crackling on bluetooth streaming, newest Joying JY-UOS04P4 8.0 4GB/32GB - Android Head-Units

Hello all
I was wondering if anyone has this head unit, Joying 6.2 Inch Single Din Car Radio Android 8 Oreo 4GBRAM 1 Din Touch Screen Audio System, I just installed it. (sorry can't post link)
Many things seem to work ok, but when streaming from the audio player from my iphone 6s+ 11.3ios, it crackles predictably at various parts in a song. For instance, one song, which plays cleanly on my subaru stock hu, crackles crazily at exactly 15 seconds in. I actually suspected the audio file. Other audio files stop playing within a few seconds.
This is pretty disappointing, this is one of the main functions of this HU for me. I am looking into updates, but I bought an Oreo HU with the hopes the OS would have stable functions of at least the most used functions. Just wondering if anyone out there is experiencing this type of thing on 8.0 with the joying 4GB versions. Thanks

Did you ever get this sorted out I am looking at the same unit

I think so. It looks like the problem was playing media I did not have fully downloaded. So the player was making itunes download the media I own from itunes but didn’t have fully downloaded. While it was doing that, it was hitting bluetooth and wifi pretty hard and I heard cracking and stopping.
Streaming media that lives on the device worked fine. Spotify for some reason did not do this, so this was probably something to do with apple IMO. I am enjoying this head unit except for how light it is in full sun, its in an open top car.

thanks for letting me know. I have now ordered one.

ANDROID 4.4.4 HU choice?

Hello every one....
My name is SKOLS, and i'm a french AUDI S3 8P 2007 owner.
Sine a month, i'm looking for a HU for my S3, witch can display OBD value on the screen.....so naturally go for an ANDROID HU with TORQUE or DASHcommand App....
But i've got a little problem : there's so much items, and sellers!!!!
The price is not a problem, i prefer spend 500€ in a good HU, rather than get some issues everyday.
Second point, i would like a full customizable HU (Xposed), so i suppose i should go for a pure ANDROID HU but i'm not sure about this.
I find this HU : Xtrons PF73AA3A from UK...... (cannot post links).
It's more expensive than other ALIexpress HU, but it's 2 years warranty and as a chat support. But it seem to be restrictive, due to Kitkat OS..... is it true? ANd it's just a 800x480 screen....
What do you think about it?
Can you advise me the best product for my needs?
Very thank you for reads and answers....
SKOLS
I just bought a KGL unit for my S3 8P, which fits relatively well and emulates the look of the RNSe systems - just search ebay for "7"AUDI A3 Car Audio DVD GPS Sat Nav Quad Core Android 4.4.4 S3 RS3 RNSE-PU Radio" to see what I mean. It was a UK supplier, so was more expensive, but no risk of delays in delivery or additional import fees into EU.
Anyway, the unit did have some issues, but noting that makes me regret buying it:
- Bottom latches do not release with the stereo keys, so you have to remove the centre hazard button trim to release them. It unclips easily, so not a huge issue
- Bundled ROM was OK, but but had the usual issues of not passing music control buttons on steering wheel to other music players like Google Music. I installed Malaysk's latest rooted ROM and that helped to get a lot of the software annoyances out of the way
- Sound is a slight issue with it being very biased to the high frequencies, but after rooted rom was installed I used Viper4Android to get a fuller sound
- Sound quality is not too bad, but I am having to deal with some ground loop noise issues on the rear speakers. Will try to a ground loop isolator to see if that fixes the problems. My front speakers are directly wired to the unit, but on mute, you can hear a very slight hiss from them, but it nowhere near to being intrusive when listening even at low volume.
Here is how it looks: http://imgur.com/a/67keD
Thank's a lot for answers....
I've got full BOSE in my S3, and i'm afraid it can make some issues with such HU.....
Xtrons seem to say no.....
My worry is to make the good choice in built quality, because my last HU is a 1000€ ZENEC 3131D, witch work very well.....and i'm afraid to be very disappointed.
Any opinion in Xtrons products?

Looking for unit with iPod resume playback

Guys, I'm looking for an Android head unit with iPod support that can truly support iPod resume playback. I have searched the globe for a long time but I have found none so far.
Speaking of iPod resume playback, since iPod itself supports this, what a head unit needs to do is just putting iPod to pause at power off, then telling iPod to play at power on. How hard is that? But unfortunately, products from brand names like Pumpkin, Eonon, Xtrons do NOT support this resume playback even though the product might claim it support iPod. Without resume playback, iPod not only won't automatically start to play at power on, it won't even keep the playlist it had before last power off.

Audio lag over bluetooth?

While I ride my motorcycle, I stream audio from my phone to me radio system. I generally just stream Spotify. With the OP3T, I had no issues. Streaming was perfect, and when I would hit Next Song (using my hand controls or from the Head Unit on the motorcycle), the next song would instantly start playing. However, on the OP5, once I hit next song, the current song will play for an additional 5-10 seconds, then the song will skip. I can see on my phone that the song actually skips instantly, but there is such a delay in audio that it causes the seen delay. How can this be corrected?
I've got also a audio problem with the AE2 from Bose.
Playing and after 5 minutes a short lag.
playing again and after another minutes 3-4 lags
I thought its the codec
But changed them and nothing changes in behaviour

??. i thought i said more than that. I added my own details in audio issues. whatever
Have you find out anything ?
When I watch a movie on my carkit via bluetooth
The audio lags +-1-2secs after the video.
Didn't have this on my HTC m9 so it looks like a OP5 problem.

