one from auto is not much noisy. This happened all the times in tried with different subjects.
Is this how your phone works too? Or should i return this as well? Pls see attached images. I will really appreciate your comments. Thanks in advance.
sorry. bumping if anyone has any comments?
In manual mode: did you enable "noise reduction" in settings?
Manual mode itself is very noisy on my phone too. Noise reduction is always a software thing, that's why Pixel phones take such great pictures (because Google is good in software). Maybe try a port of the Google camera and compare the results for yourself.

Yes i eventually figured the noise reduction. But couldn't belive the noise when it's off.
Thanks for confirming its same in your phone too.
That is completely normal.
Lol, yeah. Totally normal. Manual mode outputs garbage, but it can be made absolutely glorious with software processing tools.
First image is simple raw -> jpg conversion with no processing.
Second image is raw -> jpg with simple photoshop raw filter processing
Hello! i have a question regarding the shutter speed of my oneplus 5. No matter whatever app i use or custom rom i flash, i cant set or control the shutter speed, neither with stock camera. Even if i set the shutter to 30 seconds the camera will take the pic in about 2/3 seconds max. I used to shot very cool pics at night with my Op3 (with resurrection remix) by controlling the shutter speed and when i bought this phone i thought i could have even done them better. Also the google camera by arnova doesnt work really good: a pink tint fully cover my pic taken with hdr+ activated. I guess this is normal because there is also the option to remove it but as the pink tint is gone a new black tint comes to cover the corners of the pics and the result is pretty weird, photos are so unreal. Anyone have any idea what's going on? i tried it all but i still have this issue, my priority is the shutter speed by the way