It's something with the bluetooth stack/chip OnePlus uses. This was an issue with the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus One as well.

Sorry to but in guys, but I'm still having this issue on 5.0.1
No work arounds in the meantime?

Android head unit - Do they do everything correctly? (Phone calls, music quality etc)

Considering purchasing a Android headunit over something brand name, the amount of customization i can do with it seems endless, which i like.
but I have a few concerns about them in general. Not knowing which one to buy is a issue but also all the things I take for granted with brand new headunits ie;
Does Bluetooth automatically connect on your phone?
Does the radio/ Bluetooth streaming music stop playing when somebody calls you? And will it resume after the call?
How is the overall reliability of these units? Do they crash often/fail?
Are the boot up times really long?
Switching modes/stations with steering controls - does it work as intended?
How are the amps/sound quality in these headunits compared to branded names?
Basically I have concerns about it actually doing what headunits do (All the basic stuff), if they don't do the basic stuff well. All the customization, apps and all the extra features are not worth it for me. If the basics are all fine with no crashing/reliability issues I will definitely be getting one.
I am not sure which units to consider, I think the Joying units are pretty popular?
A new android version is about to come out soon so maybe it will be worth waiting for that...
I think you can do a search on YouTube to see some units in action. The answers to your questions can really vary depending on the unit in question

look up joying on youtube
I never steam music from my phone to the head unit. Apart from that I have no problems really. Sound quality is just like any aftermarket radio. Bluetooth connects every time like it should. The only things I have found bothering so far:
1. The radio af (station following by RDS) is not working like I want, my original radio did that seamless and it looks like the android just searched for another station.
2. When looking a movie, or listening music, and having navigation in the background, you cannot change the volume of navigation and music separate. Especially when a movie is running, the navigation volume is extremely loud.
I have an erisin 8015 something. Android 5 and mtcd running on malaysk firmware. (Way faster than original). Cold boot takes about 20 seconds
Verstuurd vanaf mijn Z2 Pro met Tapatalk
I myself can personally recommend the Newsmy NU5002
The community here backs this unit very well

Given me a few options to go with, Ill keep researching

Anyone have any experience with Panlelo units?

I'm thinking about buying one of these. I need a standard universal dual din head unit to replace my old sony that is a pos. I just recently discovered android head units. My main concern is app compatibility because these come with an older version of android. I don't see any development on xda for them either.
The one I'm looking at is here

Do yourself a big favour and buy a unit with 2GB or ram. 1g will be too slow no matter what unit you get. The ones that seem to have the most support are Joying.

I agree I purchased this radio and I’m now regretting it. I was trying to be cheap and save money but I don’t think it was worth it should of paid the extra money for one with more ram. Don’t get me wrong it works but certain things lag like switching between apps and Spotify... like if I’m using radio it takes 10 seconds for Spotify to load even if it was already open.
I think I found a better alternative. Looking at Dasaita... It is a px5 octacore with 2gb ram. looks like they keep their stuff updated as well
I had the Panlelo PA09AN, it was a decent budget option, but the Play store was restrictive, it didn't let me sideload APKs, and it only had capacitive touch buttons.
Which for a car from 2001 with no steering wheel controls was terrible, had to use a Wireless USB remote to skip songs and change volume while driving, not good.
Also took forever to turn on, but the backup camera will switch over right away if you go in reverse, seems to be a changing video inputs rather than android handling it.
Music playing through AUX would cut out when the display switched to the backup camera.
Also, only allowed me to pair bluetooth to phones, wouldn't let me pair my OBDII adapter, or a Bluetooth media remote that I bought, tiny little circle with music controls that stuck to my steering wheel, great solution if it worked....
I have the Panlelo PA-012 S2 right now. It boots up really fast, like it's resuming from sleep, probably has some sort of battery. has android 6.0, Play store is wide open.
PHYSICAL BUTTONS! So happy that it has a volume knob, but the other buttons have quirks... There's Home, Radio, and Navigation buttons. Each one takes forever between the press and the action actually taking place. Also, can't rebind the radio button to be any other app, kinda silly...
Music from AUX continues to play when the backup camera is in use, but.. if i change the default launcher to something else, and i switch out of the AUX app, it stops playing music, very annoying.
The bluetooth music app on this version is bad, it doesnt show track name, only playback controls. The other Panlelo head unit actually gave the music info.
Also claims to have capatability with Bluetooth OBDII adapters, can't seem to get it to work.
Overall, you get good value for the money with Panlelo, but there's a lot of usability hurdles with them...
I just ordered the JOYING 7, has Android 8.0, 4GB RAM, physical volume knob (though I wish it also had physical playback buttons)
Also seems to have android auto and apple carplay, very cool. we'll see how this head unit actually turns out.
I find the answers in this thread to be quite misleading.
Everyone thus far has compared the cheapest and nastiest versions of the Panlelo headunit. I've got an S13, which is considered their top of the line (doesn't break your bank account), with Android 8.1 and 4gb of ram. It runs like a dream, it's faster than my Samsung Galaxy 5.

Got the same unit, but mine is full of bugs. How did you updated to 8.1?
It came with it. Their support hasn't responded to firmware updates.
Mine is full of bugs. But nothing too major. The most buggy thing is the theme - nav bad cannot be seen in some apps and the text in a few apps have white text on a white background.
